Hi everyone, I'm always looking for more running friends. I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to running so any motivation and tips are always welcome. I started to add a few people but it got a bit tedious

Cheshire here

I completed it in May last year. When I first started I could barely do 1 or 2 minutes but it's definitely worth it! Good luck

Hi, I've tried adding most of you but didn't have much luck finding people. If you didn't get a request, feel free to add me - rarabrown

Thanks. Just had a quick look at his site, will go through in more detail when I get chance.

Are there many differences between the 3 brands? I've looked at the garmin and the Tom Tom but only briefly read up about them
-
Anything up to £150

Thanks for the advice everyone. Will be contacting a local podiatrist as it doesn't seem to want to go away

Great work Ellen! I've just started running after years of making excuses. I love it! Started on the treadmill and now run 5k races (although not very quick) Scarily, I've entered the ballot for next years Berlin marathon so will have to do plenty more running if I get a place in that

Cheshire here! Giving MFP a third (possibly fourth) try

Currently trying to get fitness back as well as train for a 5k in September. First attempt I managed to do it in 37 mins...had my fourth attempt today and completed it in 28:17. Really happy with the progress I have made 1/7 - 2.5k (followed by 7k on stationary bike) 2/7 - 5.0k 3/7 - 2.5k 5/7 - 5.0k MTD total - 15k / 85k…
-
Does it work for running on a treadmill or does it map when you run to pick things up etc?
-
Started the month on plan. Two runs quicker than I was expecting I'd be able to do 1/7 - 2.5k (followed by 7k on stationary bike) 2/7 - 5.0k MTD total - 7.5k / 85k (9% completed) Very confident that I'll hit my first months goal
-
I'll make my goal 50 miles running on the treadmill this month, although hoping to exceed that easily
-
Hi All, I'm Harry and I live in Cheshire, England. Joined a gym a month back to lose weight but would like some distance goals as well. Hoping to run a 5k race in a few months (had my first attempt last week and managed 37.5 mins and then second attempt this morning was 33 mins)
-
Not sure what his 5k PB is but I know he has run a sub 40 mins 10k
-
Thanks all for the advice! I am a very competitive person and tend to compete with myself on most things so will continue that trend going forward. Not too sure if I'll reach 12 mins but I'll definitely better 37
-
Thanks Matt. I have looked at that app (and tried using it once or twice) but never seemed to persist with it. Not sure why. Think I will give it a good go and hopefully be able to get to 30 mins so I can at least keep up with him for some of the way
-
It says I should be aiming for 150g a day. I weigh 190lbs so that would fall in line with your aim above. I think I'll just reassess what I am eating before going down the protein shake route.

Originally from Hertfordshire, currently living in Cheshire. Feel free to add, could do with the added motivation
