  • How long are you supposed to be on it? Did you stop with our without your doctor's approval? I ask the latter because of potential antibiotic resistance. I took it for two weeks and noticed that I was hungrier but I didn't let myself eat more. If you had stomach problems or gained weight, it might have been for a reason…
  • It's not the methane. 18% of emissions come from the production of livestock worldwide. For perspective, cars, planes, trains, boats, etc. contribute 13%. Not that I think anyone here cares.
  • A lot of agricultural land is used for growing animal feed. It takes more resources all around to produce meat (land, fossil fuels, water) over the resources required for plant-based foods. That's the logic behind it. I don't think the problem is with eating meat in general but in industrial factory farms. But I'm still…
  • That is simple advice and great for most people. But if this woman is morbidly obese, perhaps older, other health problems, etc...she might need the support to change habits. Being medically supervised doesn't guarantee that it's safe or sustainable (i.e. HGC drops). I agree with Troutsy that dietitians are a better choice…
  • I don't have any answers for you at the moment but it'd be helpful to know the country, state, province, etc. where you live.
  • I haven't read this one so I don't know what it contains. But I incorporate some ideas I've seen about foods to help with mood into my regular MFP routine. I added Omega-3s (fish oil, fish, and flaxseed) and cut back on sugar. Like clockwork, I have a huge mood swing and crash after too much sugar. So, that seems to be…
  • I bought the 21 Day Fix. I paid around $80 for a bunch of tiny colored plastic tupperware. Basically, you get a daily allowance of containers: 2 red, 4 green, etc., etc. It says no calorie counting but I found I needed to plan even more for the 21 Day Fix than I do for just calorie counting. With 21DF, I had to plan what I…
  • So good! I didn't even miss the dough.
  • I'm making this Med-inspired recipe tonight. The typical version with lots of butter and phyllo dough runs around 600 calories per serving. This version is around 150 per slice. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/03/easy-crust-less-spinach-and-feta-pie.html
  • Chili Chai? I must have it! Please share details. :)
  • I love it and haven't given it up. It's just not an everyday thing like it used to be. Log it and measure it. A 5 oz. pour is a typical serving. I've been known to drink 1-3 ounces if I can't fit in more. If you love it, make room. Measuring and self-control work for me (and I've had entire bottles to myself in the past).
  • I'd bet people are ignoring this thread because of all the recent "clean" eating and "detox" stuff going around. If you think drinking a tea will make the pounds disappear, you'll be disappointed. There's nothing in it that will *make* you lose weight. If you like it, drink it. It might help keep you energized for a…
  • The part about ranch dip made me giggle a little. When I studied abroad in Spain and Italy, my American classmates would always ask for ranch dressing. They were answered with blank stares. They also don't eat much processed lunch meat unless its salumi, serrano ham, prosciutto, capicola, and others that are filled with…
  • MFP is a great start. I quit on Thanksgiving.
  • Acne is my side effect too :\
  • "Open your diary" means make your diary public so that people can see it and help you figure out what you can improve upon.
  • If you're popping it on your own in an air popper, I'd recommend measuring the unpopped kernels and logging them as unpopped. I use Jolly Time Yellow Kernels, they're in the database with a lot of other brands, I'm sure.
