Your baby sounds like mine! Prefers mommy over food :) I read this article and it said nursing moms shouldn't go below 1800 which makes sense. I know I'd be way too starving for that, lol. Hope it helps. http://www.webmd.com/baby/features/8-tips-for-losing-weight-after-pregnancy?page=2

Sites I've read said that you need bare minimum 1800-2000 while nursing because you burn 500 a day from breastfeeding alone. It also depends on how old your nursling is, too. If your baby is itty bitty, I'd error on the higher side of calories and see if that lets you lose weight and then slowly decrease as they get older.…

Following... I didn't know there was a breastfeeding option. I just set MFP at losing 1 lb a week and was given 2200 calories which so far doesn't make me feel starving, baby is happy, and I seem to be losing weight. And I always eat back my exercise calories and drink lots of water. If I had been feeling too hungry or my…

I have seen the scale move more the next day after I have a protein shake before bed but I am really not sure why that is? I don't drink them for that reason, though. I drink them because they taste like milkshakes and I am hoping to maintain lean muscle mass as I lose weight. I use biochem but I don't think the brand…

Completely agree with you. I went undiagnosed with postpartum hypothyroidism for 14 months and my health and life went to hell. If you are having any exhaustion then do not wait. Demand that the Dr test you using a full panel and not just a TSH test.

You look years younger and amazing! Great job and perseverence!

As much as my body lets me but if I even lose 60 to get to wedding weight I will be extremely happy. I've got a total of 100 to lose.

You look so awesome! You are beaming confidence!! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Here's to a healthier 2015. :)

Thanks for the link! I'll check it out.

That's very similar to what MFP gives me as far as TDEE so that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up!
-
Yeah, I think you're right. I saw kcal and assumed it meant calories. Therein explains my confusion, lol.
-
Wowsas! You look amazing! Congrats on all your hard work!
-
Thanks for the advice! I will definitely try to keep things switched up!

Thanks guys. I've been reading about TDEE in a ton of posts and was trying to figure out what I was missing as several people had mentioned MFP not being as accurate. I think I'll just keep it simple. :) Thanks again!

If I eat too much sugar my cravings become out of control. And I still can't just have 2 pieces of pizza and be done with it. Learning how to make low carb pizza crusts have helped me. I am hoping to get to a place with my weight loss and overall health where I can eat these things in moderation and not have to deal with…

I agree that it's so hard with littles. I have 3 (4.5, 3, and 9 months) and I am trying to squeeze exercising in when my husband does bath time. It stinks to have to do it later at night when I'm more tired but otherwise it won't get done. Do you have anyone who can support you like that? Or else just really trying to do…

You look like a different person! You are just glowing!!! Well done on all that hard work and believing in yourself!

I am 28 and have 3 children: 4.5, 3, and 9 months. I developed hypothyroidism after my second pregnancy and so I have at least 60 to lose. I joined MFP 11 days ago and am down 3 so far.

Healthy fats and proteins keep me from craving as much sugar. Junky carbs have me craving it really bad so that's something to keep in mind as you plan your meals. I also like using stevia.

I am actually starting to notice this some days, too, which surprises me and I feel my stomach must have shrunk a little bit. Although I am sure I eat most of you as I'm a nursing mom. I also need my fats NoelFigart1 to feel satisfied!

I am 5'8ish. My starting weight is 260 and I am in a size 20. I can go down to an 18 around 240-245 and a size 16 around 215-220. I haven't been a size 14 since freshman year of high school but I'd imagine it'd be in the 180's. I'm looking forward to it although ultimately I'd like to be an 8-10. I carry my weight in my…

Wow!! Amazing job!

I need to lose 100, too, from 260 to 160. I've lost 3 lbs in the 10 days I've been on MFP. Add me!

I've had hypothyroidism since 2012 and I agree with a lot of the advice above. Unfortunately, I have to really work out to lose weight. (30-40 min 3-5x a week) And I also try to cut out most wheat and eat low glycemic. I still eat sweet potatoes, quinoa, oatmeal, small amounts of rice, and ezekiel bread (sprouted bread). I…

I have 100 to lose: from 260 to 160. Add me!

It's nice to see others with hypothyroid who are successful. I was diagnosed hypo after my second child was born and gained 40 lbs on top of being overweight already. I'm also breastfeeding which makes having too big of a calorie deficit hard for me and baby. I really have to exercise to see a drop. I was on levothyroxine…

Timely thread for me. I got fast food (blech) and drank a milkshake tonight. :(

I am 260 and would like to ultimately get to 160 but I'd be happy with 190-200 by the end of this year. :) I'm 28 and 5'8. Add me! :)
