  • Mine is pretty much right on the money. I don't look at the remaining calories MFP tells me, I just use it to log the food and then rely on Fitbit for my burn (I shoot for 1000 calories under my total burn per Fitbit). I use Libra to log my weight and calculate weightloss stats, such as average daily deficit based on…
  • I always lose weight when I go to Disney despite eating whatever I want - between the heat (esp in Florida) and the 20-30k steps a day, you will likely burn more than you have appetite for or can eat.
  • User Name: MHarper522 Weigh in week: October Week 3 Weigh in day: Friday Previous Weight: 256.6 Today's Weight: 255.2 A small loss... But better than a gain or no loss I guess! My period is set to start any moment, so this would be when I usually swell up. Kind of hoping I am swollen and it's hidding a bigger loss I'll see…

  • I don't think it's possible for you to be eating so little + exercising and not losing any weight at 223 pounds. Most likely, you are eating more than you think. It happens to pretty much all of us if we don't use a scale. I got mine for like $10 on Amazon.
  • It's not necessarily about larger portions of everything just different proportions. Say you make a calorie dense food (meat, pasta, etc.) and a low calorie side (roasted veggies, salad, etc.), his meal should have a larger proportion of the meat and smaller of the veggies, the opposite of yours. Or add another easily made…
  • I have to eat gluten free, and it's no worth doing for weightloss. It's inconvenient and without the threat of violent intestinal pain and arthritis flares, I wouldn't do it. Just count calories, don't demonize foods unless they are actually harmful to you.

  • Do you not log your exercise or have a fitness tracker? If you don't log your exercise/fitness tracker linked, I guess it does even out but I would still log just for the sake of actually tracking all intake + macros (and also track exercise). If you are already tracking your exercise, but not logging your shake, are you…
  • Hi guys! Excited to join this team. I'm down 32 pounds from the end of June, with about 75 to 90 pound to go. My goals this month: - Start working out regularly. My job is stressful and I work from home, and I've that as an excuse not to rather to get out and workout. They have an awesome child watch my son loves and I…
  • I have a small scale and work it without separate bowls. I just put the container I'm taking things out of (ex: peanut butter jar), put it on the scale, zero out, scoop out the food I need and look what negative value the scale says (ex: weigh is now "-16g", log 16g of peanut butter).
  • Tests showed I have gluten intolerance, my doctor said it may have made my arthritis worse (and from what I read, it can). I'm just starting on gluten free (and still bitter about it), so not sure if/how much it will help, but worth checking if you have gluten intolerance with your Dr?

  • I use MFP to log food, but I base my deficit on the total burn Fitbit shows for the day so I don't really look at how much MFP recommends. Basically, if Fitbit says I burned 2700, I eat 1700. That leaves me at a deficit of about 1000 a day, or 2 lbs a week. My weight trend app shows an average loss of 2.5 lbs/week for a…
  • Achievement (formally Achievemint I think) gives you points daily if you connect a fitness tracker, social media & MFP and you can also answer 1-5 question surveys every now and then for more points. It's pretty slow going though, you need 10 000 pts for a $10 giftcard. Daily you can earn like 10 pts for steps, 5 pts for…
  • My Charge 2 HR is accurate as well. I use MFP to log my food but I base my target on the number of calories burned FitBit is reporting rather than the MFP targets. I aim for a deficit of 1000 calories a day ex: if my total burn for today is 2700, I can eat 1700), which should mean a 2lb/week weightloss or so I use Libra to…
  • Yes :( just officially diagnosed at 33, but in pain for years. Used to be a skater and genetics from my dad problaby made it spring up faster than it would have.
  • Oddly, hot + humidity seems to make mine worse. It's never as bad when I'm in Canada (where I'm from), but down here in Alabama where I live now it's awful.
  • I remember reading and seeing a report showing how people do not feel satiety the same way, even as children. Some people will eat as long as food is there and some will only eat when hungry, even if offered with food. It's chemical reactions and not more vs lack of will power: you don't need will power when you're not…
  • Just think of it this way: it takes more energy to carry a 50 pounds bag than a 30 pound bag. The calorie burn for the same exercise will definitely go down as you lose weight, as will the number of calories you burn just by being alive and going through your day.
  • They were not rude. You asked why you should have to pay for it and they answered your question. Before deciding on your fitness tracker being inaccurate, you may want to see if your weightloss matches with the burn they report. I aim for 1000 calorie deficit from the daily burn my Fitbit reports and my weightloss us right…
  • I don't schedule cheat days, but if I feel like I need it (hunger level, energy level) I eat either maintenance or smaller deficit for a day. It doesn't ruin previous days, and I don't make up for it. I just consider it a break.
  • My Fitbit is getting the food data from MFP, but MFP is not seeing the steps. Relying on the calories goal in Fitbit until this is fixed, but really annoying.
  • Your frame will make you carry the weight differently, so you may appear "skinnier" then someone of the same relative size who has narrower shoulders/hips. It's not that your bones a heavier, just that your weight is distributed differently (sort of like being taller vs being shorter at the same weight, but instead of…
  • Yes. Eat the chocolate & log it. If you restrict too much and don't treat yourself within your calorie allowance, the chances you'll give up/struggle are much higher.
  • As others have mentioned, people that see you every day (including yourself!) are not going to notice. It's a really good idea to take pictures and measurements so you can compare. I bet you would really see a difference!
  • There is no one size fits all answer. How you carry your weight (all over? Mostly stomach?), your height (50 pounds on someone who is 5'0" stretches you more than if you're 5'10"), your age, your skin's natural elasticity, your genetics, how long you were overweight, how fast you lose... Tbh? Problaby a little, but maybe…
  • I did. I had gestational diabetes, diet controlled with the assistance of my OB and a dietician he had me consult. Weightloss happened as a side effect. I only counted calories to make sure I ate enough because cutting that many carbs from my diet made me undereat if I didn't keep count. I lost 10 pounds, swole up with…
