  • I have a safety cat keychain. It's not much, but it makes me feel a little bit safer. Fits over two fingers with points at the top--better than keys between fingers, if nothing else, and far less dangerous than mace.
  • I found out I got into study abroad for next semester, which is GREAT, but now I'm even more concerned about losing weight. I've heard that England is very... harsh to fat women, and I don't want to be worrying about my body and what I'm eating every second of this great experience. It terrifies me.

  • I tried that green coffee bean extract stuff "Dr." Oz was toting for a while and it caused my anxiety to skyrocket and I had so many panic attacks because of them. My manager at work saw me taking them and made me throw them out, thankfully. Like my mom has ALWAYS told me, if there was a diet pill that worked, Oprah…
  • Hey! I've lost 36 lbs so far this semester :) I just focus on logging my food with MFP every time I eat. My school uses Sodexo, so I usually start my searches with "Sodexo (food name)". I went by Walmart and grabbed some measuring cups, and I use those to measure out my food. Obviously a food scale would be more accurate,…
  • You are such an inspiration to me. Similar situation to yours, and I turned to food after the assault as well. Seeing how far you've come proves to me that I can do that, too. Thank you for posting this!
  • Waist training does make your waist smaller, but it's not for weight loss. I've seen multiple people's progress with them, and it does work. However, you need to be careful with them and still be dieting and exercising to lose the weight.
  • My college uses Sodexo, whose calories are so hard to track even with MFP--there's always like a 100-500 calorie difference between "the same" entries. I feel your pain. I usually get Steamfresh rice and veggies (which I think are 2 things you're pretty tired of!) and keep them to microwave in-room. Also, low-cal popcorn…
  • It helps me to have multiple parts to my dinner, and eat through them one-at-a-time. Like, if I have a 6" sub, I'll cut it in half and eat one half. Then in like 10-15 min, I'll eat the other half. Drink a bunch of water or whatever drink I have, wait a little, eat the chips that came with it (or fruit, or whatever). Then…

  • Just curious, how are we meant to update our post throughout the month? I can't see an option for that and Google isn't helping me out :(
  • I really needed this tonight :)

  • I ate an entire box of mac and cheese tonight--1,200 calories, and way over my calories for the day. You're not alone ;D
  • Just binged very very hard (probably like 2,000 calories over for the day, I mean HARD) because I hated how I looked--yeah, that's helpful. And I kinda just want to give up because my weight hasn't budged for 2 weeks of eating at what MFP set me to, and coming from 3 months of constant weight loss, it's hard to handle.…
  • Mac and cheese... because I'll eat the entire box, and there's 1,200 calories gone for nothing :P
  • Only 1/3 of the way there, but a little bit of progress! Height: 5'11 Age: 19 SW: 273 CW: 241 GW: 190 (for now)
  • I lost 30 pounds in 2 months but I was starting at 273 and I'm 5'11"--so, totally different. I'm sure that by starting to track your calories and incorporating exercise in, you'll start to lose the weight. To get to a healthy BMI (which is kinda... ehhhh, I don't like it, but whatever) you should be between 101-136 lbs,…
  • i'm sorry that he's such a douche :/ hit your goal weight for YOU. i am positive you were beautiful during pregnancy and that your husband--pardon me--is just a whole lot of words you shouldn't say on a public forum. the fact that he can't control himself does not mean anything is wrong with you.
  • same! especially when people post about how they haven't lost anything from their breasts but they've lost everywhere else... the girls were the first to pack their bags and head out, sadly :(
  • Nobody tells you about how some of the people who cheered you on when you started to lose weight become jealous and cold when the weight actually does come off... Like they expected you to fail or something, and it's magically your fault that your victory makes them feel bad
  • Usually they're very uneducated on what that muscle will look like... the idea of a "healthy, thin" woman is usually one with the muscles you'll get from lifting and strength training, not a wispy woman--but when the idea of weights are introduced, people just get all confused. Do what makes you happy, it's your body after…
  • Not exactly before and after, but before and 1/3 of the way there... Started at 273 in January, now 240 in March, so around -30 lbs. Still have 60 more lbs to lose, but it's important to realize how weight loss looks in the "during" for us 5'11" ladies :)
  • I haven't really truly binged since I started MFP (76 days and counting!). There were some days I ate very unhealthily due to stress/anger/what-have-you, but I made it fit into my calorie goal. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to add me! Some things that I found helpful for myself were to get all the foods I would…
  • I struggled with BED for quite a while without realizing it, and once I saw what was happening, I still didn't try to stop. Since using MFP I haven't binged once, which is more because I don't like to see the calories in the red. I'm here for moral support if you need, recovery is hard and doing it healthily is even…
  • My boyfriend just sent me some chocolate and candy from England (he's there, I'm in the US) and I already hid it away so I wouldn't binge on it. One day I can touch it, but not for quite a while! Kinda sad that I have to hide the food not to eat it...

  • I get how weird that is, I bought an XL sweater shirt the other day thinking it'd be a "goal shirt" for when I lost more weight, got home and tried it on--and it already fit. Glad to know I'm not the only one with the "wait, huh?" reaction to clothes!
  • I've heard a lot of horror stories involving copper implants, and while I've never tried them (no need, pill is fine for regulating periods) I'd be very wary if you've ever had an allergic reaction to any metal.
  • I'm a big fan of Steamfresh microwave rice and veggies... I'm a college student so I usually stock my freezer up with them since they're only $1 per bag. A bag of white rice has two servings, but for the full bag it's only 360 calories and then with a bunch of, say, broccoli cutlets in there it's only ~400 calories for the…
