Perfect response, and something that took me SOOOO damn friggen long to get through my head before I had the "awakening" moment.
-
Haha, I thought my "add vinegar" idea was so odd! Should've read the responses 1st, lol!!!

When I was a kid and my Dad was on some "fad" diet, he would mix some Hidden Valley Ranch w/ red wine vinegar and put it on his salads. I thought it was such a gross idea...but now, I will mix a little Hidden Valley Ranch w/ balsamic vinegar, and sometimes even add a drop of hot sauce for a kick. Sounds weird, but it…

What about like fried mushrooms? If I ate them deep-fried and battered, it'd probably be like 20 times the calories of the same amount of mushrooms raw, lol. Unless I interpreted your response wrong. Oh, plus the ranch dressing. Oh, the ranch dressing. How I miss fried mushrooms. They're ALMOST worth blowing it, lol.

I've already had 49g of carbs today between my banana and yogurt. lol.
-
Oh my goodness, I would have NO energy on 20 carbs a day.

I lost 60lbs on WW back in '08-'09...but...I was essentially doing the same thing as I am now on MFP, and I had to pay for it. I didn't have luck with WW after pregnancy, because I binged on fruits & veggies. It took me a LONG time to get this through my head, because WW had taught me I could eat "as much" 0pts/Simply…

It doesn't happen to me often, but Easter morning, I just sat there mindlessly snacking and snacking and snacking. I lost control for a minute. I'm glad that never happens to you. I don't see many people that don't have setbacks. My brain works a lot differently than yours, though...I've recovered from both bulimia and…

Thank you :)

he's not volatile. he's just...dealt with my bulimia/EDNOS/binge-disorders since we met at age 15, and he's done with hearing about my eating "issues." He thinks by me weighing my food and counting everything I eat, I'm going right back down that E.D. road...

I'm losing weight though. I've lost 13lbs since the end of January. I should NEVER have even said the word "plateau." Maybe I should just not change anything. lol. The mind of someone with a history of eating disorders is not the same as other brains, and the frustration and obsession of these exercise calories is just…
-
Weight loss is not linear, and it's definitely a long road. I've been underweight, and I've been obese. I'm just so desperate to be healthy for life, and not obsess about every single number.
-
That's why I put quotes around my "plateau." I hate that word, because I know 100% it's not a true plateau. lol. I think I worded the whole thing wrong. I think it's definitely all about me eating back too many exercise calories. I suffered from an eating disorder for mannnnny years, and this disordered eating mindset just…

Thank you thank you thank you. Your responses on these forums are always so detailed and informative and well-rounded and relevant.

Also, I've lost 13lbs since the end of January, so I am not looking for someone to dissect my diary, dude. lol. I'm doing just fine, but I'm just looking for the best way to keep on keeping on. jeez
-
OK, you got me on the 2,000 one. As you'll see, that's the only time I've EVER done that. Funeral...pigged out. No excuses, but I definitely didn't bring my scale to the funeral reception thing. Come on, how does one weigh EVERY single thing they eat? My chef husband made mashed potatoes, dished them out for me, about 1…

I'm not like at a point where I'm hopeless or anything, lol. I've had people tell me "just log every exercise as 1 calorie and just stick to your original calorie goal." Really? So, my goal is 1,200...you're telling me to go ahead and burn 600, and eat only 1,200 anyway? Net 600? I think NOT!!!! lol
-
Thank you :)
-
Most entries that are serving size are because I manually create recipes and then log them as 1 serving (I weigh all ingredients of everything I make). lol
-
OK, so it's better to keep myself set at sedentary and log workouts, rather than just set it to "lightly active" and not worry about the guessing game? I do weigh everyyyything I possibly can (solids to the gram, liquids usually in measuring cups). I had a HRM that broke, but I do remember the average calorie burns from…

I think everyone is missing my question. Crap. OK. Here's my question, absent of all of the personal details I gave: For someone who exercises daily but has a desk job and is looking to lose 2lbs/week, do you personally think it is better (meaning, easier, more accurate, less stressful) to: a) enter your activity level as…
-
OK. Yes, I know this. I don't really understand how that helps me answer my question, though. lol. I am just looking for advice from seasoned MFPers on the best way to determine activity level and enter calories out efficiently.
-
Oh yeah, I totally know I burn way more than those low entries. I was just entering those lower calories so that I stopped OVER-estimating them. I probably burn 500ish calories during a good Zumba workout, but MFP calculates it at like 700something. If I don't have my food scale with me and I end up under-estimating…

Thank you all so much for the replies!

You never ever ever ever make mistakes? Damn. That's pretty impressive

I was just all ready to be like HEYYYYY!!!...and then I just realized I'm only 29 for two more months. Crap. The reality just hit me. lol.

*eat...not *at
-
I definitely said "it's all about the deficit" twice. lol
-
It's all about the deficit. I "ate clean" for years and worked my *kitten* out more than anyone I knew...and couldn't figure out why I was gaining. Then, at a nutrition meeting at the gym, my trainer said something to me that REALLY woke me up: "If you eat 6,000 calories worth of salad, it's still 6,000 calories." It's all…
