For me, it tends to be about a week to 10 days for my weight to get back to where it was after such an episode.

Hi--I struggled with getting enough protein too. Then I found a site that sells yummy whey protein products. It's actually a post-bariatric surgery product, but I've ordered a bunch and most everything I've ordered has been really good (not a fan of the coffee creamer). The Holy Cannoli powder is the best! And the Cafe…

I think you look incredible--super job!! Definitely a big difference. And some people don't realize how much harder it is for us "more mature", ahem, people to make these changed!

May I just suggest that you try a NutriBullet instead of spending the money on a VitaMix? NutriBullet's are about $89 (less if you can find a 20% off coupon for Bed Bath & Beyond!), and those suckers can pulverize anything!! I love mine. I put everything in it--whole veggies, seeds, etc. Really great little machine.

I'm in for a 2018 JFT thread as well! I hope it helps me tackle smaller things, because I tend to want to revamp my entire life at once, which is unsustainable. Small changes add up to BIG results--right? ;-)

YAY, bjcrewe!! Well done!! Those are definitely two big accomplishments with which to start your day. That's a great carlorie-count for your first meal, too, cuz if you ate similarly for your next 2 meals, you'd be at around 2000 calories for the day. Perfect. :) I'm excited for you. Please keep us updated with how it's…

Congratulations!!! You look beautiful! Keep up the fantastic work--it ain't easy, but it's worth it! :-)

WOW!! I'm so inspired by your pics, because I'm built just like you ... sometimes it seems the legs will never get smaller--but you've shown that they do! Awesome job!!

Congtatulations! You look amazing, and I bet you FEEL even better than you look!!

I'm an emotional eater, too. My shrink also recommended Beck's book. I bought it with the best of intentions and started doing the work, but for me it wasn't a good solution because it's "too rational". When I'm emotional eating, I'm NOT rational. I feel almost like another person, like it's sort of an out-of-body…

Hi, ladies! What a great find this thread is! :-) I've been post-menopausal for about 10 years. I started going to the gym and working with a personal trainer at age 56. By making the famous "one small change at a time"--seriously--I lost 62 lbs. The very first change was stopping diet Coke. Then I started drinking more…

Hey, it's IndyGirl! :-) I got both knees replaced 4 years ago, and it changed my life. It will change yours, too. You've long been an inspiration to me. Thank you!!

I'm still working at getting my first one. WOW to you, and CONGRATULATIONS!!! :-) It's a bigger accomplishment than most people think!!

Gorgeous before AND after--your strength training results inspire me!

Work in progress. :) 62 lbs down, 38-ish to go ... pic

Getting into the 170's!! I've hit 180.5 twice and bounced back up, like someone else above said. Been between 180-190 for about 6 months now--that's TOO LONG!!!!! Come on, ME! ;-)

I think this is my favorite Before & After, just because of how you did it--by yourself, with no gym, no "diet", and just figuring out smart nutrition and exercise. BRAVO!! You're an inspiration!

How did you do this, fastpitch2015? Amazing--congratulations!!!

I have posted part of this pic before, but last night I put together 3 photos from the past 3 years. I've lost a total of 62 lbs. First photo was at highest weight (242); second one a year later (202); and last one this weekend (182). I want to lose another 43 lbs, to get to 139--but I can't believe I've made it this far!…

The photo that inspired me to FINALLY try to lose significant weight was me in shorts on a cruise a couple years ago. This weekend, I decided to take another one to see if I could see a difference--especially in my legs, which I've always hated. So glad I did--here are the pics. My legs, though still the same shape, have…

I was curious about Eat to Perform, too, after seeing their ads on Facebook. I think it's an "if it fits your macros" thing, geared toward strength training.
-
Wowzer--congratulations on all your hard work paying off in a big way!!

p.s. Oh, and my husband weighs 135 lbs soaking wet. I can smell brownies and gain weight. That doesn't matter in the big picture, either. Try not to compare your progress to his, or anyone else's. Just do the best you can and keep going.

My first reaction when I read your post was, that date-pressure (the upcoming trip/wedding) would do me in. Just forget about that. What is "worst" case--that you would be the exact same weight then as you are today? Fine. Focus for a little bit on finding something pretty/comfortable to wear for that time, at THIS weight,…

I'm 57 and have lost 15 more lbs since 2nd photo was taken! This is one of my favorite inspirational sayings. :) (I know--I need to get some NEW photos, ha ha ...)

Hi, Megg-- I'm so glad you're trying again! I've been there, and I probably started over WAY more than 3 times. But this time I've kept at it since Thanksgiving 2014--and I'm down 50 lbs! I have about 50 to go, but for the first time, I've stuck with it longer than just a few weeks/lbs. So it's beginning to feel POSSIBLE…

Here's another comparison of where I started vs. where I am now:
