6 miles. In 6 degree temps. Go me! Definitely ski mask weather but I will do anything to avoid the treadmill!
-
8 miles yesterday. I run a mile, walk a minute, repeat. Works for me! Keep up the awesome work, everyone!

6 miles today, weather was awesome, so it was a really fun run. Just me & my tunes

I'm in! Joined a challenge last week, can't seem to find it! I'm not tech savvy, to say the least! SW 10/31 155.6 CW 11/06 153.8 GW 12/25 145-148

I just got candy today, so it isn't going to be around very long. And I only got treats I don't like. I have to watch it because I'm really bad around certain candies!

You are so inspirational! I've had the same struggle lately myself. I appreciate your honesty. Best wishes to you for continued success!

Congratulations! Very happy for you! Keep up the fine work and get that new bike!!! I've lost 30 pounds (10 more to go) but getting a few pretty dresses for a girls' trip with my daughter was an amazing feeling. I used to basically wear the most covering, frumpy things I could get away with and hide inside them. It was fun…

You are amazing!

Phenomenal writing. Thank you for providing a framework for all my random thoughts about food issues/ weight loss etc. "Just show up every day" sounds much more doable than my usual "how am I going to stick with this forever?"

Feeling like I'm in charge, and I'm making healthy choices. The cravings used to be in charge. It may seem strange but for me, craving sweets used to pretty much be a constant thing. It was awful. I also enjoy when I see someone I haven't seen for a while and they're surprised by my progress.

@mchl1423 we might be twins haha. Just did my first half marathon and just turned 45! Looking to improve 5k, 10k and half times as well as lose those pesky last 15#!

I drank 5-6 24 oz bottles of Diet Coke per day. For 10 or so years. This is just my opinion, but I think all that nutrasweet was contributing to migraines and making me crave sweets. I tried many times to go cold turkey, but I just couldn't do it. I eliminated one Diet Coke per week, substituting black coffee, green tea,…

New here. 45 y/o, down 25 pounds, 13 to go. I'm a runner which I love, but I need to conquer a few things to get these last 13 off: 1. Binge eating (I hate even typing that but it's true) sweets and chips. 1 day every week or two I eat garbage instead of food. Yucky and keeps me stuck. 2. Not logging on MFP 3. Slacking on…

Newbie here. 13 pounds to goal. Just for today: 1. Run 4 miles 2. Log all my food, stay on my planned meals and snacks/ 1500 cal or below 3. Tidy up my house & plan for upcoming week 4. Family time - this really should be #1 "A little progress each day adds up to big results."

5'6" SW 178 8/15 CW 150-152 I've been maintaining that weight since 2/1/16. Did a half marathon so I put a check mark next to that goal on the list, now I'm ready to tackle getting to my GW of 140. It will be slow so I'm hoping to get there in 8/16. FWIW running has been great for my BP and my sense of well-being, but the…

You look so healthy and I love the "after" outfit. Lovely! Best wishes for continued success!

I ran for one year - didn't change my eating habits (which were terrible) one bit. Lost 3 pounds! I've revamped my eating using MFP since August 2015 - I've lost an additional 25 pounds! So at least in my case, the good eating habits are key! I only run 4 days per week and went from couch potato in August 2014 to half…

Did the same thing you did (gained after having kids) but from the looks of it, you took charge of your health about a decade sooner than I did! You look healthy and are a wonderful role model for your beautiful kids. Best wishes for continued success!

My half on 4/30 is also my first! Just tell yourself - you've got this!! Best wishes to you!

SW 178.8 8/15/15 CW 151.6 A couple mini goals - Half marathon 4/30/16 140# by 8/16 (losing weight verrrrrry slowly now!) Good luck everybody!

I appreciate everyone's honesty. My lie was that I could never fight the craving to overeat sweets. That it was more powerful than I am. Turns out that was wrong.
-
I'm no expert by any means, and I'm still a work in progress, but I've done better this time than my 1000000 previous attempts. I'm down 18 pounds from last year and run or lift 6 days a week. It's taken 14 months to even get this far. The things that have worked best so far: Small, concrete, achievable goals for exercise…

Best of luck to you! You sound determined and on the right track. Your spine will thank you for taking off the weight!

Hi all! 5'6, 173.8 SW 163.4 CW, been logging on MFP about 8 weeks. Goal about 140. Good luck to everyone!
