If you don't have any soy issues, yes. Some people have problems with soy products and don't realize edamame is soybean.

Protein shakes are usually high in calories, and you are adding ice cream and Oreos? You are having a large milkshake 3 times a day. Make the shake just with almond milk and maybe just once a day. Calories are calories, whether solid or liquid. A lot folks here Will also advise not to drink your calories in any form. It's…

i pack lunch every day. I have 1 and 2 cup size pyrex glass containers with lids, and dollar store shallow square microwaveable and freezable containers that fit everything from sandwiches to leftover dinners perfectly. I usually pack one of each - one for wet food, one dry food, or one hot/one cold. works for me. As long…

if you have a lot of muscle, 130 will look smaller than 130 of someone with less muscle. So you kind of have to wait until you're there to judge. Those are both in the healthy range, so it's a matter of how you want to look.

i do 1/2 hour right before sundown, walk/jog outside. when I was honest with myself, that was tv time - way more than 1/2 hour. So, really no excuses. I still have time for 1 show/night which is enough. and for me, good music is better than even good tv, so I look forward to my exercise because I look forward to listening…

at tjmaxx i can usually find workout tops/bottoms for under $10

It's doable! I've lost 38 lbs in just shy of 6 months. Started at 196, did it via mostly diet. Just started 30 min day walking/jogging because the lbs are getting harder to move. I do 1200 cals, 5'5". But I'm determined... Went over 1200 but under 1500 only 3x. I've never been a fast food and soda and chips person, so it…

I make a strawberry and rhubarb fruit salad. a container of strawberries, and raw rhubarb cut up small - as much as you want in there. 1 TBSP maple syrup, i use 2 or 3 packets Stevia with that to sweeten. lemon juice. a handful of mint leaves. Let the rhubarb, maple syrup, lime juice and sweetener sit for a while, then add…

I go like 2 or 3x a week, but I've got rules. #1 no drive through. If you really want it, you'll want it bad enough to park and go in. When there's a line in the drive through, it can even be faster! And #2 I only eat fast food for dinner - it keeps breakfast and lunch light and healthy and planned out so I can fit in what…

yes. it helps me figure out how to put meals together if I stick with the same size portions of each food item every time. Easier on the brain. Fruit/Veg/fresh meats are the exception because I'm not about waste food because of a weird sized piece of food that doesn't equally divide into servings.

i'm 5'5" and started at 196, now at 160. I've been eating 1200 cal for 5 months b/c I am sedentary. I pack a serving of baby carrots, a fruit (usually grapes or stawberries), one slice of whole grain 35 cal/slice bread with a serving of turkey or chicken or eggs, and a slice of low-fat cheese for lunch almost every day.…

i know the feeling you're talking about. I miss it too. But there just ain't that much leftover to discard if you don't eat stuff your body doesn't need and tend to be low in fiber.

i pack a lunch for work everyday: a fruit , a serving of veggie (usually baby carrots), and a sandwich on 35 cal/slice light bread, heavy on the protein (alternate egg salad, tuna, turkey, chicken, chicken salad, etc). Same lunch as my mom always packed when I was in school. (never ate school lunch. yuck!). There's still…

the salty sweat might sting, and I wouldn't wear long pants that rub on the skin, but otherwise, i think you're okay. Drink more water than usual - your skin needs to be hydrated. Aloe will feel nice and cool on your legs. There's something called Solarcaine that's fantastic for sunburn and sprays on icy cold.

i did see sports bras with separate boobs (vs. the squished uni-boob look) that looked like a regular bra/sports bra crossover in a store recently. can't recall the brand, but they exist! Racerback straps, but narrow - so i wouldn't think they're high impact, but if you're looking for a shapeliness/support/comfort…

nope. I live alone and eat almost everything out of a bowl, or straight from the pots and pans to save messing up another dish I have to wash. I don't have a kitchen table - so it's not like i'm sitting down to a plate of food anyway. I eat on the couch, but mostly standing at the kitchen counter. (I really haven't nested…

I would think you'd have to defrost them, and then pat them dry as best you can before cooking. Potatoes retain a lot of water, and the extra moisture will keep them from browning, as it has to evaporate first. When I make them homemade, I have to salt the potatoes, let them drain, and then my recipe calls for a little…

i'm on day 3. so far, so good. But I jog really slowly. I walk the same speed as I jog- it's just that jogging has that extra bounce in the step. I do have to really think about jogging slowly - i naturally want to jog faster, but this is about endurance, not speed. I tried starting a few months ago, and I struggled…

also used to hate onions. picked them out of everything. it was an irrational hatred. improved my own cooking skills and learned how valuable they are to enhancing flavor, and that they taste exquisite when caramelized (cooked long and slow until they turn deep brown. you can add them to almost anything). Doesn't mean i'll…

i sort of always equated veggies I didn't like with "not fun" and food should be fun to eat. I bought a spiral slicer, and I love using it, and it's really made a difference to veggie intake to have a bowl of "curly oven-baked beet fries", for example, instead of choking down a couple boring slices. It helps too with…

Think about the nutrition and value compared with other foods - I think up to about $.25/egg is a fair price. The reason you can get $.99/dozen eggs is because the stores take a hit on that staple item knowing that if you shop there because you like that price, you'll buy something else too that's profitable.

2x a week grilled chicken and ranch premium mcwrap. 470 cals. Have it for dinner. Decent amount of chicken, so decent amount of protein.

I have lost 35 pounds in 5 months - went from 196 to 160.5. I'm 5'5" and 31. But now my weight loss has slowed way down. I expect it'll take the next 5 months or more to lose the next 15 or 20. How quick depends partly on how much extra you are carrying on you. The closer to goal weight, the slower it goes.

down 35 pounds. 38D to 36C and that's getting to be roomy in the cup. it's sad. and they have stretch marks, and no i haven't had kids. they look kind of deflated - i guess fat filled them out. i'm 31.

5'5" Started at 196, now 160 lbs. I don't exercise intentionally and 1200 cals gives me 5lbs per month loss at current weight. I'm 31. A desk jockey. I could eat a little more and still lose, but I'm impatient and i've never felt so good. I know the weight loss will slow down the closer to goal I get, that's the way it is.

weight has come off everywhere except my butt. So now i'm a size 12 waist and belly with a size 16 butt! looks absurd from the back!

yes, prefer anonymity, so no picture. makes it easier to be frank about body issues. okay, fine, i'll admit it, I'm anonymous because I feared I wouldn't succeed or make progress, and would give up. I didn't want to run into friends here and then have it be painfully obvious if I bombed this attempt at lifestyle change. My…

i find that people can feel threatened by the lone healthy eater. They take it as an insult - like somehow I'm trying to show off that I'm better than them. Or they just don't want to be confronted with the fact that not all food choices are equal. Or they're on a mission to make you realize "health" food tastes bad and…

it took a month or two, but it helped me when I learned that I won't die if I eat to take the edge off of hunger and stop there. And longer than that to figure out the difference in sensations between physical and emotional/psychological hunger. I kind of had a false belief that I deserved to eat more. It works for me to…

Also fell into the "thought this was a healthy snack" trap only to find that healthy meant more nutrients than other choices but also more calories. 'health' food can be calorie dense. That's the pitfall. The benefit is not so much lower calorie, it's nutritious cals Vs. Empty ones. At least my brain doesn't always want to…
