Australia has a major mass shooting in 1996 which lead them to severely restrict gun ownership. It basically put a stop to mass shootings until there was one this year (that was small by American standards) , that was done with a gun stolen 20 years ago. In the US on the other hand, the last major mass shooting was... 5…

Some times everyday (out of routine because the scale is right there looking at me), others few times a week, and never on vacation. Maintaining for 9 years so I have a pretty good idea of what and how much to eat, and how my body responds to changes. At my age water fluctuations are minimal, except when traveling. I don't…

Thank you <3 !

Not necessarily. If the person wants to lose the weight fast, yes, a food scale is recommended in order to be more accurate. If the person wants to eat back all or part of the exercise calories, then a food scale will be better than estimating or using other measuring tools. My original goal when I joined MFP was to lose…

Pan-fried rainbow trout with Hawaiian chili-pepper water. Saute sweet mini peppers with onions, and Alexia sweet potatoes fries. But don't hold your breath because I am known to change part of the menu at the last moment... For desert, probably mango slices topped with Fage.

I can't ride the elliptical either. I am short, and it seems that my stride doesn't conform with the move of the elliptical. I can work in the ARC Fitness without a problem, while other people at the gym can't take more than 5 minutes in that equipment. I used to work in the treadmill for ever at a very steep incline until…

No, she is on pointe with the proper ballet shoes. They are pink so it may look like she is barefooted. Just look closer.

I am not a runner and I have never been or will, regardless of the weather (heat or cold). Our summers are extremely hot (So. Ca desert), with day time temps of 110F (43 C?) and above (reached 117 and 120 couple days in July), and even if our humidity is very low compared with the rest of the US and beyond, is very hot to…

HRT is the only thing that worked for me. You can ask the doctor for a low dose Rx, to take maybe 3 times a week, and the other days try Estrovan (OTC supplement). I had a total hysterectomy in my late 40s (I am 75 now), and I went into instant menopause (not fun at all for me). Since I didn't have an uterus, I was put on…

I completely agree with the bolded section.

I lost 14lbs nine years ago, so I am in maintenance. I still weigh and log but not very religiously or very accurately, and I skip the whole thing when I go on vacation, eating out, or when I need a break. The only reason to be doing it at this point is to keep a better control of my macros. I keep my wt within the 2 lbs…

@tec9goo What is the purpose of having a cheat day? I never understood that, or what it is coming from when we are talking about our diet. If you want to eat something different or higher in calories, just do it Log it, exercise more and/or eat less the following day. If a cheat day carries you to a cheat week or month and…

I am very careful of what and how much I eat when I am on vacation, since I don't weigh or log anything unless I am home and cook the meal myself. I don't drink alcohol and I don't have a sweet tooth, so I save a lot of calories. The other thing that I do is to eat at a deficit for few weeks before vacation (I am in…

I don't log water either, but I log coffee. Not for the calories, because I drink it black with Splenda, but just because it is part of my breakfast and PM snack. I only drink water (no alcohol, sodas or juices) with all my meals and also in between, and like #apullum said, I guide myself by the color of the urine to…

I am in maintenance and I set my own calories in MFP (I am not longer very precise with the weighing and logging). My workouts are not very intense anymore, and since I am a very petite/short older woman, I know that I don't burn that much exercising. I don't wear any trackers, I never did. I care more about the minutes or…

Post your question in the Spanish board and you may get more responses.

I am sorry for what you are going thru. Have you discussed with your doctor the newest treatments for osteoporosis designed to increase bone density and reduce the chance or the frequency of fractures? The new treatment are injectables done twice a year and they would not upset the upper GI like Fosamax used to do. (…
-
Nope, you wouldn't gain if you are at a deficit. What I was trying to explain is this (as an example): MFP gives you 1200 calories a day for a goal of 0.8g loss a week, and that is based on the activity level that you described (NOT counting exercise, just living and working). If you exercise and burn 150 additional…
-
@Fredrik1946 Welcome to the maintenance thread. If you are not longer loosing weight you have achieved maintenance!
-
@Hannahwalksfar If you are using MFP your exercise calories are not part of the activity level that you chose. You can still be light active with 1270 calories per day and then eat 50% of your additional exercise calories. Or if you prefer, you can use the TDEE method that already counts exercise calories.

Make chunky pork chili.
-
No, they are not good for me! Food that causes health problems are not good for you, or in this case me. Please don't generalize, but happy that you can eat chia seeds without problems.
-
I doubt it because MFP never gives anybody less than 1200 cals. Check your numbers again.

Reading the original OP, I don't think that @bellaehret said that she was not eating veggies or protein: In the past I only ate carbs every single day, hardly any protein or greens.
-
I don't track much anymore and if I do, I am not very strict. Vacations, holidays, eating out are never logged. I have been in maintenance for 9 years so I have a good hold on my diet (as a way of eating), and I have a good relation ship with food. I hope that things don't change in the future because weighing and logging…

I am back in my organizing mood! I don't call it "declutering" because every room in the house is in proper order (husband side of the office is an exception... :s ), but even when I do have order in my closet too, I needed to donate clothing items that I don't wear anymore. So I did that today. I found a second hand…

@NewLIFESstyle4ME I think that the scale is up a bit because your cute socks are heavier than the dark ones, not because you gained wt of any kind :D
-
They would probably send me to the ER with an acute case of diverticulitis :'(
-
@RubyRed427 Way to go with your control!! @NewLIFESstyle4ME Congrats on your success! But were are your cute socks girl? Those were the best part of the picture, besides seeing your numbers go down.
