  • I don't know how old you are but if you are peri or menopausal the hormones fluctuations can affect your sleeping patterns. In that case, you may need to talk to your doctor or GYN. Besides that, I agree with what @TheRealSlim_Shelly posted (get to the root of your problem), and I also recommend Magnesium (better to get Mg…
  • @TheOldBallCoach43420 Try to determine if the abdominal pain happens after eating a particular food group (diary, grains, fats, etc.). With aggressive wt loss like yours, the pancreas sometimes may be affected, or if you have been eating too much fat, your gallbladder may be upset. As other recommended the best thing is to…
  • Boring is a state of mind, make your maintenance exiting by rejoicing in seeing that the numbers in the scale are mostly steady and within normal range. Be proud of yourself for being resilient, organized, vigilant, and engaged in your health and well being. Great job too concentrating in your weight training!
  • 1) Please don't generalize. Someday you will reach her age or main (hopefully).
  • I avoid pop corn, regular corn and seeds. I eat mixed nuts few times a week but never more than 9 to 10 grams, and I drink a lot of water. Protein bars with nuts and seeds are mostly a NO food for me; but all vegetables, tomatoes and berries don't affect me at all, but I have to be careful with kiwi fruit, full grain…
  • I don't weigh eggs. I just enter the size, usually large, and continue with my happy life. if I am I using them for a recipe, then I weigh and log the other ingredients as well.
  • Nine years plus in maintenance; after planning to lose 12 lbs and ended losing 14lbs. I still log and weigh my food but not too religiously. Don't log on vacation or when eating out of the house. I go to the gym 4 times a week and take three yoga classes a week (I love working-out!). I am a much older petite lady so I…
  • That quote will apply if your house is set up with all the equipment that you need to do a proper workout. I don't have the room or the desire to have workout equipment in my house. No basement, and the garage is for the cars. And I like to get out of the house since I am already retired. I am 75 years old and I workout at…
  • I had the surgery at 48. Horrible hot flushes and brain fog, slight weight gain, even when watching my intake and exercising, and sadness. I was put on estrogen only since progesterone was not needed (no uterus). Even with HRT I had post-menopausal symptoms although not very strong. Few years later I stopped the estrogen…
  • Some free wt, exercise bands, stability ball, JM DVDs, Yoga mat, and foam roller. All stored in a closet and out of sight. I don't use any of these things too often because I prefer to work out at the gym. For me, working out at home is boring and doesn't inspire or motivate me much.

  • @ kelliclark805 What are your stats for MFP to give you 2010 daily calories, and what kind of daily activity level did you enter (without counting exercise)? How do you know how many calories are you eating if you don't weigh your food? Walking less than 2 miles per day is not an strenuous exercise that will help you shed…

  • What about your diet? If you don't keep your portions and calories under control, the walking will not help you much. How many calories did MFP give you per day, are you weighting and logging your food, what are your stats and goal?

  • Awesome @snoo61! Great hubby you have there, enjoy him and the clean house. :)
  • I was hospitalized with acute pancreatitis 8 years ago. It happened out of the blue one night after dinner. Horrible stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and the "runs". Rushed to the ER with a very elevated lipase enzyme. I was kept on IV fluids without food or water for 3 days, and with pain and anti-emetic drugs. Almost…
  • I am also retired and so is my husband. I/we do have a schedule for eating, and so far, my stomach has followed it without major problems. It also keeps the kitchen clean and in order instead of having to cook or prepare meals at different times of the day. If I am not very hungry I will eat a smaller meal, but I still eat…
  • Me too, and I hate headphones too :s .
  • I had a tubal ligation 43 years ago when the procedure was not so advanced as it is today. Back then it was an in-hospital procedure and I stayed overnight. The umbilical incision was a little sore but not too bad, but the gas pain was the worse. For what I remember (it was a long time ago), the nurse brought me a heating…
  • That is the reason why I don't meal prep. My husband and I don't like eating the same thing every night, and I don't ike to spend my Sundays coking for the week ahead. It doesn't work for us.
  • I like the idea of donating things that we don't longer need, want or overwhelm our household. I would do it in a heart bit. But how do you deal with your spouse's feelings and wishes?
  • We go food shopping every two weeks; sometimes more often. I don't have a meal plan for the week, just whatever I feel like making. My husband cooks breakfast every day, and I cook lunch and dinner every day too, but my cooking is very simple. Mostly protein and veggies for dinner, and salads or frittatas for lunch. I…
  • It is not awesome for me. It is salty and greasy no matter what :s .
  • Nothing. eat at home and just watch and enjoy the feature. I never understood the need to eat at the movies.
  • >:) >:) >:) to the bolded part. More than that I will be banned from MFP.

  • Sorry, but I would only eat them if I was stranded in the middle of nowhere, hungry and without food. I don't like sweet stuff and cotton candy is on top of the list. Just looking at them makes my stomach hurt.
  • @quiksylver296 I have no idea. My scale never leaves the kitchen countertop. Just in case, remove the battery and keep it in another place away from heat and make sure that is a new one and not corroded. Good luck with your trip!
  • @RubyRed427 Welcome back Ruby and happy to hear that you are doing well and implementing big and needed changes into your life. I wish you the best. Stay strong! Hugs. G
  • I don't have a TV in my bedroom; I never did. No tablets or lap tops. PC in the office. No cell phones in the bedroom; just the regular phone for emergencies. I don't read in bed. I stop eating between 7:30 and 8 PM. I don't like to go to bed with a full stomach. I do have night lights thru the house because I get up to…
  • Nope because I am the only one looking at my diary. I don't want to lie to myself, even when I am in maintenance. I am not very strict with the logging now, so if it seems that I don't eat enough is because I left something out of the logging. Either intentionally (I don't' know the calories) or by mistake. No worries.
