One of the joys and advantages of living in So.California are that extreme cold weather is never around. When it does, homemade soups and chili are a big help, but salads and fruits are a everyday stapler all year long.

If you want to reduce cooking time put the veggies in the microwave for 2 or 4 minutes first and depending on the kind of vegetable and the amount that you want to cook, and then put them in the hot oven. They taste great and cook faster.

Not for me. I tried that site before and I always get the same answer: Nothing found. It seems that small older ladies' bodies are not part of that gallery. How sad is to find out that once you reach certain age you don't count or exist anymore.

No, I totally ignore the scales and most of the time even logging, while on vacation. I am not a foodie nor I have a sweet tooth so portion control and activity is all I need and depend on to keep my weight under control. I have been maintaining for six years so the scales are something that I don't use all the time…

I think that you are the problem....

Nope, DT wouldn't allow it. He will encourage people to eat McD while traveling in a fancy plane. >:)
-
Not it is not! so please stop generalizing which seems to be another MFP mantra.
-
Nope, we went out for dinner (yeah no cooking!!) and had some turkey, mashed potatoes and string beans. No desert, bread or alcohol or dishes to wash. Perfect day.

Why? If you eat 4 oz of chicken you will be eating 112 grams of chicken. So what is the problem? I measure in oz or grams what ever I find more convenient and it has never affected me when I was losing or even now than I am on maintenance. I really never understood the reasoning of choosing grams vs oz.

Nope, they got bigger after menopause, even when I was within a normal weight (to a DD from a D). I have been in maintenance for six years and I am still a 32 DD. Your boobs will shrink if they are big due to fat and not due to a large gland. Not all boobs are created equal.

Not all knee and/or hip replacements are the result of being overweight. OA can hit anybody regardless of their size/weight. Just saying and to set the record straight...

This is how I make mine too. I buy in Costco the butternut squash already peeled and in chunks. I do add an apple or two, depending on the size, to the mix and if I have time I roast the apple and squash first because it does add more flavor to the soup. You can make large amounts because it freezes well. I also prefer…

Maintaining is not harder than losing and it can be as exiting and challenging as you want it to be. You guys are making it harder by just saying that it is harder. It is a frame of mind that you need to change. Be positive. Do you have pictures of your previous self? Well, if you do just look at them and ask yourself if…

Use the recipe builder.

Use the Recipe builder in MFP. Name of the ingredients, weight, number of portions, give a name to the recipe and the system will calculate the calories and macros based on the number of servings that you posted.

Nope. I only log spices when I am building a recipe, just for my own benefit and to know what I used as seasoning. I don't eat or like cinnamon, so that spice is totally out of my radar and pantry. I log my black coffee with Splenda for breakfast and PM snack as a routine, not because it is essential to weight loss or…

Very nice but these recipes belong in the Recipe section.

I agree with Sue that this is a question that you need to ask your doctor since your situation is different and especial. I will just drop these suggestions but please ask your medical team if these choices will be appropriate for you: Avocado, eggs, full fat milk, cheeses, ice cream, yogurt; olive oil, canola oil and…

Oh for Pete's sake stop the generalization. A lot of people lost, are losing and/or maintaining weight without a food scale.

OP, please consult with your orthopedic doctor and/or physio before you start doing weighted squats, DL, lounges or even running. If your knees AO is bone to bone, any of those exercises can make your situation worse, so they can recommend an exercise program for your condition. What is good for some people may not be good…

Useless for you, that's all. Please don't generalize about the usefulness or not, of gym equipment and do not start a controversy about another piece of equipment not even mentioned in the original OP. If you want to talk about or discredit Smith machines, start your own thread.

You are posting about motivation in the recipe section???? Please ask the moderators to move it to the right place/thread.

I have short legs (well, I am a short woman...) and the stride of the elliptical is hard and feels very un-natural to me and it doesn't help my arthritic knees at all. I prefer the ARC Trainer where I can choose different kind of programs and have variety in my cardio workout. The water rower and the ARC are my two main…

Make soups and stews and freeze them.

I want to share with you the muscles that the OP may send you.

May I share with you, pleeeease?

You eat in bed?

I didn't have much weight to lose when I joined MFP over 6 years ago (I had lost 1/2 on my own already), and I got to my goal weight without using a scale and even logging "generic" items in my food diary. I got a scale out of curiosity after reading the forums and sometimes I wish I had not because sometimes I am a slave…

Exactly the way I feel!! I don't know where that saying "badge of honor" comes from referring to scars or callouses, but for me nice looking hand (as best I can at my age) are better than callouses.
