He has type 2 diabetes so twinkies is the last thing that he needs and he may need to control his carbs too. Read his original post again please.

Dinner ends between 7:30 and 8PM, some times earlier; desert is 1/2 hour later, at the most but if I am not hungry I will skip it. We don't do late night snacks, and we don't go to bed until 11:30PM, sometimes later for me. There is between 12 and 14 hrs fast between the previous dinner and breakfast.

That is if you like and eat pie..

Yes, it is too early to talk Thanksgiving, at least in the USA! Let the turkey "live" a little bit longer and don't worry so much about something that it is two months away. Planning is good, over planning...not so much.

I have OA in both knees and I am getting one replaced in two weeks. My problem was not due to weight since I am a very small person, just due to wear and tare and most likely a lot of "wear" with kick boxing, karate, tennis and dance classes thru the years. But I don't regret it at all. According to my orthopedic doctor,…

I am in maintenance but I still trust the scale and how my clothes fit more than the measuring tape. I suck at taking measurements and the readings fluctuate more than the scale. I weight myself weekly and sometimes more often than that but I only take measurements when I remember. Which means a couple of times a year…

I never weighted pre-package food such as sliced cheese, raw bacon (something that I don't eat very often), breads, etc. in a consistent way while I was loosing, and I don't do it now on maintenance either. For me it was/is an overkill, even being a very short older lady, and too time consuming. But we are all different…

I agree with the first part of your comment. Well said! Not so much with the second part. You don't necessarily look “good naked” (whatever that means) when you lose weight, even if you are fit. And if you don't believe me ask the folks that lost a lot of weight and now have to deal with extra skin (a member posted her…

Don't believe everything that you hear. Harder for some, not so much or nothing at all for others. It all depends on your eating habits, your relationship with food and exercise, and what and how much to learn while you were losing. Edited because spelling in hard on Thursdays.

Boring is in the eye of the beholder. What it may be boring for some people it may be delicious for somebody else. It is all according to our taste buds and preferences. Some people choose to eat the same food all the time as a way to control calories, cravings and/or binges; others with more controlled eating habits,…

But better if you top it with some grated cheese and a couple of poached or "Pam-fried" eggs. That is what I call a nice and balanced combination. :)

I am not a drinker (no spirits, hard liquor or beer) but I do like to indulge in a glass of wine once in awhile while I can go weeks without drinking at all because my stomach can't handle alcohol very well anymore. I save exercise calories during the week if I know that I will be eating out or at friends house on the…

I am with you. At 1450 cals max and sometimes not even reaching that number, I am already stuffed. I would puke and be sick for days if I ate that much.

Please be aware that not every member in MFP has an eating problem, is fat or has at lot of weight to lose. MFP means My Fitness Pal, not My Fat Pal.

The bolded phrase shows your negative and gloomy way of thinking. You are using your stomach instead of your head and that approach will not lead to success. Change your frame of mind, learn how to cook simple meals, learn about nutrition and macros and exercise more, and you will slim down sooner than you think. If there…

Boy you really know how to make a wound bleed, don't you?

Thank you! <3

I only had about 10lbs to lose and only 6 lbs when I joined MFP; it was not difficult for me to get back to my "normal wt," so it was probably not fair or appropriate of me to post my original comment. I don't think that the only reward, satisfaction or motivation should be seeing the scale go down; we can get those…

Nope, it is not; at least it was/is not for me.

You will find lots of baked and grilled local seafood/fish options in Hawaii and also fresh vegetables and local fruits. Stay away or reduce your intake of tropical drinks, sugary juices and/or desert and you will be OK. Be careful with the sticky rice, if you want to control your carbs, because most of the dishes are…

Walks are good unless putting pressure in your knees gives you pain or a lot of discomfort; stationary or recumbent bike and the water rower may be better choices. You need to try and see what is best and less painful and damaging to your condition. My suggestion is that you talk to your doctor or a physical therapist so…

I haven 't eating any in almost 40 years. I win! They don't appeal to me either, and in my book there are better carbs choices to eat after a workout.

You are welcome!

I don't think so but what you can do is either save the link in a personal folder or copy and paste the recipe in a word document and save it too. If you entered any of your favorites recipes in the recipe builder, they should stay there for ever or until the system crashes...

I am 4 feet 11 inches and a much older individual that most of the people in MFP and my present BMR is 1034; although some sites give me a lower number (my BMI is 20.5). At my highest weight of 114lbs (almost 7 years ago), my BMR was 1094, so for me eating 1200 calories net (not counting or eating exercise calories), was…

I shall try a what toast for breakfast tomorrow :)

I like to leave it at the grocery store. Don't care for oatmeal.

Reduced sodium black beans with scrambled egg and egg whites. Thomas whole grain English muffin (1/2) with butter. Black coffee, water and vitamins.

I make soups, chili, meatloaf and stews in large batches that I portion and freeze. But that is done out of convenience (I don't like to cook :/ ), but other than that I don't prep or pre-log my meals. Of course it helps that I don't work any more...
