Finally indeed, but only after attention seeking fanfare.

Merry Christmas. Twas 3 weeks before Christmas, And all through the town, People wore masks, That covered their frown. The frown had begun Way back in the Spring, When a global pandemic Changed every darn thing. They called it corona, But unlike the beer, It didn’t bring good times, It didn’t bring cheer. Airplanes were…

I haven't shopped in TJ in almost a year, and I have one about 10 minutes from home. When COVID-19 started to rock the boat, the store and probably because it is not too big, started to line people out in order to provide save distance and keep inside occupancy to a minimum. I appreciate that, but don't like to wait in…

NOT ME! Cooking makes me crazy enough so I don't plan to make things worse.

US army scientists examine new UK coronavirus variant to see if it might be resistant to vaccine The vaccines are still useful because viruses mutate constantly, but typically not in ways that would render a vaccine useless, said Dr. William Schaffner, an advisor to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on…

FDA authorizes nation's first at-home, over-the-counter COVID-19 test "The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday authorized the nation's first home COVID-19 test that doesn't need a lab or medical provider's prescription. The test, made by Australia-based Ellume, can deliver results in about 15 minutes and will cost…

I am pleased if I get to celebrate it dinning out in a nice restaurant. Not only for the food but because it is a good reason for not having to spend time in the kitchen. But like @yirara, for me it is just another day. It used to be more important when I was younger; now not so much. But I do greet family and friends on…

The FDA were supposed to "discuss" and evaluate the observations of the panel, and determine what was going to be included in the package insert. None of those things could be done in such short time. I hope that the FDA didn't approve the vaccine today due to the fear of losing their jobs and under pressure from the WH.

I agree with the above statement, but I would like to remind you that even in the absence of co-morbidities people can and were infected by the virus and ended in a ventilator or even dead. Some co-morbidities can't be eliminated. Such as diabetes type 1, RA, cancer, heart arrhythmias (like A Fib), COPD (not caused by…

@RubyRed427 I don't do FB or sell things on line, so sorry that I can't be of help. What about asking your friend for tips on how to be successful as she is? Maybe she has a special trick under her sleeve. By the way, I like your grandmother's idea. Smart woman!

I just came across this article and I think that is worthy to share it with all of you. A few hours of flu-like symptoms? 'Absolutely' worth it for this woman who was in a Covid-19 vaccine trial https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/05/health/covid-vaccine-trial-participant/index.html

Without justifying or condoning allowing sick personnel to fill gaps in the hospitals ICUs, I would like to mention that they do wear protective equipment that could reduce, and hopefully/maybe eliminate, the spread of the virus, and they are working in isolated areas. But two COVID positive people, and maybe the child…

Vaccines won't end Covid so keep wearing your mask, top health official says Coronavirus vaccines will provide some light at the end of the tunnel, but they alone won't mean an end to Covid-19, one leading health official said Friday. "I would like to say vaccines do not equal zero Covid," said Dr. Michael Ryan, the…

Interesting and sadly, I am not near the beginning of the line. Hopefully I will be vaccinated before going on vacation in September 2021 :'(

Just log the type of exercise that you did but give yourself only one calorie in your exercise diary instead of what MFP gives you. You can keep track of the actual calories in the comments section so you can eat some. If you use the TDEE method, exercise is already included in the calculations.

Check and gift cards are the best presents to give this year. I am preparing a care package for my two kids and their families. It includes gift cards to the stores that they usually shop (they already sent me their choices), checks, disposable masks, disinfectant wipes, disinfectant gels, and coffee from Hawaii. All…

Summer: AC between between 77 and 78. With outside temperatures above 110 and sometimes at 120, it is good enough. We have two units because it is a big house, so I can control the temp depending where we are at the time and we always have the ceiling fans on. Fall/ Winter: not much heat needed so far. It gets cooler early…

@TonyB0588 do you mean "counties?" (no "r" between the t and the i) because me thinks that @snowflake954 was referring to world "countries." :p

I am thinking the same way. My husband usually puts up the tree but I don't think that he will be in the mood this year because it is only the two of us. I may put out some ornaments around the house and maybe get a Poinsettia, but that's about it. I am not a Christmas person anyway and this year I feel like the Grinch.…

@LoveyChar Thank you for the information about Best Buy recycling program. I didn't know, but maybe my husband does. It is helpful because I know that I have electronics parts to get rid of. A word of advise to all of you, before you recycle/throw away phones, laptops, tablets, or PCS, make sure that they are really clean…

So far it is known that a vaccine will block infection and viral reproduction in the vaccinated person by activating the immune system before the virus attacks the body; however, there is not proof yet that the vaccine can actually kill the virus and avoid shedding and population infection. Moderna boss says COVID shot not…

Really??? The US reported more than 2,100 deaths in a single day. Things are projected to get worse https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/25/health/us-coronavirus-wednesday/index.html

The vaccine promised to provide immunity against COVID-19 virus, and it has been reported that all of them have so far reached about 90% efficacy. What we are talking now is about the ability of the vaccine to kill the virus so a vaccinated person doesn't shed it and maybe infect another person. I don't recall nobody ever…

The Covid-19 vaccine might make you feel lousy (but that’s OK!) (resultsarein@newsletters.cnn.com) Americans need to be prepared for the possibility that they may feel a little unwell after they get a coronavirus vaccine, if one is authorized, members of a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory committee…

OMG!! I am not going to even respond or comment to that statement because I would be quarantined by MFP for a very long time. But if you have to ask that question, you really need to learn more about COVID-19. Happy Thanksgiving.

Changing the subject: The medical director of Moderna reported that just because the vaccine is effective and protects the person from getting sick with the virus, it doesn't mean that the person cannot still shed the virus and transmit it to others. So until we know that it is not happening, we may still need to wear…

I saw and read this article on line today and I thought of you and of many other people (myself and my husband included), having a “different" kind of Thanksgiving celebration this year, and the same for Christmas. The article also reminded me of another composition that I read many, many years ago in the Readers Digest…
