In the absence of proper guidance from your family doctor, you may have to reach Dr. Google for advice (see below). However, I suggest that you go back to your primary and request more detailed information, guidance, and a referral to a dietitian. It is his/her job to do that, and your right as a patient to get it. [b]The…

I hope that you talked to your doctor to get his approval before doing high impact activities. Most orthopedics doctors in the US do not recommend running after a TKR surgery unless the patient is young, slim/fit, had previous running experience, and it had been close to one year after surgery.. Maybe things are different…

We used to be allowed to correct/update the nutritional information if it was wrong in the database. Now we can't do that. At least not in the web version. We have to do a complete entry and put some kind of "marker" to show that it is the latest and the correct one (for now). That is the reason why the food database is so…

And Dr. Google explains it this way.... Intermittent fasting (IF) is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. It’s currently very popular in the health and fitness community. IF doesn’t specify which foods you should eat but rather when you should eat them. This means it’s not really a diet —…

@RubyRed427; @iradi8; @KeriA Thank you for your kinds words and get well wishes. I am doing the best I can but this is a lengthy and painful process since I have open wounds in both legs. The shock of the trauma is acting up and I have lots of body aches, and I am very tired and sleepy all the time; but happy to be alive.…

My organizing/de-clutting plans have came to a halt. I was in a car accident on 7/08 so I am recuperating at home and unable to do much. Two days in a trauma center and 7 days in a rehabilitation facility, plus the injuries and shock of the accident really knocked me down. I hope that all of you continue with your plans,…

@yirara " I don't log when I'm on vacation because it's too complicated. But it's working." This is exactly how I feel.

Two office drawers cleaned-up/de-cluttered/organized yesterday afternoon in the spur of the moment. They were in my list to-do this weekend, but I decided to start earlier. Many things went to the trash bin (including a phone-book from 30 years ago :o ), receipts and paper instructions from items no longer in use, etc.,…

It is good to see that this thread is still alive. I was planning to do some posting myself, so here I go. Thank you @KeriA for posting your accomplishments and plans. I have taken to the local library several old books for recycling already and there are a few more to go. I didn't want to drop them in the recycling bin so…

If the meals are for my husband and for me only, and I am the one doing the cooking, yes I do log just like a regular day of the week. However, if I have company or if I am attending a festivity I don't. I am just mindful of what and how much I eat. Happy 4th of July!

Thank you for the information ladies. I don't think that I will post in that section because it is not as easy and direct as having the info in the news-feed. I guess that MFP is not longer interested in keeping the users happy. At the present time I am only using MFP to keep track of macros, calories, fitness routine…

@Machka9 What and where is the activity feed? I don't see it in my home page. FYI, I use my PC, not the phone/app.
-
I don't have friends in MFP by choice, but I used the news-feed to make notes for myself and to record changes of plans or any changes in my weight, although I am in maintenance. It was nice and helpful to go back and read some of my previous notes and concerns. Let’s say that it was my diary. A private one. Yes, I do miss…

@lehtomakitoivo I am barely 4'11"" also small boned and much, much older than you. I gained 2 lbs. in the last few months due to medication and reduced activity since I can't exercise as much as I did due to my arthritis, knees problems, and cardiac arrhythmia. But I am still within my upper wt. range, and I have been in…

When I remember :'( I am in maintenance (14 years and counting) so daily or weekly weighting is not that relevant for me at the present time. How my clothes fit is more important. But in the loosing stages, I was doing weekly.

Only by 60 calories.

My daily food intake is often slightly below 1200 and I have no problems closing the diary. No complaints from MFP. Maybe because due to age, height, and weight I have a BMR of 837, BMI:20.4 and TDEE 1009. These values were not estimated by MFP but by other online calculators. I have my daily calories set up at 1200 (I am…

"Im definitely feeling frustrated..I also stick around 16,000 calories generally or lower ..Thanks" Unless you made a typo, that number is the answer to your problem... :D

FairLife (cow) milk has 13 grams of protein in 8oz and is lactose free with a long shelf life. It is more expensive than regular milk but you can use it in smoothies or with your oatmeal for a protein boost few times a week. FairLife has also a protein drink, lactose free too, with 30 grams of protein in 11oz in chocolate…

If the restaurant has a website with the nutritional information, I will take that information (with a grain of salt). However, most of the places that my husband and I eat at, are not part of a big chain. I don't bother looking for something similar in the MFP database because in my opinion it will never be accurate but…

@mcandi2011 As I also have sometimes lots of sleeping problems. It was recommended by my neurologist to take 200 mg of Magnesium Glycinate (not citrate) about half an hour before bedtime. Actually, that amount was too much for me and I needed to reduce the dose to 100mg or I would be a couch potato the following day. This…

Another zombie thread!!!! This one from 2015 and the OP hasn't been around since 2016.

Gym team here although I haven't been at the gym for a long time (health issues and limitations). I am doing PT now and I hope to return to my "almost" regular routine in a couple of weeks. I live in a gated community and we have two gyms available and doesn't cost me anything to use both or either since they are included…

Bumping this thread while trying to inspire someone to post their organizing and/or de-clutting latest achievements. I have been busy with the tax preparation and in the process I realized that many documents, un-necessarily accumulated thru the last few years, needed to be shredded. Last weekend, including this past…

I only use ground beef in my chili recipe. I buy 93/7 ground and I use the raw wt. in the recipe, plus all the other ingredients.

I have a hiatal hernia and protein, including protein powder, never affected my condition. However, you would benefit from asking your PCP for his opinion.

I clean up/purged some folders in my PC that I don't need anymore and my computer lost a lot of weight :). Amazing the things that we (or at least "I") save thinking that we may needed them in the future. Delusional!

I don't track spices unless I want to remember what I put in a recipe. I don't track supplements or the extra Benafiber that I put in the water. I track coffee (black with Splenda) because it is in the breakfast meal. I don't' track water. I don't track meals when I eat out unless the restaurant has the information in…
