  • I don't like that name.....
  • I have OA in my spine and a recent CT Scan (with and without contrast) showed a "developmental fusion of C2-C3." This problem never became evident in an X Ray. The radiologist and the neurologist that requested the exams (I was having tremendous HAs), think that the OA made the side effects of the fusion more painful, and…
  • I don't go very much off track during the holidays or on vacation, and I don't log consistently either. Holiday food is not that different for me than regular everyday food. I don't drink often either, and when I do is in moderation because my stomach can’t handle a lot of booze, nor I have a sweet tooth. Since I am…
  • You already posted in "Motivation and support," it's against MFP regulation to post the same question in two different threads. You can ask the moderators to delete this one.
  • This posting make me sad, very sad. By the time that you want or try quit smoking for somebody else, it could be too late. Not taking care of your health right now, will not do much for any child that you may have in the future. If you don't want to stop for you and wait for "somebody else to show up," then you don't…
  • I agree with the above recommendations; your doctor and/or PT should help you and determine which exercises are safe for you to do . But you can still do upper body exercises with dumbbells at home to burn a little more extra calories and keep your body active. In order to lose weight or keep from gaining, you need to…
  • She posted in three different threads. She is not going to get more attention doing that.

  • You track/log, and eat exercises calories if you follow the MFP way (NEAT). You don't if you use the TDEE method. I don't track exercise calories anymore. I log the kind of exercises that I do and the time spent doing them, and give myself 10 calories per exercise. With years of practice and experience and found my own…
  • I would pick # 3 and, if I did, I wouldn't care a rat behind about the consequences. A person, family, friend, acquaintance, or whoever, who makes such a nasty, uncalled for, and offensive remarks or comments, don't deserve consideration. I agree with @youcantflexcardio “put it in front of their faces, “ because it is an…
  • I agree with the rotator cuff problem. In that case, the XRay will not be sufficient but an MRI would. Let your doctor decide and slow down your exercises. Use ice on the area few times a day and Advil or Aleve (if you can take either of them) to help with the pain and inflammation. But only a medical professional can…

  • I had company during the weekend and we ate lunch out on 12/22, and we had homemade Xmas dinner at night. The next day I was almost 2 lbs over my happy/normal wt. but within my upper allowance. I knew that it was water wt. I didn't log or counted calories for three days but I didn't binge or overindulge either. I had one…
  • I don't have any kind of fitness tracker (I don't trust them) and I don't log exercises calories given by the machines or MFP either. I only log the time spent doing exercises and I log 10 calories per type of exercise, just to give myself a little "extra." Since I am in maintenance, I decided to set my own TDEE calories…

  • Nope, I never pig out. Not my style, but thank you for your wishes, and have a Merry Christmas.
  • How come nobody mentioned inability to use the ladies room (because I know that guys can do "it: behind a tree...)?
  • I like to make my own soup when I want, I have the ingredients and the time. I usually make 6 to 8 servings and freeze most of them. But I also have in my pantry Progresso reduced sodium soups for when I forgot to defrost the homemade soups or just want something different. They are low in calories and not too bad in…
  • I haven't read any of the other postings yet so I don't know what you were told or recommended, but I will be very honest: I didn't buy/used a food scale until I was in maintenance; and the only reason why I bought one was because I wanted to keep a better tally of my macros, and because it was easier to enter the wt. of…
  • If you enter the amount (properly measured and weighted) in your dairy, MFP will give you the calorie of the dinner and the breakdown of the macros. It seems to me that if you don't know if it is a high calorie dinner, you are not logging or using your diary.
  • Soup!!! I boil the back of the whole chicken and some of the bones in 2 cups of water and 2 cups of low sodium chicken broth, and I add the seasoning of choice. I let it boil for an hour or so at low heat, until all the meat is off the bones. I use the broth to make any kind of soup that I like, mostly vegetable. I add the…

  • Hello California girl!!
  • No way Jose! Sun shine, warm fall and winter temperatures (hot summers), greenery and flowers in my garden all year round. None of that white stuff near me (been there and done that). I don't mind seeing it on top of the mountains but I don't get near it anymore unless is life or dead situation. Enjoy it if you like folks.
  • I do it on Mondays and Wednesday. Chair yoga in the morning and the gym in the afternoon (strength training and moderate cardio). My workouts are not extreme, but on then other hand, I am not "new" in the exercise department, I am at my goal weight, and my fitness level is pretty good for my age. I can handle this routine…
  • 1) Eat foods that I like and don't worry about other peoples' opinions or thoughts. Make the meals nutritious and balanced, and keep an eye on the macros. 2) If choosing a more calorie dense food, eat it in moderation. 3) Exercise as much as possible but leave the ego at the door; don't bring it inside the gym. Push myself…
  • Nope, you are not alone. I don't like donuts either :D
  • It is exactly what I do, sort of my own TDEE. I only log exercise time, not calories (just log 1). If I am hungry after reaching my goal, then I don't mind to eat a little bit more because I know that sometimes I am below my calories. It seems to be working well for me too. I have been in maintenance for almost 9 years.
