@kimny72 I agree with your post (I just didn't want to write a long post with my personal concerns, and what I read and support from the scientific community). I also read another article just few minutes ago in CNN about parents being upset because they feel that the new CDC mask guidelines fail to take children, not…

This article with the explanations given by Dr. Wen, has a better information that what the CDC just put forward. What to make of the CDC's new guidelines for vaccinated people? Dr. Wen explains "The key is that vaccinated people are well protected, but the unvaccinated are not. The danger to them is not from the…

No choice for travelers, and I am good with that. I am planning to still wear masks inside stores and buildings. Eating inside is still something that my husband and I are not comfortable with not even with masks. Ongoing mask mandate for travelers: 'It will be enforced, period…

It is liquid so yes, it counts.

In California we seem to be doing well and in my county and community most, if not all, of the people have been vaccinated. But I do understand your concern because I feel the same. However, with so many people annoyed about the restriction when we were in the worse of the pandemic in the country, not traying to relax the…

Darn! I needed some good excitement.

Good morning @kimny72 and sorry for being late. How do you "untag" members in a post? I never did that before, but I don't want to remove snowflake since she is a good contributor to the thread. Besides it seems that she is baaaaack!

Below is the error message that I get when I click the tittle in the Notifications section. Two messages were from @Godlord1488, and one from @snowflake954. So weird! but glad that is still open because it is the only one that I follow. Reply Not Found The page you were looking for could not be found.

Is this thread closed? I know that three additional postings took place after @The_Enginerd on 5/09, but every time that I try to read them, I get an error message.

Here goes our hopes (at least mine).... But honestly, I am not surprised. By Apoorva Mandavilli May 3, 2021, 3:00 a.m. ET Reaching ‘Herd Immunity’ Is Unlikely in the U.S., Experts Now Believe Widely circulating coronavirus variants and persistent hesitancy about vaccines will keep the goal out of reach. The virus is here…

Nope, I don't make my own yogurt. Fage does a good job already.

@missysippy930 I understand that infections and deaths in a pandemic are always reported in relation to areas. I am referring to the human aspect of the situation, which is something that sometimes we fail to recognize and feel for, and not to statistics. I think that we are getting totally numb to human suffering and…

This is heartbreaking. I know that they live in very tight and close conditions in some areas of the country, and that is what COVID likes. Easy and total spread. @lokihen For what I read, there are concerns that pain killers, especially ibuprofen and anti-inflammatory med and mostly before vaccination, may interfere with the immune response to the vaccine. After each of my shots the nurses also recommended to take Tylenol, if needed to control any aches and pain, and to stay away…

Interesting and informative article for everyone to read and pass on. Click the link below to read the full information. https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/19/health/cdc-covid-guidelines-cleaning/index.html "CDC determined that the risk of surface transmission is low, and secondary to the primary routes of virus transmission…

I need to get it off my chest too. I find in the frequent and the recent lists, foods that I have not eaten in 6 months, but the ones that I eat more frequently are gone. What's up MFP??? And I also have the same problem as @derbygraham and everybody else. On top of that, the font keeps being small, and those pesty windows…

We are not completely out of the woods until we get herd immunity. We still need to follow safety protocols, and the CDC is investigating why some people got infected after vaccination, and some of them got seriously ill. Maybe the new strands, maybe vaccinated people feels too safe. Who knows! Sorry to hear about your…

#SbetaK Nice of you to be willing to help your friend in her time of need. Sometimes sharing stories and sorrows make things, especially the pain, easy to handle. I have never been in yours or your friend’s situation so I don’t have experience on how to handle that task. On top of that, I am also one of those people…

I wish I could say the same. My allergies (and sinusitis) are worse than ever. it has been a bad windy season in my neck of the woods, and since we have flowers, grass, and seeds all year round they have been flying everywhere, including the sand. Rinse, nose spray, eye drops. nothing seems to help. Not even a mask.

Sorry about your post-vaccine event Bon, and glad that you called the EMT for assistance. You were probably dehydrated and tired after a long wait. Hope that you are doing better today, just don't exert yourself. G.

Good for you, but I still do and will wear a mask inside any store, and I am fully vaccinated. I will wait for the CDC and health authorities to guide me.

I use MapmyWalk and it does record the route that I walked. I even get a diagram of it with the name of the streets. I walk in my large gated community so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, and I also have Google Maps in the phone. MapmyWalk also records distance walked, average pace, steps, calories,…

I felt tired after my second Pfizer shot too, and so did my husband when he got it. I even took a nap 24 hours after the shot, something that I never do, and I am 12 years your senior. We both had light body aches but no fevers or chills, and with the second dose the arm was not as tender as with the first one. Not bad…

I don't have an air fryer, but I agree that those chips look good and tasty.

You can buy instant Polenta (Cornmeal) in the store and cook it according to package directions. My mom used to do it from scratch and save the left overs in a square pan in the fridge. The next day she would slice them and pan-fry the slices in butter and top them with cheese. It was an inexpensive and tasting meal. A…

With all the talk about vaccine safety in pregnant women, I thought that this was good news and a good link to share. I cheer your optimism and postive attitude. However, I suggest that you keep the mask on and the distance with non-vaccinated people until we are told that herd immunity has been reached, and the variants are under control. Elevators are known for having poor ventilation. The worse place to be without mask and distance…

Good news! In addition, it seems that the mother's antibodies after vaccination have been found in breast milk too. That will give the newborn/infant a good level of protection. Although the study is small and not peer reviewed yet, the results are promising since the transmission of the antibodies in-utero (directly thru…

@SModa61 Astra-Zeneca is the vaccine being used in Italy and mostly in all Europe, and I don't know if J and J has any kind of agreement in Europe, and the same with Moderna and Pfizer. The link below (pretty recent) may give you more information, but it comes from Italy so I don't know how reliable it is. Ireland stopped…

Fully vaccinate whit Pfizer, and the same with my husband. At 77 and 81 respectively, we are not fooling around with the virus.
