  • Mfp has helped me lose 88 pounds this year. I'm about 15 pounds from my goal now. I can honestly say that I wouldn't have made it this far without it. I've learned things here that I plan on sticking with forever.
  • I didn't even log yesterday. Started the day with cinnamon rolls and chocolate. Then we spent a fair part of the day visiting various friends and family members. I had a bit of everything; Korean food, Italian strombolis, etc. At dinnertime, I made ham, carrots, green beans, mashed potatoes, and cornbread, with blackberry…
  • Leftover meatloaf, steamed broccoli and carrots, and a light english muffin with a laughing cow cheese wedge.
  • Just wanted to say good luck! I started here with a goal of losing 100 pounds. I still have about 20 to go. If you trust mfp and stick with it, it can be done.
  • My allotted calories drop by about 60 for every 10 pounds of weight loss.
  • I'm not positive that my old one was accurate, but it was consistent and seemed to be in line with my activity. The fitbit says I walked 2 miles in the grocery store this morning. No way that's correct.
  • If anyone expects me to post a pic of myself, they're out of luck. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't one in existence from less than 15 years ago. And that's the way it's going to stay.
  • I just add an extra 4 oz. of milk to my diary at the end of the day. I use skim milk which is about 10 calories per ounce. Even if I'm off by an ounce or two, it won't make that much difference.
  • I don't think I ever get much more than 60% of my iron. So far, it doesn't seem to be causing me any problems, so I try not to stress about it too much.
  • Oh yes. I have a 16 year old son and it is truly amazing to watch him eat. He's an athlete and trying to gain weight. Near as I can figure, he needs to eat at least 3000 calories a day. Scary. We're having frozen pizza tonight as a matter of fact. I fully expect him to eat the whole thing.
  • I have found that I can cut the butter and oil in most recipes by about half without much difference in the taste. Baked goods are a bit trickier though. I really like the Philly light cream cheese. I've used it in place of sour cream in sauces. Thomas light multi grain English muffins are really good, too. They've got a…
  • I won't lie, when my husband and I separated, it flipped my world upside down. It took me about 9 months to get my head back on straight. Once the fog lifted, I realized that I finally had the chance to take back control of my life and my future. One way of doing that is through trying to get healthy, physically and…
  • I still don't see a difference, but other people have said they can tell I've lost weight. My clothes are getting loose and the scale is moving, so I guess it's working.
  • 3 months, 21 pounds. About 70 more to go, hope to be there by next summer.
  • One day at a time. It sounds cliche, but it works for me. Every day I tell myself to just make it work today. I don't think too much about how far I still have to go, just what I need to do today. Someday I might eat an entire pizza or someday I might run a 10K. I can't predict the future, but I can control myself right…
  • I'm 47 and it's been very accurate for me. I have mine set for 1.5 lbs. per week and I've been losing about 7 lbs. per month.
  • Only 20 pounds so far, but yes. Last weekend, I had a cheeseburger on Friday and pancakes on Saturday. Tonight is penne and meatballs. I usually have a chocolate chip cookie or some ice cream almost every day. For me, the key is portion control and some sensible swaps. Single cheeseburger instead of a double, whole grain…
  • I made this mistake in the beginning. Two ounces of cooked pasta is such a tiny amount, I almost gave up on ever having it again. Two ounces of dry pasta is a pretty reasonable amount (still a whole lot less than I used to eat) so that makes my Italian heart happy. One thing I have been doing is using a different shapes…
  • I got mine from Costco. It's made by Taylor and cost around 20 dollars. I like the fact that it has ml., and liquid oz. capabilities along with the grams and dry ozs. The only downside is that it's a bit small so the display can be hard to see if you put a large plate on it.
  • We spend $120 per week. Family of three, 2 adults and a 16 year old boy. That includes non-food items like soap, paper products, cold meds., etc. We have one night a week to eat out, usually fast food or someplace like Ihop.
  • I've been living with chronic pain and restricted mobility for several years. A degenerative condition in the bones of my pelvis and hips. I'm hoping that taking off the extra weight will help with the pain and allow me to regain some ability to move freely. If not, it's either a pretty extreme and expensive surgery or a…
  • Can I just say Wow! I think you're doing great. You are beautiful and I love your attitude. I have no doubt that you will reach your goals.
  • I don't weigh myself until Wednesday. I've got my fingers crossed that any damage done will be a little less by then.
  • Just my opinion, but I like pink the best, with Splenda a close second. I find equal to be much less sweet so I end up using more of it and then it tastes too fake. I've tried stevia a couple of times and I think it's got a horrible aftertaste.
  • I had a light breakfast today and a small salad for lunch. I had a big slice of prime rib for dinner with mashed potatoes and veggies, but passed on the rolls. Had a small piece of cake and coffee for dessert. All in all, I'm over by about 100 calories. Still under for the week though, so it's no big deal.
  • Three months, so far. I haven't had any problems sticking to it. Very rarely hungry and I feel better than I have in years. I'm very careful to hit my macros as closely as possible and drink enough water to float a small navy. Of course, I'm a fairly short and middle aged woman who doesn't get a lot of exercise. Your…
  • Prime rib, asparagus, carrots, mashed potatoes, spinach salad, rolls, and apple pie.
  • I'm planning on having a "treat" on Easter. I'm eating approximately 200 calories less each day this week, which will give me an extra 1200 calories to play with on Sunday and still hit my overall weekly goal. Macros may be a bit wonky, but, oh well. There's no way I'm missing out on my sister- in- law's prime rib and…
  • I felt the same way when I started. I didn't own a scale and was scared to death of what I might see if I stepped on one. After being on mfp for about three weeks, I finally broke down and did it. I wasn't thrilled with what I saw, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Now I wish I had done it sooner, if only so I…
