I think it's very enlightened being honest. As a woman I agree. I stressed over one big day without setting myself up for a healthy ever after, after 23 years of marriage and all over the map on weight, I agree totally with what he said.

If I'm fixing meals or eating out I try to get dark greens in and protein. If I'm on the go I'll mix a egg whites protein powder with powdered "super greens" and almond or cashew milk. In addition I take a supplement. I normally go over my a and c needs and hit my calcium.

It is important to fuel your body according to your energy expenditure. It is common to overestimate a burn amount, machines are generous with the calories burned read out, it becomes a little trial and error finding that right refuel number. If you flippantly say don't refuel that's not sound advice. For example, if I've…

Whatever the device or machine or app gives me as my total I record half that number. The only exception has been the number given when I recorded shoveling snow...I earned that extra pancake! ;)

Coconut oil is wonderful for skin, hair and baking, it doesn't assist in weight loss.

I just feel better all around if I don't eat before exercise, so by time I get to that first meal it's after 11 at the earliest. I found it helps decrease my appetite for the remainder of the day postponing that first meal. All for I.F.

I train my brain by watching Food network while on elliptical. The last thing I want to do after sweating is eat, so I become desensitized to all that indulgence. If I want a treat I am still learning not to have all the food all the time. Moderation is hard to learn and accepting there may be trigger foods you'll never be…

I count them, though I will do a best guess for grams when I've weighed it all out thrown it in a big salad bowl and figuring if I have a third of that bowl, if I get 1 extra cherry tomato I'm not going to panic.

I wasn't ready for surgery (L4 and L5 and incontinence in case something goes wrong ) I was being treated by pill pushing "experts", you can only doc shop for so long before getting frustrated. So one day I said f it, I'm too young for this to be my life, started with a…

I take a hard honest look at what I want and what I need. I believe we get the two confused and make a whole lot of rationalization behind it. You got to feel it in your bones that you "need" to change this or that verses " oh I want to lose weight ".

My last word on this, I understand the necessity for western medicine, I immunized my kids, got them antibiotics for strep etc. I also feel there is a severe misuse of prescriptions for everything. The side effects for some of these meds are worse than the condition it's supposed to treat! A person needs to research and…

Before big pharma there were things found in nature to aid in health. Asian and native American remedies for wounds and illnesses are still used in conjunction in mainstream treatments.

Meh, just go and do a colonoscopy prep, it's cheaper and it'll have the same effect that'll last 2 days until you get your appetite back and rehydrate. I'M NOT SUGGESTING YOU DO THAT FOR REAL. Just pointing out the obvious; )

Sorry that you are dealing with all that. Always clear stuff with dr first, but for me (all sorts of spine and nerve damage ) reformer (that's the table with pullies and springs ) pilates works wonders! You don't necessarily need to have a gym membership, check area for pilates studios. I went from only being able to walk…

Sounds like you're very active as is. Don't get sideways over the term "working out". You don't have to dedicate a whole chunk of time at once to tone and burn calories. Lifting that baby counts! Wall pushups during a break, taking the stairs lunging while carrying the laundry. ..again it all add up. Good luck!

Yes supplements can help, but you gotta find your "happy place ". For me that's a 5-8 mile hike, clears the head . Find your activity…
