  • Hope everyone had a great weekend! I lost two more pounds last week, bringing me down do 172 lbs. I ate a lot of salty food over the weekend so I'm up a little bit again today, but hopefully I flush it all out by tomorrow. I'm itching to get to the gym tonight, it's such a weird feeling! I'm thinking about incorporating…
  • I used to eat a lot during, but with a little self control and determination I don't mind sticking to my calorie goal while on my period. After eating well for a while I rarely crave anything bad, but I still love chocolate occasionally. For me it was about putting my goal before my cravings, or finding a way to fit them…
  • @sellerskennington I've found side planks to be really killer on the obliques, mixed with glute bridges, and glute bridges with one leg raised. I'm not sure of anything for the inner thighs, but anything that works your thighs in general should work- lunges, squats, etc. Plank jacks (kind of what you're describing) are…
  • Hey all! This weekend was absolutely beautiful- the first really awesome weekend in upstate NY. I was outside all weekend, and couldn't be happier that it seems like spring might finally be on its way! I finished the 3 month daily burn program I have been doing on Friday, and today my goal is to actually get to the gym. I…
  • woo! SW (from last thread): 186 CW: 176 GW: 166 UGW: 140-150- not sure really yet, just going by how I feel at that point! I've been slacking a little lately and really need to kick it into gear again. I know we can all accomplish our goals!
  • @faelight definitely make another thread! Or maybe a group, but I'm not sure how that works. This week has been rough- super busy at work, and I didn't work out as much as I would have liked. That being said, I'm down two more pounds despite it! That brings me to 10 pounds lost during this challenge, just in time for…
  • I'm only two pounds away from 10 pounds! I really need to focus on eating better over the weekends- not being perfect but definitely keeping better track of my calories so I know where I'm at. I'm really happy with the changes I have been seeing in my body, and so proud of myself for doing this. It's funny how much my…
  • My favorite smoothie currently is a whole banana, kale, peanut butter powder, chocolate protein powder, a cup of almond milk, and some ice. So good! I have a juicer, but I don't use it very often. Pretty much only if I'm in for a weekend of drinking and want something vitamin packed to wake up to. My favorite juice to make…
  • It's that time of the month for me, so I've been staying away from the scale. I somehow lost my measuring tape, and have been too lazy to go out and get a new one. Plus, if I do that, the old one will show up again miraculously. So, this week is all about staying below my calorie goals, drinking lots of water, and hitting…
  • good to know, I'm all for simple. I just looked at and excerpt of Strong Curves and it looks great. Simple, and I love the tips on form. I will definitely be ordering! @sellerskennington‌ I use pinterest for recipes a lot, looking at the health and fitness section. Greatist.com has a lot of awesome recipes too! But mainly,…
  • @jlkermode I will check it out! I was thinking about New Rules of Lifting for Women, but I have heard good things about Strong Curves as well. Anything to get that booty!
  • @jlkermode‌ your dinner looks great! I have been using shrimp a lot lately- I have a ton of raw shrimp leftover from Christmas just sitting in the freezer. - this is just whole wheat penne, sauteed shrimp, organic crushed tomato, basil, and some grated romano cheese. It's delicious! And 393 calories per serving (I add a…
  • @yaafee‌ I love TJ Maxx for workout clothes and gear! Both my sets of weights came from there, but target also has low prices on weights. I got my yoga mat from there also, for way cheaper than anywhere else! I think it was 13 bucks!
  • @huango It's hard! I attempted Paleo at one point and it was very frustrating- I like the general idea behind it but consuming that much protein is so hard. I managed to get my protein intake up yesterday, but still not up to where it should be. I'm finding that to be at my ideal protein level I will have to add something…
  • This weekend was crazy! The company I work for celebrated their 30th anniversary this weekend with a big party at a casino- which meant lots of rich food and drinks. I kept it all in moderation, but still felt a little guilty. Sunday wasn't too terrible- we stayed at home but I still indulged a little. Ready to get back on…
  • I think the term "big boned" has become more of a nice way to say, or an excuse for being, overweight. So when you say you're "big boned" (which you technically are) people probably assume you mean overweight (which you aren't). Peoples frames vary drastically, and I would go with saying you have a large frame, rather than…
  • Really didn't want to work out today, and it probably would have been fine to skip since I've worked out every week day for 2 weeks, but I kept thinking about my goals and finally got up and just did it! I'm happy to see my motivation returning after so many years of being complacent about my gains, can't wait to reach my…
  • I'm in! I've gained a lot of weight since coming home from college and getting a desk job, and want to get it all off! This is just the start for me! CW: 184 GW:130-135 Height: 5'8" I lost 1.6 lbs in my first week, hoping that this time I can stick to it. I used to be very active and I want to get back to a place where I…
  • Take pictures! Even though your scale isn't showing it, your body is probably changing! Take your measurements, and log those along with your weight. Don't get discouraged just because you aren't seeing an immediate change- in the grand scheme of things two weeks is not a lot of time.
