I am going to add 500 calories a day called "miscalculations". Even though I measure my food (most of the time) and walk three or four miles a day (most of the time) and log all my CI (most of the time) and measure my CO in addition to walking (most of the time), I still really have no idea. Very true. I jumped the gun a bit, because I stayed in a couple of miserable jobs and regretted it. But I'm not you, and my jobs were not your jobs. As @sofaking said, give it time.

If you exercise, you will gain muscle. If you starve yourself, you will not. Everyone on MFP says to lower your caloric intake and that calories burned while exercising don't count - they are just a bonus. I humbly disagree.
