@neanderthin and @HoneyBadger302, love the bikes and the dialogue. My purchase of my Honda GB500 in May was the impetus for my current 25lb. weight loss. My gear did not fit and I wanted to look sexy on my sexy bike. This 53-year old female is flying in the face of 'old'. A term which I think is very relative, and very…

That's a pretty aggressive goal! Anywhere from .5 - 2lbs per week is safe weight loss. Have you changed your eating habits? There are a lot of posts in the forum about how weight loss is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise. Good luck to you!

As a way of controlling my eating window and perhaps shining a light on WHAT I eat, I've found occasional fasting helpful. I'm not strict about following a so many days per week schedule though. I think it will be a good tool for maintenance after I get to GW. That's what it is though-- a tool. Not for everyone, but if it…

Dr. Praeger's Super Greens Burger. Stay with me here-- so delicious with a poached egg on top with some cracked black pepper (no bun). Great for breakfast!

So, I HATE underwrite bras, I'm probably wearing the wrong size, but they either 'float' on me or cut in to me. Anyway, because of that I tend to wear bralettes or sports bras. This morning on a walk, I noticed my bralette stayed in place! Usually the bottom band over my stomach bunches and rides up.

@lilawolf very sorry to hear the news on the job front, I've been there. All the hard work isn't wasted though as you'll be so well-prepared for the next one. Need to re-center myself for the Month. I was AF all August, and only 2AF days so far in September. I've essentially taken the Holiday weekend and made it a 6-day…

@dethstar77, thank you for sharing and I'm very inspired by your story. I'm coming out of 'Alcohol-free August' and while I'm proud of myself, I had two other dry months earlier this Year, and my pattern has been to go right back to daily over-consumption. It's as if I tell myself 'see, I can do it, so it must not be a…

Enjoying a newly discovered AF beer after getting through August w/o a drink. That first week I couldn't wait for September and I thought I'd have my September 1 celebratory wine all planned. But here we are and I'm ok with waiting until the long weekend. Prior to the month, I drank every day. I'm curious now what…

@lilawolf it appears from your posts you are very well-qualified, very well-prepared, very-well got this! Whenever I interview potential employees, I WANT them to succeed. Keep that in mind along with the self-affirmation 'they'd be lucky to get me'. And, abstaining the night before is a good idea.

@ahoy_m8 I am so jealous! I have been to 93 countries (and counting, though most were work trips so kinda don't count) and the Amalfi Coast remains in my top 5. At this point, I'm always eager to see where else I can land and add to my globetrotting adventures, but that is an area I would return to again an again. I highly…

Happy Monday (or Tuesday as it is in other parts of the World) to All. Day 23 AF for me and I had an enjoyable weekend doing house projects and then a long hike Sunday. I can't recall who suggested I look for good AF beer at one of the many local craft breweries here, but I found a winner! Hoppy, flavorful, and less than…

@Healthymumlife I too am interested in what brand your sparkling white is, though we may not have it in the US... @globalhiker I report in to an office in Germany, so 2 or 3 days a week my workday starts at 4:30 as well. Today was one of those days, so I totally empathize. I'm trying to drink an AF Merlot this evening, but…

You might try a few things to see what else might work for you to quell anxiety. Music, as @globalhiker suggested, or herbal tea, a walk, yoga, meditation. There's an app I use called 'Medito' that I like. It even has 'sleep stories' to help you fall asleep at night.

Anyone else try 'Ritual' brand alternative spirits? I'm sipping an AF gin & tonic, and though it doesn't really taste like a regular g & t, I like it. DH does not, he thinks it tastes weird. It has a lot of botanicals, and they try to replace the warmth of the alcohol with heat from spice. Anyway, I'm glad I do like it…

Thanks @LazyBlondeChef! These look like great replacements!

10 Days AF and so far, so good. Past the initial cravings but this is a somewhat mental game for me. My work requires a lot of overseas meetings and so I start before 5 am a few days a week. My reward at the end of those 12 hour days is typically a big beautiful glass (or 2 or 3 or...) Of Pinot Grigio. It's habit, really--…

I do not see a lot of AF beer at the breweries, though most of the large domestic breweries produce them. If I do drink beer, I enjoy a very hoppy craft beer, which usually means high ABV, and you just can't fake that. My drink of choice though is wine, and I've never had 'lite' or AF wine that I liked.

@MissMay tracking is what got me here. It was only as I worked to keep an honest MFP diary that the trends in my daily drinking emerged. I found myself trying to eat less or even skip meals so I could have more alcohol and still stay within my calorie goal. Weekends are especially tough as my DH and I typically go hiking…

Hello All, long-time listener, first-time poster here. Going all-in AF in August as I did in January then April. This Thread is inspirational for countless lurkers on MFP, so thank you for keeping it going, for the humor, and for the reminders to be kind to ourselves.

The Food Code has some good episodes. You have to be able to handle a lot of millennial 'upspeak' (seriously, You Guys) and constant reminders that these ladies are experts because they've done the research and are Nutrition Coaches, but Registered Dieticians and Doctors don't know what they're talking about because they…

Whew. Done! Took my husband with me today and he couldn't keep up! He's very fit but apparently not great at walking fast 😁

30 min HIIT felt great. Anyone else having trouble accessing the Community section on MFP lately? Half the time I get a 'not available at this time' message
-
Done. Ready for the weekend!
-
Certainly, the 30 min HIIT Monday was a bit tough, but then 15 min today felt easy! Jogging has been tough on my knees, so I tried to power walk today. I also noticed my knees hurt only when I'm starting out, which tells me I need to warm up more. Typically, I'm doing these walks first thing in the a.m., and perhaps I need…

Yes, good walk. We had a cold front hit overnight in this part of Colorado that changed temps from near 90 to near 50, very windy! But did not have to fear the sun today

Doubling the HIIT time was challenging today, but in a good way

I took a short, casual walk for rest day. Looking to do 20-30 min bodyweight routine, any recommendations?

Feel better!

Nice Megan, and thank you for the clarification re pw vs. jog. I worked it hard early this morning for 30 min because it's going to be a hot day.
