I saved up 900 calories for homemade pizza on the grill and a skinny cow ice cream for dessert - delish.

LOL - yeah, this too.

I attached a link that has a calorie cycling/zig zag plan. It's really just varying your calories each day so you have some high calorie days and some low calorie days. At the end of the week the total calories whether you zig zag or just eat a set amount every day are the same. I have tried it and the high calorie days…

I use equal and 1 tbsp. of fat free half and half - 10 calories.

they are 400-500 calories depending on if you get them with milk or cream. I usually get a medium iced coffee with sugar free toasted almond flavor shot, equal and a splash of skim milk for approx. 50 calories.

I cant stop eating these, yummmmmmm.

I love that one. The Butternut squash Ravioli is another favorite of mine.

I'm 5'1", down 20 pounds so far with 40+ more to go. If you don't already have a food scale I would suggest you get one, it's really eye opening.

I don't belong to a gym either so I do all my workouts at home. I have a stationary bike, a punching bag, free weights, and Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds videos. I mix up my workouts so I don't get bored and on the weekend I try to hike or go for a walk. I've also been wearing my pedometer which encourages me to get…

I can totally relate, I feel like I could have written those same words. Pure aggravation is what motivated me to get serious and finally do something for myself. I struggle every day with sticking to my calories and the hard work is paying off, I am down 20 pounds so far. I can actually get up off the floor now without…

holy freakin moly !!! you are such an inspiration.

5' 1'' and down 20 pounds, 48 to go :)

great job, so inspiring.

I check in several times a day too and looking for some friends for support.

coffee, coffee, coffee - I love my coffee !!! Hot coffee in the morning, iced coffee in the afternoon.

I have wild weight fluctuations too and it drives me crazy. When you work so hard to lose .5 to 1 pound a week you want to see that reflected on the scale every week but it doesn't always work that way. I can see fluctuations of 2-4 pounds overnight. The only advice I have is to not obsess over the numbers on the scale, as…

All the excuses I was making started to get ridiculous. I was fat, unhealthy, and cranky all the time. I just woke up one morning and decided to take my life back, out of pure aggravation. I went into it with a different mindset, not the all or nothing rational that made me give up a hundred other times. I'm happy with a…

Welcome to MFP. I'm 46 and have lost 20 pounds so far. You will get a lot of motivation and good advice here.

This. I'm always looking for foods that give me the most volume for the least calories.
-
There will always be tempting food available, it's up to you to choose what will fit into your daily calories.
-
I also spent a lot of time whining and coming up with excuses, so I can relate. Sounds like you took some really good advice and it's paying off. Great job!!

This time I am looking at it long term rather than just a temporary "diet". I am eating the foods I enjoy at a reasonable deficit, not going gung ho crazy trying to drop 1000 calories a day which always led to binges. I am content with losing .5 to 1 pound a week. I bought a digital food scale and I weigh everything now…

can you elaborate on the inaccuracy piece ? just curious if you think they over or under estimate.
-
"I mainly use it for my overall calorie count and seeing how much I can stuff my face in the evening after a hard day outside" I love that !!
-
that's funny about the tan line. I'm also concerned about it feeling sticky when I sweat, which I do sweat a LOT when I'm exercising.
-
yeah, I was thinking about that - it would be nice to see them in person and try them on.
-
the Charge HR band looks really wide, is it as huge as it looks ?

thanks for that fitbit link, I'm sure I'll find a lot of good info there

Welcome to MFP. I can relate. I'm a 46 year old hormonal mess :) I feel like I need to work twice as hard to see half the results. Wild weight fluctuations from day to day can really mess with your motivation so try not to let that derail you. If you work hard and stay focused the weight will come off.

if it motivates me to move more than it's probably worth the money. decisions, decisions :) Thanks for all the great info.
