I'm assuming you've misinterpreted your doctor's comments? By the very least, #2 is likely a very crude BMR formula, or intended to be. I can't imagine any doctor suggesting that in order to maintain at 2000 kcal a day (so called average maintenance for a healthy individual), you'd have to be 200 lbs. If your doctor did,…

I have insufficient glandular tissue (IGT), so I don't produce enough to really bother, but I've noticed some of my mom friends on here log it as exercise. Makes the most sense to me, easier to adjust when you move into weaning, either by you or babe, or when the teething demons possess your child and it feels like they…

Bulk foods and sales. I live in a country with a horrific growing season, almost all of our fruits and vegetables are imported, and those that aren't are even more pricey because they are 'local.' Yet, by keeping my eye on sales and purchasing a used deep freeze, I spend less on healthy foods than I would on highly…

The use of 'may' and other terms that do not make definitive statements isn't notable or evasive; it's good empirical reporting. Research is based on statistics, which are essentially probabilities that an effect is true given appropriate controls for error. Any manuscript should be careful of making definite claims or…

My son turns 6 months in a few days! I've lost 35 lbs, 25 to go (to 30 lbs less than pre-pregnancy weight). Always love to have mommas on my friends list, add me! :)

I have the same two or three things for breakfast and lunch, but just out of distaste for putting effort into those meals. Dinner is always different. No real reason to restrict your food variety unless it works for you.

Yoga pants, tights, skirts, dresses, and if you're really ambitious, get to know a sewing machine. Alterations on most shirts/dresses/skirts are pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

I have a dial scale, and it's awful. Very sensitive to where my weight is distributed when I step on it and often has to be recalibrated when I get off. I just go with my average and lean back on my heels a little because that tends to give the highest result.

Add me, I love more friends!

I've struggled with EDs for the past 12 years or so. I've been hospitalized and diagnosed with AN five times and at several points I'm sure I would have met the criteria for BN and EDNOS (not at the same time, of course). My husband and I have just had a beautiful baby boy and for the first time in my life, I'm losing…

I buy and take them in. A few darts in the back saves me the pain of letting go of clothes I love because I don't fit them anymore.

You either missed the point of my post entirely or chose to ignore it. But that's alright. ;) The most basic definition of indicative is to show or demonstrate something. So lets follow the logic train. OP throws away cheesecake (food). You claim throwing away good is indicative (shows, demonstrates) an ED. What is the…

Some people with eating disorders throw away food (as a measure to conceal their eating disorder, typically, by creating the illusion that they are consuming the food they buy/are given/make, BTW). OP threw away food, therefore he has an eating disorder. People with depression experience sadness. Sometimes I am sad,…

I don't have a before and during, but since mid September 2014 (one month post partum), I've lost 36 lbs. Another 24 to go. Continuing my whole foods diet, but scaling back the calories, ashtanga yoga, and a lot of walking my cranky 16 lb baby. I used to run, but royally messed up my bad knee during pregnancy and am…

Added! We have virtually the same amount left to lose! I'm at 27.5 as of this morning.

I get awful period symptoms, including nausea. Back when I was running (before my knee injury), I would just compromise and give it 50%. Okay, sometimes less. To make up for it I would train really hard before and after my period. Kind of took that time of the months as 'recovery days.' We all need them!
-
You look gorgeous either way. Congrats on your fitness accomplishments! We have similar goals, as of this morning I have 27.5 to lose. Add me if you want. (:

Okay, so you don't agree with it, but that wasn't my question. My question was, is it any different? Because, to my knowledge, these are commonly accepted and reasonable practices. Yet this guy is getting a lot of flack for something I perceive as pretty equivalent. We've all wasted food at some point as the result of the…

Double post. Oopsies.

He threw out a piece of cheesecake. Is it really that different from not eating your full plate at a restaurant (maybe, gasp, putting your napkin or salt on it so you won't be tempted) or something going bad in the fridge because the total portion contained an unreasonable amount of calories? Someone enlighten me if it is.…

We're the same age and I started out with a goal of 60! 29 left to go. This is huge inspiration, you look amazing.

Honestly, I really prefer to keep it to myself. I would rather no one know, but that comes from twelve years of EDs and five hospitalizations. It's something that I feel is meant to be hidden. I've told all my close friends, family, and health care providers. I can't relapse again, I have a young baby. At the same time, I…

Haha, funny how motherhood puts you in the same boat. (; I look forward to losing weight with you ladies!

I pump and supplement due to supply issues. But I'm there, too. :) I'm pretty sure they say breastfeeding helps you lose weight to have another reason to get onboard, lol. Add me. :)

My babe is 6 months, I feel everyone on finding the time to work out/working out from home. The 4 month sleep regression was the worst for this! I wish you could log sleep deprivation as an exercise! Feel free to add me, anyone. :)
-
My little one is six months. I'm back at my pre-pregnancy weight and want to use this momentum to drop another 30! Mommas, feel free to friend me. :)
-
Gave birth in August! Down 35 lbs, 30 to go. :)
-
Add me! :) I'm new and have about 30 lbs of post-baby weight to lose.
