@lizzym911 in your case I would probably eat 1/2 turkey sandwich. Seriously when I was fighting lows in the middle of the night that was my go to snack (eat it right before brushing teeth and going to sleep)

@lizzy911 that would suck big time. Exhausting during the day never mind at night! @kensmith108 biking sounds fun especially in your Jammie's @mrron2u awesome job! I wish I had woken up to that number. For me 77 is a tough spot to be, I will probably be fighting lows all morning.

77 today

I get them really bad...like can't speak and shaking horribly. You need to document it and report it to your doctor. For what it's worth some doctors don't help much. My doctor told me I must have been drinking to get readings like that...he didn't believe me. Told me metformin doesn't cause lows. I did go down one tablet…

No I wouldn't. I have suffered from lows like that occasionally and I usually skip my medicine. Blood glucose might be a bit higher tomorrow morning. Do you usually take all your metformin in one dose? I was told to split it up (2 with breakfast and 2 with supper). Test your sugars frequently tonight and make sure you eat…

86 for me today! A little low for me but I will take it.

I am glad you decided to take the pill. It's there to benefit you. The first little while is always the toughest as far as accepting that "Yeah I have this issue and the doctor says I have to take this medication!"...it can be kind of depressing but at the same time this is your chance to live a healthier life. For myself…

97 this morning!

Cool! My nurse has always said that in the 70's is considered normal....I have never felt great but she said everyone is different. Your doctor will be very pleased with those numbers! Great job!

@kithrobyn that is a pretty low number. What does your doctor say about it? I don't know your story but my blood glucose was getting pretty low (4.3mmol) in the mornings and I was able to dial back my medication! But then when my sugars are that low...I suffer from hypos and feel it pretty bad! Although my diabetic team…

I suffer really bad lows without insulin...I have always had. I always had to eat a protein with a carb when I had it. Now I am on metformin (I was also put on insulin but it's been a year since I have had to take it) and I still suffer from lows (to the point where I can't speak) it usually happens when I am exercising…

100 this morning!

I am typically in the 90's and I am currently on 1500 mg of metformin. I was diagnosed 2 years ago and at that time I was on 2000mg metformin and was on 9 units of Lantus. The Lantus and metformin gave my liver and pancreas a break and I was able to go off of Lantus completely 9 months after diagnosis (my weight never…

Great job everyone! I went to test and my batteries are dead in my glucose metre! Maddox could be weather or a little bit of sleep....mine are super sensitive to those things! Cloudy 68 you will get there...just keep on plugging away at it! @snha you did fabulous! Great job!

At the beginning I had a few small issues but I quickly got over them as far as digestive issues. My body has the opposite effect now... I require a lot of water to keep things going and can get dehydrated pretty quick. My skin gets pretty dry so I tend to use baby oil in the shower right before I get out otherwise my poor…

A little late coming to the table but I had 5.1...91mg. We will see tomorrow what it will be as I forgot my pills this morning!

I personally like my numbers to be around 6.5mmol (117) to 7mmol (126). Anything more than that I don't like, as I like to leave a bit of a buffer. However my numbers are a lot lower than that due to my activity level and what I eat. My blood glucose levels are commonly around 5.5 ( 6.5 after meals, and in the 4's (72mg)…

That makes total sense! Your lucky to have an awesome doctor! When I was on insulin I had the same issues, especially when I lifted free weights (low weights, more repetitions) my blood sugars would go pretty high, but would lower within 20 minutes if that makes sense. I was able to eventually get off of insulin because of…

Thank you everyone, I have to say your BG levels are awesome as well! Great job everyone!

5.4mmol or 97! Pretty darn good!

Piece of bread with peanut butter IF I need it. I usually eat 1/2 cup of sugar free ice cream every night so I feel like I'm not depriving myself.
-
I test rarely unless I feel a low coming on. I usually test more when I have to see my diabetic nurse so I can say I have been testing lol...

I have dropped 30+ pounds and have yet to see a reduction in my metformin. I go for my a1c in about a week so I guess I will see then.

I personally wouldn't use them. I find that they are too processed. If I am in a hurry I would rather grab an apple, cheese string and maybe a homemade muffin (I keep in my freezer and bake them small) I want and need to know what goes in. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying they are bad for you but personally I like to eat…

Thanks for your reply...I will probably keep a juice box hidden from the kids for times like this!

@bbontheb it's like having a SUPER itchy mouth and throat. It's very uncomfortable and very obvious...I have never heard of a dry hacking cough but I wouldn't be surprised as symptoms of allergies come in different ways...might want talk to a doctor about it. You can be allergic to something and not show any…

Pizza was eaten in the morning and McDonald's was eaten the day before. Just wanted to clarify as it sounded like I had a food binge
-
It's funny you said this my husband has a lot of allergies (nuts, bananas, raw carrots, raw celery) everyone told him it was in his head as far as the raw veggies goes (frustrating)He eats a lot of cheese (low fat) cooked veggies. Have you tried cooked fruit in muffins?

For the record I wish I had a friend like you! It's quite refreshing for someone to actually want to help someone with this disease! I was diagnosed at 35 and I had never felt so alone and scared. So when someone like you sticks their hand out to help trust me it is needed! If she is still struggling with the depression…
