I'd be clinging to my kitchen window sill. Luckily we're only on the 3rd floor (US) so it's survivable...

Not at all. I now own a Polar M430 but I just use it for running. It does give you your heart rate as well as your sleep pattern but really I just use it for keeping track on trying to improve my mins per mile and resting heart rate. So purely as a fitness aid. It was cheaper than a fitbit with the same spec. I really like…

Sometimes, you just have to say *kitten* it. The food was good. You enjoyed yourself. Brilliant. It was a lovely break from calorie counting. You just have to accept it happened (was hopefully mentally good for you) and get back on the horse. Since you're at maintenance, social events or just lots of available food us…

A three mile run both days.

My current mini goal is to get to 10lbs down- I'm at 9.25 right now. After that, I want to hit 1 stone (14lbs). I've promised myself I can get my hair dyed blonde at that point (à la Jodie Whittaker). Hoping it'll be just after Easter.

I have to go cold turkey. TOM I get massive sugary cravings so I allowed myself a reece's cup pack and, in a surprise to me, I found it was just the right amount. Took the edge off my craving for that day. Unfortunately, I did spend the next few days continuing to crave but I put that down to having the extra sugar in my…

Dawn French has lost about 8 stone as she was due an operation and it was to reduce the potential recovery time.

run a marathon

Another with major depression and treatment resistant. I used to run casually in between episodes and it gives me a sense of identity and purpose even if I'm probably bumbling along at walking pace. But I started towards a grandiose plan of running a marathon in September but I've been suffering from extreme fatigue for a…

5'3". Currently 145.25 lbs. My official goal weight is 120 lbs and I'd be very pleased with that. Unofficially, 110-115 lbs for vanity. But so long as I'm a UK size 10 and I look okay in underthings and a swimming costume I would have no genuine reason for going below the 120 lb.

I like Precision Engineered Whey Protein Cookies and Cream.

Maybe a restaurateur or waiter/tress could enlighten me. Is there much call for most restaurants to provide better seating for the obese in terms of increasing footfall? I'm just thinking about how lots of women demanded larger dummies in clothes shops but it's made no difference to sales of larger sizes when it's been…

You look much healthier in the second picture.

I'm 5'3" and on 1200 cals a day, no exercise (well, almost never) and I've lost 9lbs in a month and a half. I've been eyeballing my portions or just taking the calories off the packet. As the others have said, weigh your food and hang on in there. Are you eating back your calories? MFP is planned so that you do. If you…

I've gone over by a few hundred calories if a nice pudding's been made (maybe once or so a week) then once a month I need a TOM sugar fest but I managed to keep it to a a chocolate bar and a small slice of birthday cake. Took me about 400 cals over but, Lordy, was it mentally just what I needed!

Excuse my having posted this elsewhere recently but I think it's pertinent... People often use the argument that 'athletes' can be labelled obese due to their level of muscularity so BMI is useless. However, one day curiosity got the better of me. I worked out the BMI of a range of female athletes in various sports.…

Managed to get back into a pair of UK size 14 trousers I had outgrown several months ago.

Very well done!

I'm 5'3" and 145.5 lbs. I'm on 1200 daily because I'm extremely sedentary for health reasons. I'm currently 9 lbs down in 6 weeks which I'm very happy with. I go over target calories a couple of times a week when I daren't offend family if something special's been cooked. But I don't sweat it. Once I've lost 20 lbs, I'm…

Oooh. Ta. Exactly what I wanted to know.

I should add that I've only bought brands that have fitted previously when smaller. Gap does the best bottoms for my hips and bottom. I had a pair of trousers from them that are size 10 I bought the one, brief time I was a 10 and the fit was great.
-
Ah, well. Bit late now...I'll just have to cross my fingers that they'll fit...Luckily I didn't spend too much as it was all nearly new.

My own is depression first, trying to exercise to improve it second. But depression can have many triggers. Some are situational such as after a bereavement. Sometimes it's chemical like my own. It might not necessarily be your weight loss. Although, after initial excitement you might have hit a slump. Or, it could just…

Just be aware that a nutritionist isn't trained anywhere nearly like a dietitian who needs a degree and professional registration. Anyone can do a short online course and call themselves that. Remember that you can only lose weight in deficit. The 'eat more' to lose weight thing won't work unless it gives you enough energy…

I want to be one of those really elderly women shuffling through a marathon.

Yup. People often use the argument that 'athletes' can be labelled obese due to their level of muscularity so BMI is useless. However, one day curiosity got the better of me. I worked out the BMI of a range of female athletes in various sports. Surprise, surprise, the ones I randomly checked were all in the healthy range.…
