Me too @ccrdragon! I’ve always loved Brazil nuts! I used to hate eating them from the shell, but now they have them in bags ready to eat!! I like walnuts too! I try to stay away from them since I can eat a whole container in one sitting!

I recommend a longer duration too. 3days will only confuse your body. Give yourself time to adjust and see how it goes. I’ll second the salt recommendations too! The electrolyte imbalance is one of the main reasons that people say Keto doesn’t work for them. You will have headaches, feel weak, have leg cramps... When we…

I’m primarily carnivore too, but I do eat dairy (it’s from cows) and I drink coffee and tea without any sweetener. I’m another person who doesn’t care for vegetables either.

I did just fly internationally in April. Both meal options were loaded with carbs. I recommend getting you something you would prefer from one of the airport restaurants and taking it with you. That way you can control your intake. I would still get the meal during the flight and eat what you want from it too. My flight…

Bump again!

Same here! I don’t need it! After four years of. Keto/Carnivore my body has regulated itself. I’ve, since, had my first colonoscopy that was perfect! Where a couple of years prior a Cat Scan had shown inflammation in my large intestine. Was even hospitalized (3 times before they realized in had an ulcer in my stomach that…

That is the usual time frame of that side effect. You’re doing exactly what you need to do already. It will stop, and grow back in soon.

I agree, that article is.very interesting! I wouldn’t think that Keto mimics fasting, it just makes it easier. The article is primarily discussing a molecule that’s produced by the body when you fast. This molecule is to keep the vascular system (blood vessels everywhere/even the heart and brain) from aging.

Please post and let us know how your weight does without the wine! I’m sure you will lose, without a doubt!

I began 4 years ago just doing low carb (150gm) and also found myself decreasing them rather quickly. Within 4 months I was at less than 20gm a day. This is the best way to eat and you get to eat all of the good food while losing weight!! It becomes easy once it becomes a habit for you. I recommend you read everything you…

It is the easiest I’ve ever done too, with the greatest results!! I’m so happy for you! It’s great to hear where you are! That’s so awesome!!

I’m 4 years, plus a couple of months now, into Keto, and primarily carnivore. I haven’t gotten bored with it. I’ve found this to be the easiest woe for me.

I recommend you keep up with everything you put in your mouth for at least a week and examine that to see what’s lacking. It’s not hard to let things slip when we get into a routine. We feel like we’re doing everything right, but when we see it on paper (so to speak) we can usually identify where we may have allowed things…

The ketones are a byproduct of the body burning fat for energy and seeing them on a urine strip is motivating! It lets you know that you are burning fat, which is the goal of the ketogenic woe. You aren’t losing anything from them being excreted via your urine. I can’t see a rationale for wanting to keep the ketones when…

I’m primarily carnivore so less than 10gm a day. @Hilogirl2018 i also have had relief from the migraines I was plagued with! I saw a gradual decrease in the number (8-10 a month to 2 at the most!) over a period of about 60 days.

I, also, began this woe through what I learned here on these forums, four years ago. I credit the knowledgeable moderators for guiding me to find what worked for ME. Never once was I told it had to be this specific way or it wouldn’t work. I was only told that it’s an N=1 and to take the information to find the balance…

My mil was telling me that she wanted to go by a particular store and see if they had compression stockings. A few hours later I was seeing adds for them on my phone!! We live in a time where there is no more privacy!!

Low carb is a great for everyone anyway! The carbs just aren’t good for the body, imo! I don’t believe you have to be in ketosis for weight loss. I do it for the health benefits I’ve seen (decrease in migraines and also a decrease in fibromyalgia pain)!

My local store only sells the flavored ones .. fingers crossed they get plain! [/quote] I’m sure you could ask the manager to order some

Wow! I would think staying at that low of a calorie range would keep you in starvation mode. Your body can’t lose because you aren’t giving it enough calories to run vital functions, imo. And yes, I understand having to eat to macros too. I would focus on getting the protein goal everyday, then setting the carbs, and fat,…

And welcome too!!🤗

Read everything in the Launch Pad! So much information there to help anyone at any level!! Be ready for carb withdrawals! They are a real addiction for the body and take a little time to adjust to not having them! Once you’ve made it past that it becomes so much easier! But definitely read everything you can! This is a…

@NicoleL874 I take magnesium citrate 400mg twice a day (you know us bariatric patients can’t get enough from just once a day!) along with all of my other vitamins. If I don’t get enough sodium in my meals I will take a sodium tablet too. And I know when I haven’t gotten enough if I begin having muscle cramps. The high fat…

Hey everybody! So great to see so many new people! It’s next to impossible to get all of the nutrition, and fluids in during the first week, or two. The key is to always have it available though. If you sit down, or go for a walk, and don’t have a container of fluids to sip on beside/or with you, that’s when you’re making…

@HelloBodyJoy I’m so sorry for what you have been through! I can’t imagine the loss of a spouse!! The pain must be terrible!! I pray the memories you have give you comfort and provide some peace for you! Being a grandma must keep you busy!! Keto is a great way of eating that can give us control over food we never realized…

I’m so glad to see more people here too!! This is awesome! I will say that the forums (Low Carber Daily, Keto, an Over 50 Ladies Group that’s sister to the low carb group, and a Carnivore group) have kept me focused on myself too. Everyday I pop back over here too to see if there’s any activity, so I’m so glad to see some…

April is going to be a crazy month for me!! We leave this Saturday for Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where we will get on a cruise ship. We will sail across the Atlantic Ocean with the first stop a week later in th Azores, Portugal! Then two stops in Spain! The we end up in Rome, Italy two weeks after we get on the ship! We will…

If it’s vegetable fiber I subtract (mentally) the net carbs from the daily total. Otherwise I don’t. (Some people get into subtracting sugar alcohols because they’re considered to act like fiber, but I don’t trust that. Though I don’t consume them anyway) But, my diet is mainly meat, eggs, cheese, heavy whipping cream, and…

Welcome!! Sending you a friend request!! You can do this! Read everything you possibly can to help you understand why low carb works, and is sustainable for life! Also, ask questions when you need to!

Imo, if you have any reservations about it then you should wait. The sleeve made me sick and conversion to rny has improved that situation, but I will always be faced with the malabsorption of nutrients and vitamins. I do have regrets on those levels. Also, you never get to stop thinking about your food choices. It’s a…
