Honestly I have not paid attention to it but I now have 25 says of solid data inputted to look at my over and under. My main focus so far has been to get used to healthy foods again (with the exception of Thanksgiving and 2 dinner party meals where I felt obligated to eat what was served only to be astonished the next…

I like how some people have said how much higher the scale was. I was up 1.6 pounds. Had a good day today so it will be interesting to see how many days it takes to get that off. My trend seems to be 4 days after a splurge day. Yesterday was mega-splurge.

I ate two days worth of calories. Back to a good start today though. It was so worth it.

Thank you for your comments! I am not new to lifting, but have been on and off since my youth. 55 years allows for lots of on's and off's, but I got both kids out of the house, both are living the dream in their own works of passion, and it appears 'possibly' that I will have a run time here where I have a chance for a…

No, it does not really matter, but I still like knowing the facts and information. My jeans are fitting better and I look and feel better, so that's what counts. And my blood pressure is perfect. I do intensely enjoy the process and journey so knowing how it all works and how my body might be actually working is part of…

I wonder how hard it is to get overweight being a vegetarian?

As to your question about "when" people noticed, I found it took 5 months. I'm sure we all show the loss differently which makes it more or less noticeable. I think it takes the body time to catch up with the lost weight for it to start showing up in the desired places that are noticeable, which for me were my jowls and…

Thank you Lorrpb and Zachbonner!

Ok.

Thank SS. Actually I just tried switching the exercises per week to 0 and you are exactly correct. :)

How does that explain the cars that run out of gas sitting in traffic, specifically during the evacuations during the hurricanes? The car is still running and burning up gas while the odometer is not moving. But yes, I understand what you were attempting and trying to say. Personally I would keep topping my car off with…

SezxyStef - thank you, that was very insightful. From what you said it sounds like if I am going to count my exercise calories then I need to not (on my goals page) sy I plan on working out 5 days a week at 60 minutes per workout. It sounds like by saying I work out 5 days a week that MFP then calculates that in to my…

BUY A NEW SCALE!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!

OP says: "Sometimes the home scale will change but it’s always above 235 lbs." "Most of the time on a normal day it’s at 235. But, for some reason my home scale steadily reads that I’m 235 lbs all the time." I think I am reading that her home scale is not reliable. Am I missing something here?
-
Her home scale is defective is what she is saying. Time to get a new one. If she keeps losing weight the doctors scale will continue to have an ever increasing calibrated difference compared to her current one that sticks at 235.

Buy a new scale and start over. I constantly got different readings from my home scale and the Gold's Gym Scale. So I carried my home scale into Gold's and weighed myself with each scale and acknowledged the difference so that when I weighed on either scale I would know exactly how much I weighed. Buy a new cheap scale,…

time for a new scale. $16.00 for a new digital very simple one at walmart.

I went from 213 to 193 in 4 months, took a break from this, then in the 5th month people started noticing. It was like I needed to eat more again for comments to start. Not that I did this for comments it was just ironic.

I can't eat chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and french fries with gravy on all portions. I mean I can, but you know what I mean. I miss my midnight blue bell ice cream with extra sugar and milk eaten with tostitos chips. I mean I can, but you know what I mean. But it was sure a fun break from dieting while it…

Thank you everyone, great info in your comments. HI MIDDLEHAITCH! Hip replacement recovery went really well. Full recovery. PT was brutal as is should have been. Yes I am now 55, put on a few extra and am getting them back off now. I went from 213 January 1 to 193 on April 1, which was a little aggressive but I had to get…

Luckily I have 21 hens, a rooster, and 4 brooding hens. A virtual unlimited supply of fresh eggs.

Daily weigher here. Started this diet Dec 26th. Yesterday was my lowest weight so far, but it took 25 days to get to this new low. Then lower today. So you pay a price by watching daily if you can't handle seeing long periods like this, which happens the closer you get to your goal. But I love the data.

If I had room in the day before calories, I put them there. If I am out, I put it on the next day. But it really does not matter.

I bet the hubs catches hell when the scale does not say what you want. I know of guys in his position who will be late coming home just so they can get their junk food fix in before coming home. Or have a stash somewhere at home. Then they are blamed for being sneaky if not even dishonest.
-
Poor guy! Now you say you are just trying to help him? I have been on the receiving end of those projections myself. Let him be or he will get passive aggressiveness as well.

High sodium is a scale killer but not a weight killer. I never knew sautéed spinach was such a sodium bomb, or that lentil soup was a sodium nuclear explosion, same for frittatas. I now pre-log what I am going to eat to see what evils are lurking in what I thought would be healthy food and scale friendly. Unless my wife is…

I hate tread milling, but I do it so that I can eat more. Sometimes this way of thinking is necessary for people like me!
-
Yep, seems like people should be able to get a truly accurate total, message MFP and MFP make the change immediately after having done a little glancie to see that the replacement info is clearly an improvement.
-
THANK YOU!!!! Yep, I feel totally robbed if it was really 388 calories. It seems like it should have tasted like Blue Bell HomeMade Vanilla Ice Cream with Salted Pistachio's mixed in for that calorie total. I certainly don't feel as fulfilled after this lunch as I would have if I would just have passed on lunch and had…
