Larissa, thank you fur the grammer/speling correction, which is very important two staying in shape. And know, I don't tend to assume that people do not really mean what they say, which is another way of putting what you jest said. Knot that I am trying to say that all of those compliments that you receive are not…

lemurcat, your analogy is so off. Using your analogy it would be correct to say that 1 lb of fat is the same as 1 lb of muscle, but 2 lbs of fat does not weigh the same as 9 lbs of muscle. So, yes, 1 lb of you weighs the same as 1 lb of your sister, but you weigh more then her because you weigh 159 and she weighs 126, so…

lkpducky, yes I think muscle and fat are the same thing... What was that comment about? Do you think a car is the same thing as a swimming pool? Lol. I think you must be hungry.
-
Sorry Carlis, I will remember that it is Kimney from now on.
-
KIMMY NO!!! A pound of fat weighs the same as a pound of muscle. It is one pound. One Pound = One Pound. One Ounce = One Ounce. This will help answer another persons question in this thread about "Are there really people who think muscle weighs more then fat?" Yes, there are people who think this. This thread is living…

lemur, I can take two pics of myself right now and put a caption on each saying 220 and 195 and it would be believable. I can relax my belly, and bend back a little more to really make that belly look softer and larger. In the other pick I can suck it in, flex, lean forward a little, mix in a tight fitting shirt versus a…

CatOfTheGa...-LOL. Fact, NO muscle does not weigh more then fat? Weight is weight. How can you say that after first saying you have 'a degree' in this "stuff"? I think you are now trolling this post.......no other explanation. I bet you would also say that "It was on sale, so I made money on the purchase".

I think these kinds of photos need to show the person in the same outfit, with the same expression, with the same hair, both with or without glasses, same lighting, showing same side, just identical in every way pics, otherwise I don't buy it. Kind of like those weight loss before and after photos, where there are so many…

In the 136 Pound Photo, that woman is sucking it up and sucking it in. Or maybe the poster got the numbers reversed.....

Each time I have gone to a high school or college reunion I see people who continue to weigh the same but never work out, they just watch their calories and maybe have really good nutritionally based eating habits. But over time they continue to get to be smaller and smaller people, both men and women. So I can see how yes…

Maybe so galgenstrick, my story is that my muscles are feeling more solid which in my logic means they are going in the right direction, and I am sticking to it! :)
-
Annaskiski, I was not trying to sink anybody's 'battleship' (or jump on their case) with the 'discussion' and not the 'argument' that muscle doesn't weight more than fat. I started the post, I was not countering someone else's post making this claim. Are you a little hungry right now? :)
-
If you are lifting weights or doing 'muscle strengthening' exercises, the assumption would be that you are building muscle. I am 5'10" and 202, down from 213. I need to be around 185. So are you saying that my every other day upper body weight training is not building ANY muscle while I am losing weight? I am not arguing…

I feel like the information that I entered in my goals was pretty fair and accurate. My goal is losing 2# per week, which is what gave me the 1,500 gal per day. I guess if I start losing more then the 2# per week, I might need to up the calories to 1,800. I think that is what I am hearing from the comments in this thread.…

That was an awesome read, but I am not this hyper anal about my logging. What I DO know is that I am logging my food pretty close, if anything I under report, and on the burn side (exercise) I tend to report fewer calories burned. But I only have 10 DAYS of data now, and no clear amount of weight I am losing per week to…

What do you think the adjusted protein amount should be? And what would?should the other two percentages be set at? I am thinking Whey Protein would be a good addition for that protein.
-
Woah, just noticed in my goals, that grams seems to be reversed on fat and protein. Or am I reading this wrong? It reads Carb 188g 50% Fat 50g 30% Prot 77g 20% If Fat % is higher then Protein, shouldn't the number of g's also be higher?

Yep, upper body is flat, incl & decl bench, curls, triceps, 3 sets of sit up crunches, shoulder press, row, fly, dumbbell solder raises, traps. Pretty much the same workout I have done for 40 years plus/minus a few exercises. Asking again, are ab crunches bad for you?
-
Trigden, can you explain what you said? No I am not looking for a "six pack" for sure, but if my abs can look better that is a plus. In conjunction with the other two comments, is it fair to say that: With playing tennis, doing upper body and mostly power walking (I am not a runner), and starting to work in some lower body…

THANK YOU try2again! That was perfect.

Thanks! I am more asking about how long it takes what I eat today to work through my system and hit the scale? Maybe there is not a solid answer to that and like you all are saying it is more a blended trend constantly moving around but if we do it right the trend will keep in the right direction scale wise.
-
Every morning for me. I always think how much it would suck if I only weighed weekly and that day happened to be my only bad days weight of the week. That would send me into a funk. Plus I like to have all those numbers available to later look back at trends that I might be interested in seeing. It's kind of cool over time…

I want to party with YOU MalkinMagic71! Don't forget the chocolate shake to wash it down with...

Thank you for your comments!

Damn apullum, and she just took my plate away with those crunchy delicious croutons on it......

Wow about the cheese. The waitress said the chef said it was 2 ounces. I will see what 2 ounces of cheddar looks like when I get home. It certainly did not look like a lot of cheese. And it did not look like 5 ounces of chicken either. HA! Maybe this was the old sales thing of wanting it to sound like I was getting more…

I hope this is the pic of you being proud of yourself! You look skinny. To answer your question you can reach any goal if it is reasonable.

Great comments. Thank you!

I don't think OP liked any of the comments...

I am sure OP is the most solid and honest person on this planet and only has our best interests in mind. This place can become self promoting vehicle though with those not as solid and honest a person as OP. We have seen it before.
