G'Day Wazzer. Thought you were an Aussie with a name like that, but the UK is my original homeland so that's just as good ;) Welcome to the best and friendliest place on MFP. Hope you have great success and meet many new friends here.

So far as I am aware, sparkling mineral water (the unflavoured kind) is just as good. Can you cope with that? As to real water - I can't get room temperature water down my throat for love or money, my throat constricts! But very cold water from the fridge is no problem at all. Have you tried both temperatures?

Thank you dear Kate, Kitn and Ellen <3 Last time he had an operation (to repair a hematoma in the femoral vein in his groin thanks to a push bike accident) he came out of it with a blood blister on his 'pride and joy'. When he saw the gorgeous young blonde surgeon a week later he was brave enough to ask why. It seems the…

Thank you @Ellen and @Kate me too. It was truly amazing! The surgeon came around before he did the work and wrote on the 2 Davids with a big, thick felt pen. A big arrow up the shin to the correct knee, and then crosses where the exact pain was. Both men were having meniscal tissue removed from their left knee. So…

@foamroller thank you for the interesting information. My waking hours are 9.30am until 2am (both moveable, but not by a lot) and I have a non-negotiable main meal around noon, or 1pm, before my husband goes to work. I'm ready for it by then. Sometimes I eat all of my meal, sometimes I save some of it for later. 'Later'…

Hi Everyone *virtual hugs to you* and thank you all so much for your healing thoughts for David. We’ve been home for about 2 hours now I think. I'm jet-lagged and not thinking straight. We've had to move our body clocks forward 4 hours in too much of a rush so we could get to the hospital for admission time. All went…
-
I don't think you/we are doing anything wrong Ellen. It could be that our bodies have a heck of a lot of health recovery to do before bothering to work on reducing fat. That's what I'm clinging too anyway. On my good days :D
-
Aaah @deksgrl thank you - I have heard that word before and I think you're right. @Kitn oh wow, that sounds *beautiful*. I've never seen anything like that here. I was bought some T2 brand green tea with mango and sunflower petals for Mothers Day and it's the first time I've ever like green tea. It's so nice. I know yours…

Oh wow @Kate what an amazing idea! Did you know there is a fruit named a chocolate sapote? It's real name is 'Diospyros nigra' or 'black sapote' but they say that it tastes exactly like chocolate pudding, or frozen like a chocolate icy pole. Not sure what icy poles are called in the USA, but it's usually just frozen juice…

David just rang to tell me that we're forecast 6°C tonight and if I want to put the gas room heater on, please do. He knows I try not to. It's a very large living area to heat and seems wasteful just for me while he's at work. My pre-LC cut-off temperature was 20°C and anything below that I absolutely froze to death. I'm…

That's awesome @samko 40 is fantastic and well on your way! I love to use the song because it keeps you at a regular pace instead of slowing down, and takes your mind off it a bit too LOL Ha ha @Kate that's great news! I find it hard to make my butt feel anything too. 'They' say that lunges are best for butts, but I don't…

Thank you everyone, I loved face painting so much!!! @Kitn that's so very exciting about your clothes, I'm thrilled for you. And your happiness at rewriting the story of each garment too! Because my waist and tummy have stayed fairly much the same size I haven't really been able to do that yet, though I've bought some…

Thank you @wabmester <3 I will see if reduced stress leads to improved weight loss I guess. My naturopath has put me on valerian before bed each night and, now its gone, I can see that I was a bit wound up before. That's just how I am, get overly anxious for the least reason. I'm supposed to take 2 capsules but am only…

Thank you dear Karlotta <3 Thank you dear Ellen <3 I think a 40g goal is fine - we can do as we please with it after all, which is great - not like CICO. I know what you mean about food. It just 'is' and the thought of messing with prep for hours on end is far from appealing. And yes, I had a bit of a commenting slump over…

Hello Everyone <3 Well, I've read and loved all of your posts - and all of the posters (by which I mean each of you!). You're truly the most beautiful group of ladies on the entire web, not just MFP!!! But I am so far behind that I simply can't go through every post and reply to everything that I want to. That makes me…

@Wabmester are you still out there watching this thread? Now I have my BP in order do you want me to take 'before bed' and 'on waking' BP readings? The last 4 mornings I've had... BP Pulse 120/78 65 127/74 60 114/75 66 124/71 62 But didn't take bedtime readings. And my weight is now down to 100 grams less (*AT LAST!!!*)…

I wish it didn't get cold here Sajyana. The winter days aren't bad and you can regularly just be in a t.shirt outdoors, but I freeze at night. We have a gas room heater and I block off all the doors I can and turn that on. It gets down to 2°C minimums on the coldest nights; probably around 12°C on the warmest winter…
-
Hope you settle in Sajyana. I raised my carbs to 40ish from 15ish a couple weeks ago, but not because I felt I needed it. It was in the hopes of kicking a new loss. However, I've taken to it like a duck to water and feel better than I did before. We're all different huh? We're on our third rainy day. Had some really heavy…

I've been doing a fair bit of rowing on our new machine, and then climbed 8 floors of stairs yesterday. My quads were getting like jelly by the 4th floor, but I saw it through. Just wish there were some stairs available to me on a regular basis, but the nearest ones are an hour's walk away. Or 7-10 mins drive and then paid…

I've been LC/Keto since 23rd January and I found this really interesting and helpful (for what I did go through ie racing heart and heart palpitations). Thank you.

I'm so happy for you!!!

I would truly have loved to take part in this, but I don't/can't eat steaks or minced meat yet. I haven't yet been ready for beef, lamb or game, and could never bring myself to eat rabbit or duck (poor little innocent things!) So... would it work on eggs, fish, pork, bacon alone? Haven't tried a pork steak yet, but we've…

Probably TMI now I've typed it but... And I don't choke and gag when I clean my teeth any more. Some nights I couldn't even complete the job because I'd be gagging so badly. Now I don't even do the little cough, which was always a precursor to the gagging. It became obvious, after things had changed, that my throat had…

I get plantar fasciitis too. Yup, kerb - same word different spelling, as usual ;) All understood and I will do that. Thank you Carly!

That's fantastic, congratulations on achieving these results so quickly. *And* for disallowing your mother from having an opinion. We don't need bullies and their opinions thank you very much ;) Wishing you all the best for your maintenance phase.

Thanks Jane ♥ Glad you enjoyed the article Ellen. And I can understand why you chickened out of eating the apple. We are faced with hard decisions at times that's for sure. I truly hope that your belly disappears soon too ♥ I was up 100 grams today, but my fat intake was greater than I would have chosen yesterday at 127…

Thanks @DonP and @Keliandra I held onto a door frame and could squat so that my rear end was about 2" from the floor. Pretty sure the problem is short calf muscles for me. So I will do that daily (or more, knowing me) and see if I can get them stretched enough to look like a third world lady. Have been using a rowing…

Thank you @Foamroller. He's in good condition - or was until this laid him up from road jogging a couple of months ago. He continued on his treadmill until about a month ago when even a fairly short run left it worse. He then did hill walks at a good pace on the treadmill. But we've now given that away and bought a rowing…

Thank you everyone for sharing your experience and knowledge, it's all really helpful. Not at all. You and @Dragon are both sharing from your heart, and a place of concern and I value that very much <3 You don't have to agree. Medicine always has opposing ideas and data, and I appreciate knowing both sides.

Ha ha welcome 'secret friend'. I'm glad you've announced yourself and we're happy to have you :)
