A lot to think about here. Not so much decision as it is habit. If I don't stay focused to make the healthy decisions, then habit takes over and I do what I've always done. Good post to cause me to think healthy.

Right now, my goal is to walk 88 minutes per day. That translates to 10,000 steps as measured by my fitbit zip. Nice motivating tool.

10,000 steps daily, walking, as measured by my fit bit zip, which I checked against time as being accurate.

I belong to a TOPS support group and we aren't doing so well. I just realized that I am affecting the weight loss of the group by not losing weight myself. I use this as motivation to do what I need to do daily to lose weight. If I do this, I am confident that the TOPS group will start losing weight.

Sounds like me. I also need to lose about 40lbs. I, too, have medical issues that keep me from walking for exercise, which I used to do. I do the stretch bands now, which takes a little more effort, and I can still do gardening, which is slow right now, but will pick up when spring arrives. I do belong to a TOPS chapter…

Watch for times when you are tempted to eat then pause and decide if you really are hungry or is it an emotional urge to eat. If it's the later and you realize it's just an emotional urge,, then you probably won't eat it.

Pam, Can you tell me a little bit about the fitness challenge you are participating in? What exercises you do, how you track progress, that sort of thing. Millard
