Congrats on making your health a priority!

I'm laughing. You made me think of my mom who recently told me the same thing. Congrats!
-
I'm sorry about your health challenges. Take one step at a time and you will be fine. Best!

I think I am a pear shape. My body looks fine but I think I gained a lot of fat around my midsection that is just taking extra time to come off. Thanks for your thoughtful comments and sharing resources. I think I will do something like this: M-weights-yoga T-jog W-weights-yoga Th- jog F-weights-yoga S-circuit or interval…

Thanks for your perspective.

Thanks guys. I know that people say you can't spot train, but I have a Pilates Scs that I used for a while maybe 5 years ago and my midsection definitely shrunk. Since dec 31, I have been walking/jogging 8-10 miles per week and my thighs are shrinking, but not my midsection. Lol. Anyway, I have thought of yoga and Pilates…

Thanks guys. So I gather that by alternating lifting and cardio days, the cardio won't be counterproductive? If so, great! I had been under the impression that I'd have to put cardio on the back burner...decreasing to maybe 30m per week.

Thanks. I dabble with weights for about 3 times per week, 10 minutes each time. I am not familiar with circuit training. I did crossfit a few weeks. Is it a kind of circuit training?

Recreation center?
-
I should add that I job 3 miles, 3 times per week. Do I have to cut back to gain muscle mass? If so, will I maintain my endurance (jogging the full distance in under 40 minutes)?

Try lifting weights, boxing, etc. Be creative in finding ways to work out your arms. Otherwise, just focus on overall weight loss. Best!

Great work!
-
Just cut all added salt.

I have been at my halfway mark for about a month. I am looking forward to my end result. Set a goal and keep at it!
-
Katillac, I am in for the challenge if you are still gamed! Starting tomorrow?

Great!

Nice!

Great!

Just do it! You will do awesome.
-
Awesome! Awesome! Awesoooome!

70 days from today is around my bday, so I will join in. I can't do a 1000 calorie deficit either though. I can manage about 800 calories, which will give me about a 15 pound loss. How do you burn 2600 calories?
-
Thanks for the idea. I can't join in this week, but am interested in maybe posting weekly affirmations in the future.
-
Congrats

I weigh daily, so I thought I'd do myself a little justice by seeing how much I lost the entire duration of this challenge. My weight on April 1st was 180.0. My current weight is 164.4. Not so bad after all!
-
I lost another 2.8 pounds, 5.8 total since I joined you guys in early/mid May. Not bad! Congrats Everyone! I'm sure you've made progress as well.
-
Nice work!
-
BTW-great progress!

Examine your motives. Are you being fearful or avoidant? Do you subconsciously think you won't reach 160, so you are avoiding pursuit in efforts to remain in control of the process. If so, get rid of the baggage and move forward. If not, you simply have a decision to make--comfort or health? Best!

Hi OP. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this, but pair your carbs with a protein. They will break down more slowly and probably lessen the crash that you're describing. Monitor yourself closely so that you can negotiate what's best for you with your doctor. Best!

Great!
