I started 1.5 years ago and lost 50 pounds rather quickly. My advice would be to establish a routine that you enjoy or can learn to enjoy and reasonably challenge yourself to keep yourself on your toes. Set short term goals and keep at it until you hit you ultimate goal. Best!

I didn't notice significant changes until I lost 30-40 pounds. You'll get there.

Thanks for the advice. I am starting core training tomorrow. I have to talk myself into weight training and get a plan in place, so I think March 1 is reasonable for me. Amber sounds like we have similar goals. I am going to look up the new rules for lifting now.

I'd say it also depends on you. If you are good at being consistent and delaying gratification, set your loss to one pound per week and maybe put in an extra workout per week. If not, you may need to do a bigger deficit to see initial progress, keeping in mind that you're in it for the long hall. Or do a combination. When…

Just wondering for future reference and because I've seen others with moderate deficits who exercise a lot and don't eat back calories. I, myself, don't burn nearly that many calories but might end up with a 700-800 calories net once or twice a week.
