Deficit

If I have a 1500 calories allowance and burn 1000 with exercise daily, will my body respond the same as if I ate 500 calories with no exercise (aside from metabolic changes due to exercise). I guess I'm wondering if your body is not getting enough calories either way.

You would get far more nutrition from 1500 cals of food than 500 cals of food despite the calorie balance being the same in your examples.

On the other hand that volume of exercise would put an enormous strain on an undernourished / under-fuelled body.

But either way would be totally unsustainable and harmful.
Unless you are tiny 1500 could already be a substantial deficit.

    What's the rush?

Just wondering for future reference and because I've seen others with moderate deficits who exercise a lot and don't eat back calories.
I, myself, don't burn nearly that many calories but might end up with a 700-800 calories net once or twice a week.
