  • So I should stop putting salt on my cottage cheese?
  • Everybody does, and withdrawals a *kitten*!
  • The only harassment I've ever had to deal with was the CIrcuit Nazi Team, Queen B(kitten) who harassed everyone who wasn't doingbthe circuit exactly the same way they were. Which was like, everyone. While most people realized that sometimes you have to circle around an older person, or someone might mistime thier routine…
  • Even if there are just fast food places around, you can usually order just plain eggs, or sandwichless meat and cheese. Jack in the box I can get two fried eggs, by themselves or a breakfast jack no cheese for a decent breakfast, and the chicken fajita pita without the pita, grilled onions or cheese. Mcdonalds, two folded…
  • I can see my knee when I sit down! The left one. The right one is still a mushy dough blob at all angles. Not sure WHY my left leg is significantly thinner than my right, but whatever. Progress is progress, right? :p :D
  • I miss my smartwatch so much! It died a couple months ago after almost 4 years of being awesome. Now I'm saving up gift cards to buy whatever is the best of the new ones in the fall.
  • It's very possible that your stomach just doesn't like that much oil at a time. Maybe try skipping for a few days, then trying again, to be sure it's the oil. Then skip a few more days, and start with a smaller amount for a while. You can always ease up to more if you want to, and your stomach handles it.
  • ...sleep was not a thing needed for health and survival.
  • My mother in law lost a ton of weight, then my sister in law started losing and gave me her fat clothes, on her way down. Sure, theyvare both very sweet people, and SIL has great taste in clothes, (and absolutely was not trying to be backhanded or anything) but still. No WAY are they going to accomplish it and I can't!!!
  • It's probably not permanent, sadly. Those kinds of drops are common, possibly because of mild dehydration, possibly some of it because, as the above poister noted, you physically had less in your system to digest at that moment, and some just random fluctuation. Depending on your last weigh on, you could also have had some…
  • Swimming and water aerobics are also great low impact, resistance exercises that really help exercise your whole whole body.
  • Sadly Moose is rather hard to come by here in California.
  • Nope. Love brownies. Love avocados. Combining them is an atrocity.
  • Yes usually inflammation will cause a bit of temporary gain, and sore muscles definitely count in that area. It's pretty normal.
  • You actually have a great first step in realizing that night time binging is your big problem. See if you can break it down even further. What is happening right before? What are you doing while eating? What kinds of foods are you going for? What is your reward for eating at that time? Once you know the hows and whys, it…
  • You don't get along. That's life sometimes. Either make a real effort to include her more often and be family, or be cordial when you meet, invite her when it's good for her father that you do so, and otherwise don't worry about her.
  • If you have a problem or risk for bigh blood sugar, and apparently if you are pregnant (I assume a gestational diabetes thing) than even fruit sugar really needs to be watched. It can cause serious health issues if you are already at risk. Otherwise, a certain amount of fruit sugars is good for you, especially when it…

  • Don't think of it as starting over again. You are finding and using tools to improve your habits, which will help you lose weight and stay healthy. To figure out what works best for YOU, you need to identify all the individual habits and behaviors that are sabotaging your success. Log EVERYTHING. Don't JUST weigh (with a…
  • There are so many plans, because there are many ways to cut calories. Some of them are healthier and more nutritious than others, and some work better for some people than others. The best plan is the one that helps YOU lose weight, while staying (or getting) healthy, that YOU can actually stick to. How do you figure out…
  • Theres no reason not to, as long as you don't have any health issues that prevent it. The good thing about circuits is that it combines cardio and weight into the same routine, so it is a more efficient workout, especially for beginners.
  • Most gyms will offer a tour and a few free days for you to decide what you like. They are a great way to try out what is available in your area. Just be prepared to keep strong on all the sales pitches you have to listen to, lol, until you have tried several places.
  • They are pretty inexpensive. My Ozeri was only $10 on Amazon. Personally the features that are most important to me are cleanability, portableness, and being able to tare or adjust between oz, grams, lbs and whatever else. If it has a permanent bowl, or cant just be wiped clean with a clorox wipe, it will be a pain in the…
  • Think of your calories as a daily budget. First buy the stuff you need to stay healthy and satisfied. The veggies, fruits and lean proteins are generally going to be the most important healthwise. Then the satisfying fats and healthier treats. Finally add in the awesome and unnecessary but oh so good treats based on…
  • I try that, but it never works for me, and I absolutely cannot sleep when that happens. Now I just plan for a "midnight snack". If I don't need it, awesome. But if I do, I don't have to worry about deciding between sleep and calories.
  • I try to svoid having sweets and snack stuff in the house to avoid the boredom munching, generally skip breakfast, have a very light lunch, and try to fit in some gym time so I can enjoy dinner out without worrying about calories. Also, many places offer spiralized veggie options, so you can substitute half your pasta for…
  • A lot. Usually 4 to 6 pounds, and it stays the ENTIRE time. Very annoying. I usually just ignore it though. After all, why bother worrying, it will go away in a week right? It's not like it's hurting anything, and since it just goes away on it's own, it's not fat, it's just my weird body being weird.
  • When I first started this MFP thing, I was estimating my morning smoothies, which were 100% fruit and vegetables plus water, and a spoonful of greek yogurt sometimes. Obviously that couldn't be too bad, right? I mean how many calories could a big cup of squishy, natural goodness be? When I got my scale, it turned out it…
  • Instead of "starting over" Start logging. Not just what you eat, but why, and how you feel before, right after and an hour after. After several days, this will give you a baseline of your uniwue lifestyle habits. Then go back and figure out one or two places where you can identify a particular bad eating habit and make a…
