Meeting people in real life that you met on the internet - that plan will get you murdered in your sleep! [/quote] OMG really! I thought my wife was acting strangely lately......thank you for the warning it is divorce time for us... Shame only been married 6 months.....

I have culled my friends list to those whom I feel are interested in my journey and I in theirs. I try and comment on everyone's postings but so many were 'like' collectors and thought this was Facebook. I do not need another's pat on the back but it is lovely to have one regardless. Friendship breeds motivation and…

Firstly well done on the weight loss, exceptional effort.! I read a lot of advice but found my own way. I try and meet or below my diary recommendation I never eat back calories on purpose. If I want a snack I will but its not a deliberate 'eat back'. I earned them calories through sheer hard work so I not going to eat…

Yea I hate that too...LOL

I agree it is always nicer to receive a request with a message saying why you want an add...fitness goals shared, time zone etc...Quality is better than quantity otherwise you just end up posting 'likes' to every comment as there are too many to fully interact..... Motivation is two way so be prepared to inspire others and…

I maintain a calorie deficit of 500 calories per day and exercise just for the pleasure it gives me after years of poor health.....I only have had 20-28 lbs to lose and 5 months to do it...so far I lost 9 lbs in six weeks.... Calorie deficit is the key via less food in + exercise = weight loss I believe 500/day = 3500/week…

I had a friend here who was beside herself for this reason....Calorie deficit CHECK, Protein CHECK, Fat CHECK, Carbs CHECK......Salt OVER...!! she was like she had been given 4 minutes to live.... As many have rightly said MFP is a tool, a guide not the Calorie Police who will take your first born. Reminds me of the…

I eat close MFP recommendation but never over then exercise in the evenings making it more under. I may have a snack in the evening staying under but not a conscious 'eat back all my exercise calories'....Lost 9 lbs in 6 weeks and feel great.

Love to hear a positive success story, yours will inspire and motivate others. 36 lbs is a huge achievement well done.....

I too had health issues but with diet and exercise I have turned my life around....I have an amazing MFP support group who are active and vocal. You need motivation and friends who give their time to post (as I do daily). Be prepared to do the same for others and the rewards are priceless......Without them I would not be…

3 lbs is a burn of over 10,000 calories in a week, that is huge..............! Most people would love that rate but I agree it is possibly too much. 90 lbs in a year looks to me to be a little optimistic....IMO

Morning! Northampton here, daily logger and motivator. Happy to be added as long as you prepared to make an effort like me. A 'like' takes a second, a 'comment' takes a minute, the effect can last all day.... I post encouragement but will also help motivate if you miss a target. Diary open to friends. If you looking for…

Good for you, determination and support are the key. Lots of excellent advice here will help you plus finding supportive people who are not just there to 'like' everything you post but actually take an interest in your progress and offer suggestions....

No no I would dare not attempt to emulate you. You live in a special world only you occupy and I wish you well in it....

Oh my you are probably the most awesome person in your whole street.....I wish I was as awesome as you but I am afraid I will just have to be satisfied with being successful. Good luck finding friends who think you are as awesome as you truly believe you are.!

Hi Tom, Lots of good advice here and I would agree with finding supportive friends they are a must. Takes time as some add you then never say another word but others are full of encouragement. My motto is 'A like takes a second, a comment takes a minute, the effect can last all day!' I am UK too...Add me if you have space…

UK here too......happy to motivate a fellow Brit!

I happy to add my support...My friends here have been a rock and I owe much to them for their likes, comments and words of encouragement. Always willing to help in any way I can.....
-
Thank you for all the positive comments. I just wanted to acknowledge the amazing support networks here and the unsung heroes who offer their time, effort and knowledge to others and ask for no reward other than to see you succeed......
-
Thank you for all the advice, I just love this app.....I will ignore as suggested and monitor calorie intake. Gates Of delirium by YES, well spotted!! I also think the protein is low as mine is 77 and I have been told it should be nearer 115!

Hello and good morning. I am no nutrition expert so could not honestly say but friends are so important. My MFP friends are just brilliant and keep me motivated. Even when one of us is down we boost them up again with encouragement......I wish you well
