I watch the show every week and it truly is a motivator for me. (Besides, it makes me cry, laugh, yell and watch the win for those who do. I would feel awful if one died and they easily could do so.) E.

I would LOVE to help kick start my metabolism but I just CAN'T even look at food until I have been awake for a couple of hours. I have heard that breakfast is the most important meal not sure why.

Just looked at her Diary.....I have NOTHING else to say.

I never saw if she logged everything and stayed within her calorie allot. ??? Just asking.

Calories count calories....period. They don't just disappear because they're counted.

I have an In n Out Cheeseburger and 8 fries a couple of times a month. Never had a problem with it as long as I keep it within my calories.

Weight Lost: 29lbs. in 6 months, size 12 to size 6, 154lbs to 132lbs Method: Portion control, eating less. 12-14 to lose and that's the killer. The 29 was pretty easy but now I seem to have "it" the "plateau" and have 11 Rx because of CHF and fibromyalgia. Also, my obsession with food and checking everything (food,…

1) Muscle weight's more than fat, 2) accuracy may be wrong both in food and exercise, 3) is there a decrease of size?, 4) hormones/thyroid - visit your Dr. and check both. I'm no way a doctor or scientist both if these things are out of whack. Good luck.

Even the Pope said ~ you don't need so damn kids (not the Pope's verbal LOL). No, I'm not catholic and yes, the Duggar's don't need any either (even tho I watch the darn show, it's a fascination for me). Just thinkin'.

Thank you. I do, many times, do exactly what you showed. So many times I don't find what I need though and then I'll give to the USDA database. :)

Any large muscle exercise will help tone your body.... period. I like walking, bicycle, swimming, and golf (no cart). The only area that you can ""spot reduce" is your mouth (by using less calories). j/k

Thanks Adam, I'll be here until I reach my goal and the second I find myself going back to those awful, unhealthy problems...... I'll be back (cuz' I'm only human).

I'm soon to be 58. Had a stroke (not to mention 2 heart attacks, 1 major). The stroke was awful and I still have brain working problem (word spelling and using) but, technology has well done a great job with working on these "elderly" people and I'd still rather be old and alive.

USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference Release 27 - free web.

LOL, me too.

Sry, forgive my words...stroke words suck. "Me included" was what I meant.
-
What ever....my part is I, ME, believe that the American country sits on its A** way too much. My included.

Back then: In 1900 more than 80 percent of all workers farmed in open fields, maintained railroad rights of way, constructed or repaired buildings, or produced steel and chemicals. Their bosses may have been comfortably warm in the winter and cool in the summer, but the workers were not. I think they had a much more…

I had just bought a "Cup" from Faberwear plastic set. OMG, it was SO much bigger than my old metal set. SO....I only use it as a receptacle on my scale.
-
Yeah, but they actually worked back there LOL j/k. Again tho, if we had their lifestyle (more exercise, less processed food) I think the guidelines would work better than what we have now.
-
I go by grams almost always. So, if it is not on the Database I create a new one based on the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference Release 27.

I use Edamame (actually Mukimame, Edamame without the shell) as a snack. 75g 120kcal 8g carbs 6g fats 10g PROTEIN 4g fiber That's 1/6 of my protein daily. I'm pretty happy with that.

Height 1900's men: 5'9", women: 5'3". 2000: men: 5'9.5", women: 5'3.8". Weight 1900's men: 160, women: 112. 2000: men: 176, women: 147. Seems to me, if the government followed the 1900's, we should follow the Dietary Guidelines from then.

1 oz. Caramel popcorn, no peanuts (per USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference Release 27) Calories - 122 The popcorn may not be heavy but caramel has density so I go with that.

so pretty and you look 20 years younger. Or and portion, calories, fast food (real bad) and that included any of the restaurants with processed meals (Chili's, Applebee's, etc.).

I love fats and use my real butter, avocado, coconut oil, blend oil, olive oil, sour cream, etc. I only use Reduced Milk because whole milk tastes like cream to me, so heavy. Fat Free Half and Half is also in my fridge because it cuts down calories but gives me the richest sauces and coffee.
