  • Hey! I suggest sweet potato (cut in chunks and roasted), oat meal, peanut butter. I'm also 5"7, I have a fast metabolism and have always been very slim. I weighed less than yourself, I'm currently 115lbs looking to put on another 10lbs. I'm aiming for 2,900 calories a day minimum to gain weight. I eat all plant based so I…
  • I use about 12 g of chia seeds in my smoothies. I sometimes mix them with oats too.
  • Carbs don't pack on pounds, eating too much of anything does. Anything you can get from Dairy you can get from plant based food (no bad cholesterol, no hormones, no pus particles, etc). I highly recommend the following documentaries to those interested in vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. - Forks Over Knives - Food Matters -…
  • I have a big bowl of Oat bran with berries and cinnamon. And a Bagel with pb or Avocado on wholeseed toast.
  • I squat and deadlift with my very limited supply of 10kg dumbells. I have really narrow legs, but they're starting to shape up by doing high reps of goblet squats, deadlifts, lunges, split squats. I find single leg exercises work well if you don't have heavy weights. I do hamstring curls with dumbell and seated Leg…
  • I am vegan, best change I ever made. It took me a few months to eat healthier and not have cravings for animal products but now I don't miss the taste at all. By eating well (wholefood, non processed foods) I got my blood sugar level under control, I feel better. I realised when I missed certain foods like pizza, it wasn't…
  • Also trying to build muscle, I'm trying to gain weight too as I'm a few pounds underweight. Have seen some muscle gains already though with my one 8kg dumbell haha. :D
  • Yep nut butters. Put them on whatever you can. Pb jelly sambo, peanut butter in oatbran/ Oats, peanut butter on dates... Avocado on wholemeal seed toast (seeded breads have more nutrients and calories) Beans on toast, kidney beans in Soup ( you can add lentils/ noodles to Soup too) Bagels instead bread rolls. Sweet potato…
  • I began my mission to gain weight 2 years ago and I also struggleD with appetite I also felt full very quickly because I wasn't used to eating large 3 meals a day. My tips are eat often so instead of 3 main meals a day, have 6 meals that are smaller in size. I found drinking hot milky drinks instead of tea helped me start…
  • Haven't heard of that, it's a grain? I love the texture of Quinoa, even though it looks strange, I cook mine in vegetable stock so gives it a bit of flavour. I am lacking in calcium though so might be worth a shot if I can find Farro! Lentils, the texture and taste of those... My tastebuds don't like haha. I'm quite picky,…
  • I get 57 g fat a day, didn't think that was low. I eat an Avocado and nuts, seeds everyday for fats. I thought I was having too much.. Greek yogurt is dairy so not vegan unfortunately. I eat a lot of beans a day but have yet to fall in love with hummus haha.
  • Sounds a little daunting! Is it difficult to make? I have no idea what to eat it with either. Never heard of TVP, I'll check out where sells it online. I'm in Ireland, I've only seen super processed mock meats in the health shops here, which I'm trying to avoid. Cake batter flavor! Hmm that sounds good. Do you mix yours…
  • Okay thanks so much for your help! I don't eat cheese so I'll defo look into getting a new protein powder.
  • For protein I eat Kidney / black beans, Quinoa instead of rice .. Oat bran, seeds and nuts, and Bagels have nearly 9 g protein. I am using pea protein in my smoothies although the taste isn't great. I guess Tofu / seitan would up my protein more it's very expensive where I am. What are BCAA's?? :o
  • Herrrow. I'm also vegan! Perhaps I can help out too :)
  • Um I love carbs so if I could eat more I would. My protein is fine right now, I may higher it when I put on more weight. My grams of protein is a little more than my weight. 130 g protein.
  • Hey, I'm vegan! Are you eating vegan for ethical reasons or health reasons?
  • Trying after many attempts to put on muscle mass. I have long Skinny shapeless limbs and always struggle with a bloated belly. The last 5 months I've seen progress. Consistency is the key. I work out 4 days a week, pilates and weights at home. Eating pretty healthy. Finally my tummy is getting toned, and I'm putting it…
