Well that's the cutest thing I've seen all day. Thanks!

There's no way to boost your metabolism, but if shakes aren't working, you may need a new plan. Add small volume, high caloric density foods to your day such as nuts, peanut butter, etc. if you are really concerned about calories - but maybe consider eating your calories.

So true. I don't really low carb, but I can tell when my macro balances are off because of this. It's the one reason I like the idea of low carb and why I really think it helps a lot of people.

You, I like.
-
It's fantastic. I prefer the pearled variety, but both are pretty stellar.
-
I was with you until "private message me." Can't share with the class? I'm curious why keto. Also, if that's you in the PP, what fat do you have to lose fast??
-
I could make the same argument for why you are wrong, because I, too, work in the medical field and more closely with patient diets than you do....but neither of us are smarter than science. OP said nothing about being diabetic and there is nothing wrong with high carb foods when it comes to weight loss if they don't cause…

Finally. I thought I was the only person in the world that didn't love the stuff. I prefer cous cous.
-
Unfortunately, being a nurse does not make you an expert in dietetics anymore than it makes anyone else in the medical field an expert that is not a registered dietician. With that said, you were countered because science contradicts your post. Low carb diets work IF they are creating a caloric deficit. The same caloric…

If you want to lose the last 20-30 lbs, your best bet is to track your calories. You can overeat anything including fruits and vegetables and cutting out food groups won't help if you don't know how much you're taking in.
-
A calorie deficit will help you lose weight, however you choose to create it.
-
Don't do it! Search for the "Orlistat" thread and pick a calorie deficit. It works, every time.
-
Was the wise man you? Because I suspect old nuts May just be jealous
-
Drunk I know you are On all of the woo koolaid Cuz thirty ain't old
-
Fear I'm going nuts Because I know I'm not old Must start keto now
-
Exactly. @ninerbuff - kids say ridiculous things all the time that their parents NEVER say. I told my parents when I was 6 and mad at my mom that I was glad I was adopted. I KNOW she never said that to me. Kids get mad at parents all the time and say, "I don't love you!" Is it because their parents said it to them?…

Blaming 5 year old for being five year old, blaming mom for not parenting right because five year old did five year old things, name calling, and semantics. Have I missed anything? OP, your son is testing the boundaries, as all children do. He probably heard someone else say it and watched them get a reaction, so he tried…

Nuts have so much fat Oh, we're over that fad now? I just can't keep up.
-
But what I do to entertain myself if I didn't have this to read? This is definitely my business, as a random stranger.

Healthy relationships always start with venting on the Internet about the others habits.

Interesting!

Set your goal on MFP, and eat the amount of calories it tells you, plus half to 75% of your exercise calories. ETA: it may seem counterintuitive to eat back your workout calories, but MFP is set up to add those calories in and you have to fuel those burns correctly. MFP notoriously overestimates, so that's why it is…
-
It will work the same as what you were eating before for weight loss given that you're eating at a calorie deficit.

Squirrels are so stupid I sic my pitbull on them She steals all their nuts
-
Guess I'm never eating again :/
-
Putting in exercise under strength does not track calories. If you want a calorie burn, select the "strength training" option under cardio. The burn is minimal, honestly.
-
In the study, yes. In this thread, no.
-
It only adds caloric burn for cardio exercises. You can (a) consider it negligible, which it may or may not be for you (b) use the cardio exercise "strength training" to track it. I use the latter and only eat back about half my calories because it's a pretty high overestimate. A heart rate monitor won't be a helpful tool…
-
Improper breath support and dehydration are common reasons.
-
If your calorie intake is less than what you burn in a day, you will lose weight. If these exercises help you get there, awesome!
