As always, well said.

I can run 10 miles without any replacement too. Most runners can. When I wrote that, I was considering runs far longer than that. Going just over an hour isn't "long" when you're talking about glycogen stores.

"Transitions Lifestyle Solutions" Just another sales scam.

I recently added white noise to my regiment and it's been helping me stay asleep, I think. I downloaded an app to try it before I actually purchased a machine, and I'm loving it. I went from exhausted and sleeping 8-9 snoozes past my alarm (not exaggerating) to getting up without fatigue when it goes off.

The answer to that question depends entirely on why one is drinking the Gatorade. After a long run when all my energy stored are depleted, the electrolytes and sugar it provides are VERY healthy.

Hahahahaha. I work in healthcare and my "required" 30 minute lunch is hardly honored much less a break to go eat snacks every 3 hours. With that said, it has never affected my maintenance plan so I'm not complaining. I just find it impossible that this would ever be honored. STILL want to know what that acronym means, even…

So, if calorie counting doesn't work then (1) what was responsible for my weight loss, if all other variables stayed the same and I started calorie counting and (2) why are you on a calorie counting website?
-
I'm just going to add to the chorus and say weight loss isn't linear. What you're experiencing is NORMAL. I fluctuate 3 lbs throughout every week and I've been in maintenance for a couple years. You have to calm down. Like seriously, calm down. You won't get anywhere stressing out like that.

The part in bold makes me so happy. This was the best realization MFP ever led me to and I'm so glad you're in such a healthy place.

But what if pizza and chili cheese fries fit my calorie goals and help me hit my macros? (Hint: they do)

If no society of endocrinology agrees this is real, and medical specialties claiming it aren't recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties and Association of American Medical Colleges, then I'm skeptical. ^^ You actually run the risk that this "functional medic" believes in corticosteroid treatment and you end…

QFT. You're doing yourself harm by not listening to the program. It works for a reason.

Yeah, a joke I made in response to you initial comment in another thread. This one:
-
No, it was definitely you.

I can be very snarky, but this is an entirely serious question. Do you still view fast food as the equivalent of drinking Drano, then?
-
I'm sorry to tell you, you're actually dead. Your headstone was signed by Mercola after the toxins got you.

I speak as someone who has a decent number of long runs under my belt, and has also had a stress fracture. If the pain is unilaterally worse and not going away, you might need a break...a couple weeks of not running and resting. Now, I say MIGHT because you may just have run of the mill shin splints. Shiny splints should…

OP, you're in dangerous territory with your mental view of yourself. As a competitive swimmer and pre-med, my biggest fear is that you are going to quickly burn out if you don't choose to get help, and SOON. I know it's costly and terrifying to admit to people you love that you are struggling but trust me - you can't…

I can be there in 2 hours.

You knows what's toxic? Drano.

I crave milk when I'm dehydrated. Do you drink water during the day? I find when I'm not dehydrated I don't crave it as much.

The people claiming that are referring to "Starvation Mode" and stating that your body holds onto fat reserves when you starve it of calories. It's been proven untrue, and you're right with the examples you've given.
-
The above recommendations were pretty good...if you're struggling to enjoy it and freezing isn't worth it, just throw it out.
-
1. Entirely depends on you. You have to learn over time to add fuel when your body needs it. With that said, I've heard a lot of people say that after an hour, it's good to add fuel to your body. I typically last about 90 mins without it, and fuel anything longer. Your body will start to tell you and you will learn with…

It depends entirely on the individual. Optimal varies from person to person based on their own desires. Some people HATE running the amount I did and wouldn't call it optimal at all despite the progress I perceived. For some people, it works just fine. As long as CI and CO balance, it doesn't matter how you get there.

I laugh at this, but it was my go-to when I was too stressed to have an appetite and was not meeting my needs. It saved me from malnutrition I'm pretty sure.
-
When my appetite is low, I try to include foods that have a high calorie content for less substance, such as peanut butter, almonds, trail mix, avocado, etc.
-
There are likely few people who have ever started a calorie deficit and not felt some degree of discomfort on days the deficit wasn't maintained or they ate a food that has been deemed "bad." I've definitely been there. It makes a huge difference to focus on the "big picture." Keep in mind that you've lost 20 pounds…

This thread is driving me nuts, because to be honest, I'm pretty sure it was started to incite the arguement that's currently happening, but I digress. I think the point is this : Person A is an overweight individual who starts doing cardio exercise X number of times per week. They start losing weight because by…
