:/ Just found this thread. Haven't logged in or kept any track of what I have (have not) been doing pretty much for most of this year. Argh! Gained 10 pounds in a year. I was doing so well before I retired and hoped to have lost 60 lb since then. This is the first step (yet again) but a step just the same.…

Love reading everyone's experiences. I've lost 18 lb with approximately 50 lb to go. I am 59 and my favorite thing so far is the feeling of loose clothes. Such a good feeling. Looking forward to getting back into those favorite clothes I haven't worn in a very long time. Also, hopeful my rings not worn for years will be…

good for you. It does work to keep a journal on here of what you are eating, good or bad. Eventually you get it and it works. Keeping track of measurements, if you can't weigh in also is useful. Of course, how our clothes fit don't lie either. Good Work!

Amazing transformation. I too have just turned 59 and late last year diagnosed with diabetes. I have had hypertension since age 38 (even when I was much, much thinner - genetically predisposed); with the diagnosis I decided I wasn't taking this lying down. I was already a member of MyFitnessPal but did not really stick…

Keeping it simple for now. Goal for April is to weigh/measure and journal. At least I can manage that and get that established firmly. Hi to everyone here and keep up the good work and support. :)

Hello from the Canadian prairies. I had to find this group again, having had good intentions but fallen off my wagon for the umpteenth time. My last posts were back in summer last year!!! After putting feet to scale this morning I made a decision that I MUST weigh, measure, move, and journal EVERYTHING! It is the ONLY way…

Hi again, It's almost 1 PM. DH has finally risen (he's a night owl) and soon will have lunch and wants to get to the beach/water on such a sweltering day. I had a decent breakfast and now it's lunch time so will need to eat a good lunch if we're hitting the beach. I love vacation time, no pressure. I wish everyone a…

Hello everyone, Can't say I'm being too successful with the food diary, and certainly haven't gotten back to the gym. My bad. On vacation starting today and hoping to get a few things done around here that I can never get to while working full time. It's been very hot here on the prairies of Manitoba (just north of N…

Hello All, Fell off the MFP wagon in June. Did not journal and haven't been back to the gym early morning before work - my bad. What I have noticed is that when I don't get that exercise in then I am soooo tired all the time. Feeling very blimp-like. Been very busy at work covering for people on vacation and so not feeling…

Happy Tuesday, back to work today. Tuesdays are challenging days - it's our Costco shop day after work and usually grab a bite there before shopping. DSO and I share a roasted turkey provolone and chicken strips/fries. I counted as best I could which took me over for the day. I was good before the Costco trip but I have to…

Happy Monday! It is a stat holiday here in Canada so I am truly enjoying the me time. Slept late. Yesterday worked my weight routine for lower body - 3 sets of a bunch of things, including managing to hold a 30 sec plank- 3 times! I was shaking by the end but held on - e.g. happy. Saturday I worked the upper body doing 3…

I forgot to thank Barbie for keeping this board active. I'm starting in the middle of a month, so I have a lot of posts to read. Bear with me.

Hi from Manitoba, Canada. I'm a 57 yo female who used to be really, really fit bout 20+ years ago. I have started rising early and heading to the gym before work recently. Now I am going for the big prize: the 98 day Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle contest. If nothing else it will keep me motivated to get moving and eat…

Thank u Barbie for hosting this board. I am new to this program and to these "boards". I have just met my 57th bday and struggled with weight since puberty. My best success with weight was betw ages 29 to 35 (following an unsuccessful relationship) when I was often referred to as "hot" but when my life settled and my…
