I lost roughly 109 pounds between June of 2014 {326 pounds} and June of 2015 {217 pounds}. I've been maintaining since then. Maintaining is much much much much harder than losing.

Commuter bikes also typically have a larger range of gears on the back end, the cassette, to assist with the heavier loads of carrying packages. But I know that's picking fly crap out of pepper. Cincinnati, Ohio, my hometown is one of the faster growing Cities for bike commuting. Source 1, Source 2. And every LBS is…

So...do sock selfies count?

This was taken at the Loveland Miami Bike Trail in Loveland, Ohio. Yesterday morning. Empty trail for miles and miles. Which was surprising on a Holiday here in the US.....

Endomondo, Strava, Garmin Connect, Fitbit, Polar, Moove, S-Health, iHealth, and even MyFitnessPal .... all of those use different Caloric burn logarithms to factor what you're burning. None of them are accurate. The trick is pick one use it for a few weeks and see what happens with your scale/fitness and adjust accordingly.

It's a good idea to eat back a portion of your burned calories. Based on that fact alone... I'd log it.... So you know how much to eat back

Wrist-based step counters are nothing more that accelerometers that pick up motion. They will be inaccurate. Fitbit, Garmin, Jawbone, Misfit, Android Wear, iWatch. None of them are going to be 100% gospel truth. Most of the trackers have a system for syncing your data online through a computer or tablet. None of them…

What hand are you wearing it on? What hand are you dominate with? Wrist based trackers are nothing more that accelerometers that pick up motion. Try placing your Fitbit on your non-dominate hand since you don't use it as much as you do your dominate one.

Coming from someone who personally hasn't had a soda i 794 days. If you goal is weight loss, slimming down, becoming fitter. There is nothing wrong with 0 Cal carbonated drinks. They don't add to your caloric intake so you need to ask yourself. Why, do you want to cut Diet Soda out? You need to answer that first.

Diet and Exercise.

As a husband. I would never express that ideal to my wife. At all. Period. End of discussion. I'm sorry that you're in this boat......

Go to a LBS {Local Bike Shop} and talk to them. They do make Endurance Frames which are typically more relaxed and easier on the neck and lower back that all out race machines. As far as budgeting into the cost. Get a saddle pack, one big enough to fit a multi tool, tube, patch kit in. Then decide if you want a CO2…

I float between 58-62 while I'm awake and down in the low 50s when I'm sleeping.

We've got a 7k and 14k coming up in about 2 weeks. I think it's a "beer state" thing .... lol I would also recommend getting some kind of body glide to rub on your inner thighs.

Look up "Playground Exercises" There is a ton you can do at the Playground just using body weight.

Simple answer is : different companies use different methods for determine caloric burn. You can use five different apps and get five different numbers from the same gpx files.

Aloe Vera works just as well, and is much cheaper.

1.4 pounds could be water weight. If you eat, or did eat, a meal with a lot of sodium it's going to retain water. And while it doesn't add to muscle mass, or body fat it will make the scale go up.

Cardio is a little easier to get you in the ball park. Once again it's all a guesstimate to begin with. Just "Lifting" is much harder to nail down the caloric burn due to the nature of the exercise. As @NorthCascades mentioned. A HRM is just that Heart Rate Monitor. It doesn't know if you're running, cycling or jacked up…

The two i frequent is basically, No Boots No Jeans No spaghetti strap tanks

In my opinion...... Not at all. You didn't throw good money after bad. Activity Trackers do have their place. I Had a Garmin VivoFit, then went to Mistfit [Complete mistake], then got a VivoSmart HR, and moved to a VivoActive HR. Fact ..... Weight Loss comes from spending more calories than you eat. Running, Swimming,…

That's my opinion. for what it's worth. As an Ohioian. I hate anything with Crimson and Grey ..... But that's a different discussion for a different time.

What about the Garmin Tri Strap?

Elevated Heart rate does happen when lifting. Yes. Your heart is pumping oxygen {blood} to muscle that you are using. But If I'm laying on a incline doing benches presses and my heart is jumping for ~88bpm to roughly ~111bpm how much did I use my legs? Or better yet if I'm squat'n 180 pounds and my HR is jumping from…

Most gyms are you only get out what you put in. But before most we can give advice what are you looking to accomplish? Muscle Toning? Cardio Endurance? Overall Fitness? Cycling, Dreadmill, and stair steppers are good cardio but do little for muscle. Resistance/lifting will help burn a few extra calories.

Is "squishy" ever bad?

I've used Vega Green Protein, didn't like it at all. I've use EAS. I do like it, has a good flavor and a smooth texture. However I stumbled across MyProtein [dot] com. Ordered the Impact Rocky Road and it's the most flavorful and smoothest Whey I've personally used*. *These are my opinions and I am entitled to them. Plus…

My next bike will be a Cannondale CAAD12. I want something I can play with, but won't break the bank.
