I keep an eye on both and over periods of time remain consistent. I read a study that said you roughly up/down your daily intake it's supposed to be better for your metabolilsm. Could be a load of bollocks but I find that tends to happen anyway  As long as you see a positive result all good!!

I'm sure somebody said this but eggs are great and fill you up. I always keep some boiled in the fridge for days I am in a rush

When I'm on holidays I don't log my food so I can't see that I'm eating 3 times as many calories as I should and when I come home I wonder why I gained 5 kgs.... :-(

I couldn't read through the multitude of responses but I'm assuming someone has pointed out that constantly restricting calories to a ridiculous level will put your metabolish into starvation mode and cause you to hold on to your fat. My two cents :)

I have those days often. If I know I'm way over my goal I don't tick the "complete" button and I don't get food shamed. I know already how much I've eaten. I still like to track it though cause it does help when you look back and wonder why some weeks you weren't losing you know it was a difficult period

for me it's more about changing my lifestyle for the better and of course in doing so I will lose weight. Long term your body sits into it's own ideal weight if you keep exercising and eating well. There is always a point your body feels most comfortable and often you can't push past it in a healthy way
