The first couple of trips to the gym can be intimidating (like anything else new). Just keep going. Before you know it the first day turns into a week, then a month, etc. You'll be surprised how quickly you feel comfortable there, like one of the regulars.

I enter my lifting as strength training under cardio. Not sure how accurate it actually is, but better than nothing.

I would say locker room etiquette. The folks that undress to shower and have their wet clothes and the remainder of their belongs spread out all over the floor and benches. My usual gym has decent sized locker rooms, but no one wants to have to navigate through that stuff
