"I've started weighing when something is calorie dense and easy to weigh (i.e. nuts or nut butters)" Excellent point. I think the scales tip in favor of the scales. (Nyuk Nyuk)

"I approach weighing and logging like data-collection, that's largely because I'm an engineer and that's just how science works. " I can see the attraction of that. Definitely.

"I say this only partly as a joke but if you don't mind finding a couple of recurring standard foods to build into your daily eating, then it becomes much easier." This makes eminent sense. I can see how that it true.

"When I was losing I weighed or measured most things, but that was mostly because I wanted to eat as much as possible and still lose weight without shorting myself." This is an excellent argument. I love it.

@janejellyroll Yeah, you're totally right. I hope I don't seem critical of weighing food. I just wondered at the comparison.

I understand frustration with not seeing a change. And I've heard making a change, i.e. "Shock your body" can help. But I think in general, if you're "stalling" it's due to eating at maintenance. In order to lose pounds eating fewer calories than you burn is what's needed. I don't have much experience, but I've read in…

How much coffee do you drink? My husband has had to see a cardiologist on two different occasions, for chest pressure only to be told not to drink so much coffee.

Hi! I used to juice and find both broccoli and bell pepper flavors to dominate all others. Ginger, too- wow, a little goes a long way, if you're using pure root. Having said that, I don't juice at all any more and I'm not a smoothie person. I agree with above poster, I don't think the theory of rainbow of nutrients means…

I agree with MightyMinerva about specific to one's needs. If you're young and healthy you may not need anything. For a postpartum woman who's breastfeeding, I need a daily multi, plus Flax or Fish oil, and occasionally I take a B12

Thanks, @sgt1371

@jvcinv Thank you for answering my question by quoting yourself. That is acutely interesting to me. It makes me think of starvation, those who go without food for extended periods involuntarily. Not fun, eh? But what an insight on that feeling. And your reflection on the psychology of fasting is quite poignant. Furthermore…

Turkey!

I've read that fermented tofu is even better for you. What do you tofu experts think of that? (I know nothing about tofu, but am considering adding it to my diet.)

I've definitely been there. At my worst I'd take the kids to school and come home and sit in dark, watch TV and eat eat eat. This sort of behavior is so unhealthy. I needed outdoors, fresh air, movement, company and conversation. Now that was me, but can you make a realistic plan for your health? Not for tomorrow nor for…

I leave food in the car, so when I get in I can start eating, rather than drive to get fast food.

@ashliedelgado Me too!

@dani_1977 Did you have to replace your Fitbit?

Old discussion, I know- but I wanted to chime in with how much I've enjoyed pound class. Just came home from my second one. I'm still far from getting the hang of it, but it's fun!

That's ok! Days not over... just have a cup of tea and start again!

Sounds wonderful! It's my fantasy to sleep after a workout! Maybe someday when I'm an empty nester I'll get that luxoury!

I too had 2 finger separation after this latest pregnancy. Its been 9 month and I think it's nearly healed. Still a finger separation directly above my belly button. I've focused on obliques 2-3 times a week, but I think the most healing has come from walking and running. I never wore a girdle. I know some people have a…

Put raw 4 chicken breasts in slow cooker with a jar of your favorite salsa. After chicken is cooked, shred chicken, and place generous portion on top of bed of lettuce. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, other veggies.

Cool idea, OP.

I'm sure you can all relate to comfort eating alone. So one solution would be to eat with someone. Solves two problems: overeating and loneliness. I find sharing how I feel helps. Don't let your [insert negative feeling] fester. Talk about it, if you can, address it. Food isn't the root, find the root.

Oh I forgot the best one! Cottage cheese pancakes! Make in blender, 1c cottage cheese, 4 eggs, 1 c flour, salt, milk. Pour in dollops on hot skillet. Texture closer to crepe, but so yummy!

My husband and I just did protein pancakes for brunch! Standard Betty Crocker recipe, but with 4 T PB dry peanut powder stirred in. Man was that good!!! So light and fluffy. Highly recommend! I topped mine with butter and cool whip
-
I agree. Been there, your day is ok! Just eat veggies and protein for dinner and go for a brisk walk.
-
We've all been there! You're in good company!

Walking is my fave.

Are there different piyo routines? The routine I've done at my Y wouldn't be bad for knees. Maybe you can just skip the parts that have any jumping. Can you do squats with your knee problem? I agree with above, use your judgement. Good luck!!!
