Last night, we had a "pasta" dish: Sausage, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, onion, mushroom, sauce. In the past, I'd have added some rotini pasta or something. Instead, I just used more peppers. We didn't miss the pasta a bit!

Personally, I log everything that goes into the recipe and count the proportional amount of the extra liquid as part of the serving. It will end up overstating the amount of calories logged, but for me, I'd rather log a higher value than one that may be understated.

I also believe consistency is one of the biggest tools for success!

It's not intentional sabotage, but co-workers often walk around with a box of Krispy Kreme's or something else I rarely eat. "Oh come on, just one won't hurt you" or "We're down to the last one--you should just take it." Often, these responses are after I've already said "no thanks." The last time, I gave in to their…

Calories are apparently the devil, but people have no issue saying, "OMG, do you know how much fat (or carbs or sugar or sodium or whatever else they think is the key to success) is in what you're eating!?!?"

Crab and lobster ravioli from Lidl with a bacon & mushroom cream sauce. Had to pre-log this bad boy to see if I needed to make any adjustments to the rest of the day!

We've taken our pup to the end of season pool days each of the last 2 years. It's so, so awesome.

So a friend is visiting Southern California and posted some photos on Facebook with this caption, "After all it was a great big world....with lots of places to run to...." So, of course, I've got some Tom Petty in my head--not necessarily a bad thing!

I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but I found 115,000,000 recipes via Google and "low carb recipes".

"Save As" would be wonderful!

Yep, people suck. My biggest annoyance is people who accept nearly every invitation ever offered but never reciprocate, ever. I'm annoying because after a while, I'll call people out on this.

You ate beef jerky? Where's the insta-ban button?!? Someone call PETA? Are there clean eating police? Call them, too! BTW, I really enjoy the Ostrim brand Beef-Elk Habenero stick.

I may eat a big doughnut just to test this theory.

Log what you feel is necessary to log for your goals. But the first thing anyone will ask if you're not achieving your goals is how accurately you log calorie intake and estimate calorie burns.

Dumb forum syncing. Re-posted on correct thread.

Not all people respond the same way to all foods. The advice by @earlnabby is excellent--probably some of the best I've seen. Learning how to log food accurately is going to go a long, long way toward success in becoming healthier. As a diabetic, you'll want to test your blood sugar regularly. When your eating is…

As you progress toward your goals, no matter how hard those pics might have been to take and post, you'll be extremely thankful you have them for comparison.

You're diabetic now. Never eat carbs again.

"My cholesterol is high, so I can't eat cheese or eggs," while a friend demolished about 2# of shrimp.

A little better ever day and don't beat yourself up when you slip up. Developing consistency is key!

Such an appropriate topic. Having lost a lot of weight and gaining most back a few times definitely makes this a challenge for me as well. I really believe most people think losing is the hardest part. For me, since I haven't mastered the keeping it off, that's where I know I struggle.

Wisconsin born, so I'll never give up cheese. I fully support some of the statements above about using a stronger or sharper cheese in smaller quantities. 0.5oz (14g) of some good cheeses go a long way.

Lost 75 pounds a couple of times and back at it, again. My diary is open, and I log regularly. Please feel free to add me if you'd like. We have a trip to Europe planned in 6 months, and I've set a goal to be down another 50 pounds or so and log 500 miles walking.

Hey neighbor. We live in Taylors and have a Greer mailing address.

Tortilla, 150-200 depending on size. Grilled chicken, 150. Veggies, 25. Sauce 25-150. I'd say find a comparable wrap in the database in the 450-500 calorie range, and it should be close. I agree with @SusieBanyon 's approach, as I don't think this would have been more based on the description.

I'm conscious of my macros but aim to be at a calorie deficit regardless of the macro ratio.

You're doing an amazing job. Keep it up!
