  • This is my favorite http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipe/spicy-vegetarian-chili
  • If you are an ice cream person, frozen bananas are a good choice. I have no idea how many calories it has but I would imagine the Dole Pineapple Whips aren't too bad, either. Should be comparable to a sherbet. But it's your birthday and a treat, and there will be a lot of physical activity, so if you want the full fat…
  • I live in Anaheim and go pretty often. As others have said - If you are spending all day at the park, you are going to walk a lot so I wouldn't worry too much. If you want some good choices, personally I like Bengal Barbeque across from the Jungle Cruise. They have grilled meat and veggie skewers. Also although technically…
  • I also did the avon walk - Marathon one day, half marathon the next. It was surprisingly not terrible. The fundraising is kind of a pain though. I plan on doing it again this September and still need to raise $800.
  • Personally I think it's a crime to come to California and not eat In n Out (Burgers). Also I had a friend from England (English living in NZ) visit and the thing he went crazy for was See's Candy. They usually have a storefront in most malls.
  • I guess if there's one thing to like about being over 40, it's lack of Facebook pics when I was at my heaviest. I do have one picture that I have kept of me and two friends, and I am standing behind them hiding myself as best as possible to avoid showing up in the picture. You see two girls smiling and me just from the…
  • Thank you!!! I want to cry at the thought of being able to lift a huge tire like that. Awesome!
  • Depends, how much sugar have you had today?
  • Gina from Skinnytaste loves chicken thighs so there are tons of good recipes on her site. I love this one (says drumsticks but I make it with thighs because I don't like bones). http://www.skinnytaste.com/2010/07/asian-glazed-drumsticks.html
  • If you don't like eggs, don't eat them. There's no reason you should eat anything you really hate. Also there's no reason you have to eat breakfast. There are lots of people on this site who have had great losses and never do. Your overall calories for the day just have to be less than what you burn, it doesn't matter when…
  • Weight watchers compensates for allowing fruit and vegetables to be "free" by reducing your overall calorie intake. Personally I didn't like the wonky stuff like this that makes everything harder than it has to be. MFP is not giving you any such reduction, so you should track your fruit, and vegetables. Unless you have a…
  • It might be helpful to see a therapist who can help you learn how to establish appropriate boundaries with your mom. It sometimes helps to write down the things you don't want her to get involved with and decide what is really important to you, and then communicate to her that things she says are having a negative effect…
  • Just put your stats in and take the calorie goal that MFP gives you, and log everything you eat. Weigh and measure your food as much as you can. Get a digital food scale. Be patient. Get some friends here for support and advice. I'll send you a friend request. :)
  • Hehe. That's my cat's name. Well, Nibbler. Miss Nibbles if you're nasty.
  • Thanks for posting. I saw an endocrinologist last week and I am going back next week to go over results of my blood work. I'm really hoping I get the missing link like you did. It's so discouraging to work so hard for so little results and stick with it. I had already been diagnosed with PCOS but no doctor ever did…
  • Thanks for posting, this is very inspirational!
  • I got a tip from the forums that made my life a lot easier a few weeks ago. Use the recipe builder to put all the ingredients you are using in the recipe you are making, but count the entire recipe as one serving so you know how many calories are in the total batch you cooked. They, use the food scale to weigh the entire…
  • I count what I use, but if I use a Misto or cooking spray I don't count it, and get the same results. Especially for something like broiling.…
  • I know some people who did it for a limited period of time and it made their relationship better. You definitely have to be able to trust your partner, though.
  • I have one at home and I love it. I didn't want to have to pick between cardio and TV. Now I get both. I still enjoy other activities but it's a great way to get some cardio in without having to leave the house. Even if I get home late and exhausted I can still manage half an hour pretty easily.
  • The best ones are from someone's abuelita though.... Puts restaurant tamales to shame every time!
  • I think people should be more concerned that the adults teaching your children can't seem to put together a note that makes any kind of logical sense. That would worry me more than an oreo.
  • The initial reason was that I have some medical issues not related to weight that require me to go to a doctor every 6 months and I just got tired of hearing it every time. But now I'm in it for overall health, looking and feeling better, and just the sense of accomplishment.
  • Looking great! Thanks for reminding me that it's not a race!
  • There's lots of calorie dense foods with no meat in them. My boyfriend is a vegetarian but eats way too much mac n cheese. Baked goods, pie, cake, cookies.... Nothing wrong with that stuff in moderation, but if you eat too many calories it won't matter that none of the calories came from meat. As everyone has said, it's…
  • That's perfect. I'm pretty good with comebacks but I didn't want to cause a scene at work!
  • We had a health screening at work today and the nurse actually told me that I should try a "detox" to "jump start" my weight loss. Since I was at work and my boss was standing right outside the door I restrained myself from calling her an idiot, but it made me mad. I've been losing weight in a safe, sustainable way for the…
  • Thanks for giving me the courage to face one more day/week/month/year. You look great.
  • OMG I can't believe I never thought of this, but it's going to make my life so much easier! Thanks!
