  • I met with my dietician yesterday after more than a year and regain that left me feeling like I had hit the point of no return. My goal is to stick to the meal plan we discussed and get outside more during the day...working from home has been wonderful with the exception of the fact that I actually work more…
  • I too am battling a regain. My high was 260 at VSG in 12/15. Down to 150 in 1/17 and regained 25 lbs over the past year and a half. I have tracked daily since my surgery and exercise regularly. My problem is the kinds of food I'm eating (sweets, carbs, salty snacks) past my full point and generally at night. Stress at…
  • That's awesome Nicole. In addition to doing well on your own journey, you are a fantastic source of information for others.

  • I had my sleeve surgery on 12/7/15. I added vegetables 3.5 months following surgery. I eat mostly celery, baby carrots and broccoli, but no more than three small pieces at a time because I can't get all of my protein in if I have too much. I also will wrap a small lettuce leaf around my chicken for lunch or dinner. I do…
  • I weigh myself nearly every day. I get discouraged by 0 and .2 losses, even though I fully understand the ebb and flow of weight loss. Human nature. The difference for me this time is that I no longer binge eat salty snacks and sweets when I'm discouraged...all thanks to my gastric sleeve surgery.
  • Thanks Nicole. I had never heard about the surgery itself being a factor. Like my body in surgery, I am in shock by the amount coming out this past month! I will try to ride it out without too much panic. My protein levels are where they should be, so I hope to turn the corner soon.

  • I was surprised to see a pre-op diet for others on here. The only thing I was told before my sleeve on Dec. 7 was to lay off fatty foods a few days before and eat easily digestible foods the day before. I had six months of nutritional counseling before I could apply for my surgery date and a pre-op diet was never…
  • Hey Nicole! That's great on your gym time and your progress. It's definitely not easy getting back into the groove. It's amazing when you start feeling stronger and are able to do more things. I decided to quit the gym because I have to work out at 5 a.m. and didn't like driving there or putting on appropriate public…
  • The other day I felt completely stuck so I really appreciate everyone's input on the protein. I have some experimenting to do! :) I'm sure this will be second nature at some point.
  • Thank you for the tips. I have never heard of Ostrim. Will give that a try. I've never really been a meat eater (never liked the texture or taste) and chewing it to the applesauce consistency has been quite a challenge. That was my biggest concern when considering having the surgery. I'm going to power through it though…
  • Thanks. Premier Protein is what I drink, also chocolate and vanilla. I tried the strawberries and cream but that one made me more nauseous than the others and has a gritty consistency to it. I will try them super cold to see if it helps. I thought it would pass but I'm still having a hard time accepting that I'll need this…
