Put it out there at the start that you are into health and fitness and taking care of yourself. It will be a huge plus for most people to have found someone who is fit! Also that way they won't expect you to go out and eat burgers, and you're more likely to find someone who is also into the same lifestyle.

Make sure you leave yourself enough calories to have a snack in the evening. I usually have a decaf coffee and a quest bar. As the above poster says, nothing wrong with eating at night as long as you have the calories left for it.

How many calories a day are you eating now? Are you tracking everything?
-
Your BMR is your basal matabolic rate - so the amount of cals your body would burn even if you didn't move all day. The number MFP works from is your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) which considers daily activity and is higher than your BMR.

It's pretty awesome here isn't it :)
-
You should log your weight once a week on the same day for consistency.

I love soda water with lemon. The fizz hits the spot for me just as well as a soda.
-
What's your diet like. Are you struggling because it's hard to stick to? How many cals are you on a day?
-
5x5 Stronglifts has a free app which tells you when to workout and which workout to do. It's awesome.

Hey, I'll be your friend and cheerleader! Food prep is really important to avoid snacking on fatty foods and turing to junk meals. So you seem to have that one covered! I'd also suggest planning your food out for the day in advance, so you know you are staying within your calorie allowance. If you have a lot of weight to…

I found it! None close enough for me. What a great idea!

Remember that slow and steady wins the race, so make sure your diet is maintainable long term. So many people go into diet mode and don't eat enough and then can't stick to it. Best thing about flexible dieting is that all foods are allowed (in moderation).

I've added you. I track every day :)
-
Wait a minute. A WINE RUN? :p
-
Welcome back and good luck! Your husband has done so well to lose so much weight! I'll send you a friend request, as I'm always happy to be your cheerleader ;)

I'm not new to weight training, but I am new to lifting heavy. I've just started 5x5 Stronglifts, and I love it! Got a long way to go though.

Oh yes you can! Once you have the printable report open, you can chose the dates you want. So you can print a month of your food diaries.
-
At the bottom of your food diary for each day there's a printable report. SO you could print that out for each day. Not sure you can get a report of the entire month.

I was the same! I lost a lot of weight, but was "skinny fat" - as the above poster suggests the best route is to lift weights. I also incorporate HiiT training and running. I've totally changed my body composition.
-
Most people measure/track their macronutrients in grams, which is why MFP is set up this way.
-
You are doing a great job already! But I wish you every success in the your journey.

I'm cat.hunter on instagram - I post fitness posts

Are you following the 21 day fix diet plan, or doing MFP? Have you taken your measurements, or taken photos of your progress. Your results might not show on the scales, but will show on your body.
-
Hang on...did you just reduce it to 1,200 cals? This is too low for your start weight. You will find as you lose weight you will need to eat less and less to maintain your losses. Did you try the IIFYM calculator at www.iifym.com?
-
Check your calorie allowance too. How much do you have it set in MFP to lose a week?

It is possible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time! But it's a long process. Have a look at this article for starters http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/fat_loss_muscle_gain_trick.htm I've managed to gain muscle and lose fat. It's very possible for someone who didn't have much muscle mass in the first place, but yes…

Sorry I was being flippant. No doubt there's a lot of great info on here. But I can imagine it's a little overwhelming to read through all the replies and summarise the best course.
-
If you are still hungry, try eating back 50% of your exercise cals. You'll soon know if you can still lose weight while you eat them. Good luck!

If the OP wasn't confused when she started this post, she sure is now!
