So yesterday my husband & I walked the same 10 miles course with our vivoactives, but mine only registered 8.5 miles. This morning after 2 miles of walking we already had a significant discrepancy. Thinking my vivoactive is defective. It used to track quite accurately.

That's good to know! The vivoactive is tricky for me- doesn't register *any* activity when I'm gardening or cooking which involve a lot of that up & down arm motion causing impact. Must need the bump and forward motion too?

This is the best lobster I've ever tasted: Boil large pot water. Drop in lobsters, cook just till eyes turn white & body light orange/red. Flesh should be opaque but still flabby. Split bodies & remove tomalley which should still be soft jelly like and deep green. Blend tomalley into a thick liquid. Reserve some for…

I saw "cauliflower donut" and thought it would be a version of medhu vada. Yumtastic! Still, respect for anyone willing to MacGyver protein powder and cauliflower into a breakfast pastry substitute. Playing with food is fun.

I experience the same with my vivoactive at work if I'm pushing a wheelchair or cart down a hall, or carrying items like a tray, or taking smaller steps in a confined area like a patient room, or if performing tasks with my hands such as writing while moving. My level of activity is equivalent to continuous walking, but…

I used to never wear deodorant and didn't smell any worse for it. Every time I went to the bathroom I'd wash my pits with the antibacterial hand soap. Stayed clean & fresh all day. That was back when deodorant was sticky roll-on, lung burning aerosol spray, or clumpy sticks that left white residue on clothes. There's…

Get used to being around food you're not going to eat. Might as well happen at home- it happens everywhere else.

Easier to cook by method not by recipe. Learn the techniques & flavor profiles of various cultures and you will not need a recipe. For something rice based today, how about stir fry? Here's a link to Asian based cuisine: http://www.asian-recipe.com/methods/cooking-styles.html For future reference, this site teaches how to…

Meh. At 5'8" and 36%bf and 150lb I wasn't happy, but not exactly seafaring.

My clothes don't fit and I can't go to work naked.

Seriously. This. Not weird but gosh darn it's good! Also pretty much anything blended with ice cubes in the ninja is great. Examples: beets, chard, carrots, celery, cucumber, herbs, goat cheese.

My diary is open. Just got back into logging consistently a few weeks ago at 1200. Some days darn good, others not so much.

I keep staples in pantry can build a meal around with whatever is in fridge/freezer. Highly recommend a pressure cooker to quickly steam, stew, braise, etc... Makes enough leftovers for a few days. I don't eat meat, but it's really good for that too. Dried lentils don't have to soak. Throw in spices and veg. Add salt &…

I'm just getting back into this after letting myself go for far too long. This is what I've learned from the posts here on mfp: Log it before you eat it. Use a food scale whenever you can. Learn what a healthy portion looks like. Eat more of the foods that fill you up & keep you satisfied without going over goals- for many…

For which of my bad parts didst thou first fall in love with me?

Days loaded with low starch veg, whole grains, legumes, protein shakes, & fat free dairy- I'm full by 800 cal for the day. Then I do some snacking until reach 1000-1200cal, if I can. Days loaded with pizza, ice cream, candy & cookies I could easily top 3000 cal and still be hungry.

Vegan under pressure All pressure cookers come with a manual that explains how to cook meats. Vegan under pressure explains how to cook everything else. Fantastic guidelines and ideas- author has researched methods & timing for best results. Love how quick, easy, and energy efficient it is to make dinner in a pressure…

That's a lot to go through! The therapist should be able to give you guidelines for exercises. Hope it gets better for you soon.

First, have you been to a doctor? Diagnosed? Cleared for any sort of activity? Generic interventions for sprain/strain: Take ibuprofen (or other NSAIDs). Apply ice packs. Elevate leg. Wrapping ankle may allow you to get in more steps too. *all/any of these only if advisable for your situation. Swimming is low impact. You…

Go to a doctor. Possible when you had gallstones that your pancreatic duct was damaged. Or that you high fat diet has raised you triglycerides too much and irritated your pancreas. You do not want pancreatitis. It sucks.

My pancreas made me give up alcohol against my will :'( And i definitely eat more calories now. Used to be satisfied with a bowl of steamed veggies for dinner if paired with a nice wine! Now I actually want food if I can't have drinks. Also drinking makes me want to exercise more. Love a buzzed run!
